Indian culture and literature are deeply intertwined, with literature being a reflection of the c... more Indian culture and literature are deeply intertwined, with literature being a reflection of the country's diverse cultural heritage. Indian culture is known for its rich history, diversity, and unique customs and traditions that have been shaped by various religions, philosophies, and civilizations over centuries. From ancient texts such as the Vedas, Upanishads, and Mahabharata to modern works by writers like Rabindranath Tagore and Salman Rushdie, Indian literature has captured the essence of this diverse cultural tapestry. Indian literature is marked by its diversity of language and themes, with each region of the country boasting a unique literary tradition. The country's literary heritage includes poetry, epics, dramas, and novels, among other forms of literary expression. Indian literature is notable for its themes of spirituality, mythology, and social issues such as caste, gender, and politics. The literature has been influenced by various religions, including Hinduism, Sikhism, Buddhism, Islam, and Christianity. One of the defining features of Indian literature is its ability to blend the traditional with the modern, resulting in a unique literary style that is both timeless and contemporary. Indian writers have contributed significantly to world literature, winning numerous awards and accolades, including the Nobel Prize for Literature.

India is a country known for its rich cultural heritage, and this heritage is not limited to its ... more India is a country known for its rich cultural heritage, and this heritage is not limited to its cities but is also found in its villages. Unfortunately, many of these villages are facing threats to their cultural heritage due to various reasons such as modernization, neglect, and natural disasters. The preservation of the cultural heritage in Indian villages is of utmost importance and is an integral part of preserving India's unique cultural identity. Therefore, this research article aims to discuss the ways in which the cultural heritage of Indian villages can be protected. This article is based on a comprehensive review of the literature related to the cultural heritage of Indian villages. The st udy found that the protection of cultural heritage in Indian villages requires a multi-pronged approach, which includes both legal and non-legal measures. Some of the legal measures that can be taken include enacting laws that protect the cultural heritage of villages, imposing fines on those who violate these laws, and pro viding financial assistance to villagers to maintain and preserve their cultural heritage. Non-legal measures can include raising awareness about the importance of preserving cultural heritage, encouraging local communities to take ownership of their heritage, and promoting sustainable tourism in villages. This paper highlights the challenges and the need for developing new paradigms in the heritage conservation scenario in India. In addition, the study highlights the importance of educating the younger generation about their cultural heritage and the need to preserve it.

Anita Nair's "Ladies Coupe" is a great success in literature world.As a woman writer, she goes deep into the inner psyche of the depressed womenand effectively highlights the trials and tribulations faced by them in a patriarchal society. We live in a country whose value system is largely dominated by the patriarchy. It is the story of a woman's search for freedom and their conditions in a male dominated society. The novel raises the questions whether the role of an Indian woman as a representative of other women, living under oppressive patriarchal systems in relation to cultural resistance, should be restricted only to their roles as wives, sisters and mothers. Hence, this paper tries to point out how Anita Nair projects the patriarchal setup of the Indian family life in her novel.

The present paper focused on Shashi Deshpande’s novel That Long Silence, on her portrayal of the ... more The present paper focused on Shashi Deshpande’s novel That Long Silence, on her portrayal of the complexities of Indian women’s lives through her women characters .The novelist had tried to depict the cause of their submissive position in society. Agreeing to the novelist, only patriarchy was not responsible for their miserable position in society. The passivity on behalf of the women and their succumbing to the traditional roles of wife, mother, etc. were equally responsible for their subjugation. Women should not victimise themselves, they should try to erase the silence and they should try to render articulation to their inner conflicts. She uncovers the intuitive and oblivious mind of her characters. Her female characters are touchy, hesitant, splendid and inventive.The women are especially trapped during the time spent rethinking and rediscovering their own jobs, position and relationship inside their given social world.
