Since no data on indices and ratios of proximal femur in Punjab is available the study was planned to record the same from radiographs of normal adult population. Study design: Cross-sectional population study Methods: MCI, CCR, CFI and CBR were calculated from measurements on anteroposterior radiographs of the proximal femur from 116 male and 96 female subjects with a mean age of 46 years. Results: Morphologic cortical index, canal calcar ratio and canal flare index did not have any statistically significant difference between the two sexes. Canal bone ratio showed a highly significant difference when the male and female group were compared (p = 0.0042). Conclusion: The study has provided baseline data on morphologic cortical index, canal calca...

Cancer of the esophagus is one of the most lethal of all cancers. The esophagus is clearly visible on CT images. Over the last decade, computerized tomography (CT) tools have qualified the carcinoma early finding, thereby lowering mortality rates. The advent of multidetector computerized tomography (MDCT) scanners has been a boon to clinical imaging practice. The aim of the present study was to assess the role of computed tomography imaging in esophagus carcinoma staging and detection. Materials and Methods: This prospective study was conducted on 82 esophagus carcinoma patients in the department of Radiology, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital Lahore from July 2020 to June 2021. Individuals who presented with esophagus carcinoma signs and symptoms were enrolled in this study. Esophagus carcinoma was confirmed based on histopathological examination (HPE)...

Pre-eclampsia and intrauterine growth restriction remain important causes of maternal and perinatal morbidity and mortality. Sonography is a worldwide method of choice for non-invasive examination of pregnancy. Doppler velocimetry is a suitable non-invasive method for evaluation of pathological haemodynamic changes in uteroplacental circulation. Abnormal uterine artery waveforms especially pulsatility index, alone or combined with notching, is the most predictive Doppler index. Objective: To determine the positive predictive value of Screening Doppler ultrasound in the detection of pre-eclampsia during the first and second trimesters in high risk pregnancies by taking 24 hours proteinuria as the gold standard. Method: Total 350 patients of high risk group were examined at 11-14 weeks and 20-24 weeks of gestation. Color and pulse Doppler Ultrasound was performe...

Study Design: Comparative Study Place and Duration: Mohiuddin Islamic Teaching Hospital Mirpur AJK for period of six months from 1st August, 2020 to 31stJanuary, 2021. Methodology: A total of 20 patients of both genders with age of 25 years and onward with intracerebral hemorrhage who underwent MRI following CT in the first 6 hours of onset and last known well time and admission in stroke center were included in the study. The follow up time duration for both the scans was 24 hours to 48hours. The Mc-Nemar test was used to determine the comparison between MRI and CT on contingency table. Results: The mean age of the participants was 53.26±2.45. The frequency of the male participants was 13(65%) and that of female was 7(35%). All cases were of acute ICH 20(100%). The number of positive cases on MRI and CT scan was 17, while the frequency of positive cases on MRI and negative on CT...

The EDiR is administered and issued by the European Board of Radiology (EBR) and consists of multiple computer-based modules. The first candidates took the exam at the European Congress of Radiology in Vienna in 2011. The examination was being held in different European countries including Spain, France, Austria and Turkey. Radiological Society of Pakistan took the great initiative in 2017 and managed to hold the examination in Islamabad, Pakistan, the 1 st ever EDIR examination outside Europe. This provided the radiologists from Pakistan to achieve this qualification within the country. The 2 nd EDiR examination in Pakistan is planned on 16 th September 2018 at Islamabad.

Most of the industry depends on induction motor. Therefore, reliable operation of induction motor is much necessary for long term continuity of services associated with it. For reliability purposes, different types of protection relays are used such as over-current relay, under-current relay, over-voltage relay, under-voltage relay and thermal relay. In this research, induction motor is simulated in Matlab / Simulink and different types of protection circuits are attached with it. Effects of protection system on induction motor working and under faults are analyzed in this research work.

In Pakistan, hepatic tumors are the 4thcommon disorder. The current study aims to evaluate the efficacy of hepatic tumors taking histopathology as a gold standard. Materials and Methods: This cross-sectional study wascarried out on 120 patients who underwent CT scans for hepatic tumors inradiology department of Sughra Shafi Medical Complex / Sahara Medical College, Narowal and Children Hospital &Institute of Child Health,Multan during the period of six months from 1st September 2020 to 2nd March 2021. The age range for all the patients was 29 to 80 years with mean ±SD(52±5.32) followed by hepatic tumors diagnosed based on histopathology as agold standard and assessed with CT. The prevalence of colorectal carcinoma was 22(18.33%), while other common parameters were pancreas, stomach adenocarcinoma, and biliarytree 13 (10.83%), and hepatocell...
