Brown ve Levinson tarafindan ortaya konulan incelik kurami (1987),zaman icerisinde cok sayida edimbilimci tarafindan ele alinmis ve gelistirilmistir.Jonathan Culpepper (1996), incelik karsiti stratejileri bes gurupta toplamistir:dogrudan yapilan incelik karsitligi, olumlu incelik karsitligi, olumsuz incelik karsitligi,alayci incelik ve beklenen inceligi gostermemek. Culpepper daha sonrakisiniflandirmalarinda dolayli incelik karsitligi, durumsal incelik karsitligi, kaliplasmisveya yari kaliplasmis incelik karsitligi ifadeler ve sezdirilen incelik karsitligi gibiterimleri kullanmistir.Bu calismada, Culpepper’in incelik karsitligi stratejileri siniflandirmasidogrultusunda Ayse Kulin’in Genis Zamanlar oyku kitabinda yer alan ayni basliklioykusundeki ana kisi olan kadinin iletisiminde yer alan incelik karsiti sozcelerincelenmistir. Yapilan inceleme sonucu, kadin karakterin olumlu ve sezdirilenl incelikkarsiti stratejileri olumsuz ve dogrudan yapilan stratejilere oranla daha sikliktakullandigi ve incelik karsiti soz eylemlere yonelmesinin nedeninin ofke ve kizginlikdegil, korku, olaylari denetleyememe ve caresizlik oldugu saptanmistir

It is repeatedly argued that education opportunities and services directly influence life satisfaction; the satisfaction in academic life increases life satisfaction, and social policies to be developed in every country should aim to increase life satisfaction (Chow, 2005; Diener, and Seligman 2004). Gender, age, professional status, education, professional expectations of the school counsellors and the institution they work have an impact on their life satisfaction. No research has been found related to the effect of personal and socio-demographic factors on life satisfaction. Kültürün önemli öğelerinden olan dil, bir yandan toplumun gerçeklerini yansıtırken, diğer yandan ... more Kültürün önemli öğelerinden olan dil, bir yandan toplumun gerçeklerini yansıtırken, diğer yandan kültürün yeniden oluşumunu ve devamını sağlar. Bu nedenle ataerkil toplumlarda kadının ikincil konumda olmasının yansımalarını dil üzerinde izleyebildiğimiz gibi dilin toplumsal cinsiyet rollerini oluşturmadaki önemini görebiliriz. Toplumsal cinsiyet ve dil konusu, kadınların konuştuğu dil ve kadın hakkındaki dil olmak üzere iki farklı alanda incelenmelidir. Bu çalışmanın amacı iki konuya açıklık getirmektir. Bunlardan birincisi, Türkçede kadın hakkında kullanılan dilin onun ikincil konumuna ne derece ışık tuttuğunu araştırmaktadır. Bu amaçla Metin Yurtbaşı'nın A Dictionary of Turkish Proverbs adlı sözlüğünün "Kadın" başlığı altında yer alan atasözleri incelenmiştir. İkinci amaç ise, kadının kullandığı dil ile onun konumu arasındaki ilişkilerini inceleyen araştırmaların tarihsel gelişimini örnek ve açıklamalarla vermektir. Bu yapılırken üç ana dalga feminist hareketle görülen değişiklikler takip edilmiştir. Sonuç olarak Türkçede dil yoluyla kadının olumsuzlandığı ve aşağılandığı saptanmıştır. Toplumun gerçeklerini yansıttığı kadar bu gerçeklerin oluşumunu ve pekiştirilmesini sağlayan dilimizin bu ifadelerden arındırılmasıyla kadının konumunun iyileştirilebileceği konusuna dikkat çekilmek istenmiştir.

In recent years the number of proponents of literature use in language classes has been considera... more In recent years the number of proponents of literature use in language classes has been considerably increasing due to increased awareness of benefits of including literature into language programs. A number of books have been published to help guide language teachers on how to use literature in their lessons, and publishers have begun to investigate ways of including literature into their language teaching course books. The aim of this paper is to examine to what extent and how literature has been integrated into course books specially prepared for language teaching. To this end, three sets of course books used at the preparatory schools of four state and four private universities in Izmir have been scanned. According to the results of the study, there is a noticeable effort to increase learners’ awareness of literature. Even though literary texts are rarely used, there are frequent references to the names of authors and the titles of literary works and fictional characters. When the advantages of integrating literature in language teaching are considered, it can be strongly recommended that many more attempts are needed for more use of literature in more effective ways in language course books. The aim of the study is to determine the relation between life satisfaction, anxiety level and au... more The aim of the study is to determine the relation between life satisfaction, anxiety level and automatic thoughts of candidate teachers. The data collection tools employed in the study are Life Satisfaction Scale (LSS), State-Trait Inventory (STAI), Automatic Thoughts Questionnaire-Revised (ATQ-R). The data were analyzed through "t" test, "F" test, Kruskal-Wallis, "Scheffe" significance test and Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient. The results of the study show that there is a negative meaningful relation between life satisfaction and negative automatic thoughts, life satisfaction and anxiety and anxiety and automatic thoughts. According to gender, a significant difference is found in students' anxiety levels. Significant differences are found between the mother's education level and life satisfaction and anxiety level and automatic thoughts. Significant differences are also found between the father's education level and anxiety and between level and negative automatic thoughts.

The purpose of this study is to examine to what extent loneliness levels of university students a... more The purpose of this study is to examine to what extent loneliness levels of university students are predicted by their attachment styles, strategies of coping with stress, gender, grade levels and socioeconomic levels. The study group consists of 249 students at the Faculty of Education of a private university in TRNC in the academic year 2008-2009. The data of the research are obtained through the use of Relationship Scale Questionnaire (RSQ), UCLA Loneliness Scale and The Coping Strategy Scale (CSS). In the analysis of the data, Multiple Regression Analysis is used. The results of the study indicate significant relationships among almost all the variables.
