Due to enormous number of mishaps at junctions, there is an extensive need of a method to minimize the mishaps around the junction areas. This paper presents a method of smart traffic signalling along with an effective data dissemination that informs the vehicles to stop, accelerate or decelerate near the junction, to minimize the overall mishap rate. The proposed method allows the traffic light controller to control the timing of traffic lights in the emergency situations and also effectively disseminate the data to the vehicles moving towards the junction informing them about the condition of the junction. The proposed algorithm shows a much better performance than the conventional traffic light control system.

One reason is the lack of proper planning, and planning is made with the help of accurate forecasting. Usually, energy consumption prediction is based on the univariate models neglecting the other influencing factors like economic, social and environmental. And even when we consider these external factors, it is very hard to select the appropriate factors. We have taken into consideration nine different external factors and also the lag values of dependent variables (Electricity, gas and oil). Upon making different combinations, we derived over 4000 regression models and our algorithms selected the best models based on the value of mean absolute percentage error and root-mean-square error. Our method provides a comprehensive approach for variable selection and best model selection for prediction.

Literature on the power distribution network presents different approaches, however, lacks to address the several issues of the complex power distribution networks and many aspects are yet to be explored; for example, the uncertain cost of energy loss. This study intends to address the gaps in the literature by proposing a four-phased approach. In doing so, first, an integer linear programming model is formulated with the objective of cost minimization. Secondly, fuzzy variables are used to tackle the parameters with uncertainty; cost of energy loss. In the third phase, a fine-tuned genetic algorithm (FT-GA) that uses the Taguchi Orthogonal Array is introduced to solve the mathematical model...

In forecasting fields, intermittent demand forecasting remains to be a very important but challenging problem. Intermittent demand is characterized by many empty demands, stochastic periods between them, and high variance of non-zero values. These characteristics make intermittent demand forecasting a difficult task, for both parametric and non-parametric approaches. The parametric methods have shown many limitations to provide accurate information. Though non-parametric methods provide better information for decision making than parametric case, they cannot forecast any exact information of point values. This paper proposes a new simulation framework that takes into consideration the correlation structure between demand of assembly and demand of parts, leading to more precise information of point values. In particular, we demonstrate how sub-parts for classification can affect to prediction performance of the overall mo...

A few years back, ILCCs filed a petition against Asiana Airlines, one of the two FSCs in South Korea, as Asiana Air was launching another subsidiary on the model of AWA. This, interestingly, indicates that AWA are doing well in the South Korean aviation market. However, a detailed study is required to evaluate the performance of this model, as in the global market the success of AWA is blurred. This study attempts to shed light on the performance of South Korean AWA, which may provide fruitful insights considering the post-COVID-19 dynamics of the aviation market.
