Problems of the urban infrastructure management could be found in the lack of systemic and compre... more Problems of the urban infrastructure management could be found in the lack of systemic and comprehensive approach in problem solving at strategic level, as well as lack of data and procedures at operative level. Therefore, a generic model of a Decision Support System (DSS) for urban infrastructure management is proposed, which includes three decision and management levels (operative, tactical and strategic). In this paper the application of the DSS model is focused on the improvement of the part of urban infrastructure system that is parking garages. A case study deals with big parking garages project for a large urban area and how the DSS can be efficiently used for solving location and sub-project ranking problems, as well as for definition of an investment strategy. Two multicriteria models, AHP and PROMETHHE, in a combination with 0-1 programming are used. The main advantage of an application of multicriteria analysis is that all stakeholders could be objectively included into decision process.

The objective of the model is to provide the basis for the evaluation of urban areas. The aim of the research is to find out the most su itable model for definition of the city rent in coastal urban areas. The presented research is based on information technology, including graphical and numerical processing of appropriately handled and structured information. The rent model includes all the relevant factors considering values of the urban environment, especially historical and cultural heritage. Such evaluation, together with information technologies, represent very useful and practical tool for environmentally sound management of urban areas, and a support to decision makers.

Consequently, the Ministry of the Sea, Tourism, Transport and Development of the Republic of Croatia has initiated a project for developing effective «Decision Support System (DSS) for defining the places of refuge for ships in distress at sea». Such system would include a model support based upon GIS and different operational research models, which would eventually result in establishing a single DSS. Basic module is GIS, for all levels of DSS, that comprise information sub-systems about spatial and other data and serves the other modules with data and information. This is crucial component but its functionality can only be seen in situations when lives and goods are jeopardised. Therefore it is necessary to build a secure firefight system that will be able to support decision making process in real time. Supporting decision making with GIS (geographical information system) based DSS (decision support system) will rise functionality and operational abilities of the fire service. Such evaluation represents very useful and practical tool for this and any other city facility that have to solve problems in real time with minimum risks.

The original paradigm of DSS data-dialog-models has to be adjusted to the various needs of emergency systems. Presentation will discuss various organisational aspects of DSS regarding both model and functional management, such as hierarchic approach that is quite helpful because it gives the framework for the definition of the basic entities for the further analysis. Furthermore, wide use of Geographical Information System (GIS) as a part of data segment of DSS makes it more powerful. Special attention will also be paid on application of multicriteria analysis as decision tool within DSS for risk analysis as well as priority setting processes during disaster preparedness. To je jedan od temeljnih razloga zbog kojeg se pristupilo izradi ovog plana navodnjavanja. Na osnovu ovog plana podnjeti ce se zahtjev Vladi RH za potrebna financijska sredstva, u svrhu konacne realizacije navodnjavanja u praksi. Konacni cilj je pomoc u razvoju poljoprivrede na podrucju Sibensko-Kninske županije.

The financial shortage usually triggers a need for priority setting in demining actions. As a part of FP7 Project TIRAMISU, a specialized Web application has been developed to achieve fully transparent priority setting process. It allows stakeholders and donors to actively join decision making process using user-friendly and intuitive Web application.
U radu se izlaže primjena metoda visekriterijalne i statisticke analize na problem vrednovanja po... more U radu se izlaže primjena metoda visekriterijalne i statisticke analize na problem vrednovanja pojedinih podrucja na osnovi parametara zagađenja zraka. Navedena je analiza izrađena u cilju utvrđivanja utjecaja emisije industrijskih izvora, konkretno tvornica cementa, na kvalitetu zraka na kvalitetu zraka u njihovoj okolini. U analizi su koristeni rezultati mjerenja taložne tvari na 14 postaja unutar podrucja Kastelanskog zaljeva. Primjenom visekriterijalne analize podrucje promatranja je kategorizirano prema stupnju oneciscenja. Dodatnom statistickom analizom rezultata mjerenja procijenjen je udjel zagađenja emisijom tvornica cementa u cjelokupnom zagađenju zraka unutar podrucja promatranja.

The three decision and management levels was analysed and a DSS for production and distribution of ready-mixed concrete is conceptualised, accordingly. The DSS presented in this paper combines various mathematical models and computer support at all decision levels as well as georaphical information system (GIS) as a logistic support to ready-mixed concrete distribution. The purpose of the paper is to demonstrate an application of GIS techniques and methodologies and... more The purpose of the paper is to demonstrate an application of GIS techniques and methodologies and multicriterional analysis as powerful tools covering all three parts (data, dialog, model) of DSS in coastal zone management. This is demonstrated on the example of coastal zone value assessment on the island of Brac. Analysis includes all relevant factors and data that influence coastal values of the island. It is shown that the available data and the possibility to generate additional information, including flexibility, make this system one of the essential instruments of coastal zone management.

Analizira se potreba istraživanja novih tehnologija za preventivno i optimalno operativno djelovanje. Izlaže istraživacke i razvojne rezultate kod daljinske detekcije izbijanja sumskog požara.
With the deepening of poverty eradication, the overall poverty situation in deep poverty-stricken... more With the deepening of poverty eradication, the overall poverty situation in deep poverty-stricken areas has greatly improved. However, how to prevent some people out of poverty from "returning to poverty" due to illness and disaster is still a severe test facing deep poverty areas. This paper focuses on the poverty alleviation risk of poor people in deep poverty areas, focusing on the development capacity of the poor, the regional environment and the current poverty alleviation assessment system, and puts forward corresponding suggestions on the issues of returning to poverty in terms of talents, medical care, insurance, industrial development and employment. In the hope of "preventing in the first place", we will consolidate the results of poverty alleviation.

Described system supports solving specific problems such as: location selection for the metting place, pilgrims flows scheduling, traffic menagment, transportation using ITS, internal transportation, and dimensioning of corridors around sectors for the pilgrims in metting site. Whole system is a combination of GIS support system, mathematical optimisation models, and logical models, all of them based on census database.
