This paper deals with a design and construction of a dual-channel oscilloscope interface which en... more This paper deals with a design and construction of a dual-channel oscilloscope interface which enables concurrent measurement of voltage and current waveforms up to 30 kHz. The operation of the unit is based on a capacitive coupling through and isolation barrier inside a custom integrated circuit. The construction is cheap and easy to be bulit. Two samples of the device were bulit and tested at certain service operations. Based on the experience, several modifications have been proposed. These proposals are included in this paper as well. © 2014 North Atlantic University Union. All rights reserved

Perception of image perceptions is one of the most important features of every person. With the h... more Perception of image perceptions is one of the most important features of every person. With the help of our eyesight, we can perceive the world around us, acquiring information about our surroundings and recognize different objects in them. Thanks to the recipes of our eye, we can capture it clear information and transferred information to the brain where this information is further processed and evaluated. Based on that, we can recognize what we see.The detection of various objects or shapes in an image is a very important element of all operations involving Image Processing. It is not only used in the processing of Medical Imagery data, (e.g. searching for structures in tomographic images); but also, in the Security field, (e.g. access control); as well as in the human sectori.e. in cameras and cameras, (e.g. face detection, smiles, etc.). This article deals with possible detection methods of objects in images.

This article presents an application example for smart household control system. That system is composed both from a set of simple wireless modules and sensors monitoring and controlling smart household technology and from a central unit processing collected data. According to results, pre-set actions are performed. The required actions variety and rules for a smart reaction on various situation can be created and configured by user via dedicated interface. That system can manage indoor and outdoor temperature measurement, the lighting control, RF transmitter, jalousie, motion sensor control etc. GIU for a PC and for a mobile phone extend versatility of that system even for a remote control.

Those real equipment models are controlled through the programmable logical controllers (PLC). As a first task step, students have to connect the particular model to a PLC. The ARM Cortex-M3 architecture with LPC1769 microcontroller is described in more details aimed at the individual blocks. The LPC1769 microcontroller potentiality is demonstrated on internal communication variants, interrupt management and memory mapping philosophy. The real time operation system is also mentioned together with its various functions application benefits. The final solution is applicable in a laboratory for students enrolled for Microcomputers subject where programming and peripheral control is taught. That microcontroller kit is also possible to be employed as a cheap controlling device in various automation areas. As the development kit comprise even the network connection possibility, color display, and audio output, it can serve as a cost effective alternative for multimedia application development tool well comparable with many mobile phone applications

It describes the selected hardware solution based on development kit with ARM microprocessor and connected board with additional electronics.The objective of this paper is to create an electrically-controlled bracket for analogue or IP cameras. The mechanical construction of the bracket itself and the possibilities of its movement are also described. The control device/unit assures the control of every individual part of the bracket. The primary operation of the various sections of the adjustable brackets is assured by bipolar stepper motors which are inserted into the mounting guide-rails. Je prezentován návrh průtokoměru vhodného pro měření malých průtoků plynů. Za tím účelem byl navržen dvourozměrný a třírozměrný numerický model s využitím Navier – Stokes rovnic. Ve vytvořeném modelu byly studovány vlastnosti průtokoměru zhotoveného z různých konstrukčních materiálů, byly vytvořeny modely pro různé druhy proudícího plynu. Výsledky matematického modelu byly porovnávány s experimentálními daty.In the presented investigation, the problem of accurate determination of low mass flow was studied. In this paper a flowmeter design applicable for measurement of low gas flow amounts is presented. The work deals with remote control of the electrical appliances and problems of data transfer via power line 230 V. The designed devices which provide relative communication via power line are used within the frame of the one family house. Designed devices - concretely input-output unit, PC interface and GSM gate work on a bus principle. The bus is constructed by power line 230 V. Designed devices are composed of microcontrollers AVR and modem TDA5051AT provides their relative communication via power line. Communications protocol with which devices work was developed so that corresponds with hardware resolution of particular devices. Particular devices were practically realized and their activity was checked

The measurement of mentioned flow range is becoming more and more important for a lot of applications in the life science, analysis, biotechnologies, synthesis and nanotechnology markets. In this paper a flowmeter design applicable for measurement of low gas flow amounts is presented. To this end, the numeric model of designed flowmeter was made and the flowmeter was numerically simulated using compressible Navier - Stokes equations in two dimensions. The computations were carried out for several types of agitated gases. The results were compared with experimental data

This work is concerned with the verification of the reliability of biometric systems that use fingerprints for their activities. Further, the eFinger programme is used to study similarities between men, women´s and family members´ fingerprints.

RFID technology has established itself in many sectors of human activity, including security and ... more RFID technology has established itself in many sectors of human activity, including security and access systems. Just at this context, the demands on the hardware design in terms of its electromagnetic compatibility become critical. This paper provides a description of an immunity test against the electrostatic discharge according to the standard EN 61000-4-2 that was applied to an RFID reader which was primarily intended to be applied in access systems, employing the on-board recognition of the RFID tags. It was shown that such device can be endangered by the external electrostatic pulse; the findings described in this paper may be beneficial for the developers of the hardware for the RFID devices.

The latest technological advance has extended the analytical potential of that method even more. This paper presents some examples how the I-V characteristic comparison can reveal the differences between the chosen approved model component and some other alternative components manufactured by different producers. Immunity tests to radiated electromagnetic field are one of the most common tests performed withi... more Immunity tests to radiated electromagnetic field are one of the most common tests performed within the framework of the electromagnetic compatibility. These tests are performed inside a shielded chamber provided the requirements given by the appropriate standards are kept. As the levels of the generated fields can be high and the output power of the transmitting amplifiers cannot be infinite, it is necessary to achieve a good performance of the transmitting antenna. By means of the real experiment the author of this paper shows how the height of the antenna placed above the conductive floor can affect the antenna's voltage standing waves ratio and how this phenomenon affects the parameters of the whole measurement system.
