The article is dedicated to actual problems of the linguistic personality in modern linguistics. ... more The article is dedicated to actual problems of the linguistic personality in modern linguistics. It reveals the scientific content of the notion of linguistic personality as an object of linguistic research, which includes mental, social, ethnic, and other components of the discourse. The object of the research is the linguistic personality of Dmytro Yavornytsky – an outstanding scientist, social and cultural activist, writer, historian, folklorist, and lexicographer. The article explores language means, which determine the artistic individuality of D. Yavornytsky. Author’s worldview and values found their expression in the language of his works. The analysis of literary texts revealed that D. Yavornytsky aestheticized the folk spoken element. The writer widely uses everyday vocabulary, designating the realia of folk life, which alongside with the stylistically marked vocabulary of various degree of expressiveness displays the linguistic colouring of the epoch. У статті проаналізована лексика художніх творів Д. Яворницького з погляду особливостей використання як загальновживаних лексичних номінацій, так і лексики вузького стилістичного призначення; описані тематичні групи, які автор використовує для змалювання життя і побуту українського селянства. Ключові слова: загальновживана лексика, побутова лексика, професійно-виробнича лексика, розмовна лексика, діалектизми, вульгаризми. Майборода Н. Г. Лексика художественных произведений Д. Яворницкого: семантическая структура и стилистические функции. В статье осуществлён анализ лексики художественных произведений Д. Яворницкого с точки зрения особенностей употребления как общеупотребительных лексических номинаций, так и лексики узкого стилистического назначения; описаны тематические группы, которые автор использовал для изображения жизни и быта украинского крестьянства. Yavornitsky from the point of view of the peculiarities of the word usage vernacular language and vocabulary of a narrow stylistic values; the thematic groups of the current vocabulary nominations for the description of the Ukrainian peasants are described.

The article touches upon various lexical-semantic peculiarities of Andrii Kokotiukha’s detective ... more The article touches upon various lexical-semantic peculiarities of Andrii Kokotiukha’s detective novels, specifically the nomination of people – characters of the novel. Such research are presented mostly from the point of view of literary studies. Scientists studied peculiar features of composition, genre, and plot of detective novels. The question of language and style of detective novels would uncommonly become a subject of research as they are regarded to as so-called mass literature, that is one that is focused on literature preferences of a wide circle of readers, in other words – it is a popular, entertaining, trivial literature. Linguistic research of detective works were mostly done on the material of literary texts of English and French languages, Ukrainian detectives were not a subject of such analysis. Purpose of the study: The purpose of the article is to compare and distinguish between the commun... more Purpose of the study: The purpose of the article is to compare and distinguish between the communication phenomena of sabotage, suicide, and avoidance displayed in the speech of characters of modern Ukrainian plays; to define them as communicative tactics that do not always violate communicative comfort and lead to conflict in communication; to characterize the main communicative goals and maxims affected by these communicative tactics. The key methods of the study, in addition to general scientific ones, were such dedicated linguistic methods as contextual and situational, speech and action analysis of communicative sabotage, suicide, and avoidance, as well as the method of structural and pragmatic analysis to provide characteristics of speech abnormal behavior of characters in modern Ukrainian plays, to identify of the consequences of communicative sabotage, suicide, and avoidance.
