Kata kunci: hibridisasi antara strain, udang regang, tetua terbaik, jarak genetik ABSTRACT INTERSTRAIN HYBRIDIZATION OF INDONESIAN FREWHWATER PRAWN Macrobrachium sintangense De Man, 1898. Macrobrachium sintangense is an Indonesian freshwater prawn called "udang regang". Local people use the prawn as food by catching. The prawn has high protein content, however it has not been domesticated. Research Center for Limnology-LIPI ha...

Kelangsungan h...

However information about appropriate feeds type for the growth and performance of Aplocheilus lineatus has been unknown well. The aim of this study is to determine the effect of different feed to growth, survival rate (SR) and body colour of A. lineatus. Three different feeds was used in this study, were commercial diet (pellet), Tubificidae, and Chironomus. Each treatment repeated three times. Ten A. lineatus juveniles 1.2 - 2.1 cm in length were kept in 60 x 30 x 30 cm5 aquarium for 3 months with observation period every two weeks. The result shows that there was not significant survival rate of/1, lineatus (p > 0.05). There is significant different in daily growth (length and weight) and body colour. Fish which fed with Tubificidae show the best growth of length (O.OS36 cm/day) and the best growth of weight (0.0327 g/day). Difference of appearance of fish body which clearly seen in male fish. Colour of fish body r...

However, the fish has been categorized as near threatened by IUCN. A current report showed the fish could be cultivated. This research aims to improve the reproduction quality in cultivation by using artificial feed containing Spirulina (A=0, B=3, and C=6) % dry weight. The study was conducted with two replications using an aquarium (80 x 40 x 40 cm) for 40 days (October-December 2020) at Research Center for Limnology-LIPI. Each aquarium contains 21 broodstock (female: male = 2:1). Observation parameters are the total number of spawning/ToS (time), ovulated eggs number/OEN, fertilization ability/FA (%), hatching ability/HA (%), number of larvae/NoL, the egg of incubation time/EIT (day), survival of larvae seven days old after hatching/SR7 (%). Based on descriptive analysis, the use of feed C (containing 6% Spirulina) produced the highest values of ToS, OE...

Research paper thumbnail of DNA Barcoding of Neolissochilus sumatranus and Tor douronensis to Support In Situ Conservation of Indonesian Mahseers

They are sacred and are usually served in Batak tribe traditional ceremonies. However, their population in the wild is declining because of habitat degradation, unwise exploitation, water pollution, and the introduction of invasive species. Therefore, suitable management is needed to maintain Ikan Batak's sustainability in their natural habitat, which can be conducted through in situ conservation. The habitat of Ikan Batak in the Bonan Dolok river of the Samosir Regency can potentially be developed as a conservation site. Information concerning this species in Bonan Dolok River is needed as a basis for effective in situ conservation management. Morphologically identified fish captured in Bonan Dolok River were validated using DNA barcoding of cytochrome oxidase I (COI) mitochondrial DNA segment. This study confirmed that Ikan Batak captured from Bonan Dolok River belongs to two genera, Neolissochilus and Tor. Furthermore, the phylogenetic tree construction using Maximum Likelihood showed that the specimens identified as N. sumatranus were identical to N. cf soroides, a species found in the Malaysian peninsula, Thailand, and Cambodia.

However, production tends to decrease due to high feed costs. The alternative feed types need to be found to anticipate the problem. Lemna perpusilla Torr is one of macrophytes plant which potentially used as an alternative feed due to high protein content. This study aims to evaluate the growth performance of fish fed with a combination of Lemna and commercial feed. As much of each 14 fishes were rearing in a 45x45x40 cm3 aquarium and fed for 84 days or 12 weeks. There are 5 combinations of feed, i.e feed A (100% commercial feed), B (75% commercial feed + 25% Lemna), C (50% commercial feed + 50% Lemna), D (25% commercial feed + 75% Lemna), and E (100% Lemna). The fishes were fed by commercial feed as much as 3% of the total fish, while administering Lemna at 30% of body weight. Growth performances were measured i.e standard and to...
