Pelvik inflamatuar hastalık, endojen servikovajinal mikroorganizmaların serviksten uterusa doğru ... more Pelvik inflamatuar hastalık, endojen servikovajinal mikroorganizmaların serviksten uterusa doğru ilerlemesi sonucu enfeksiyonun, üst genital sisteme yayılması ile ortaya çıkmaktadır.

The evaluation of risk factors is what needs to be addressed in primary cancer prevention. It was aimed to determine the relationship between cancer awareness and behavioral styles of health sciences faculty students registered in a state university. Method: The study sample consisted of 1204 students at the faculty of health sciences of a state university in Istanbul in the 2018-2019 fall semester. The Questionnaire Form and Miller Behavioral Style Scale (MBSS) were applied to the students. The data were evaluated using the SPSS package program in the computer environment. Results: The students’ mean age was 20.74±2.603. It was determined that at least one relative of 32.2% of the students had cancer, grandfathers mostly had cancer, and lung cancer was the most common cancer. A statistically significant difference was found upon examining the knowledge of cancer risks and early diagnosis methods of the students with and w...

METHODS: Published archives, including PubMed, Cochrane Library, Web of Science, and ULAKBİM databases, were scanned using keywords based on MeSH. Only randomized controlled trials were included. The data were analyzed using the Review Manager computer program (version 5.3). RESULTS: Pooled standardized differences in means of sexual function in both pelvic floor exercise and control group were 6.33 (95%CI 5.27-7.40, p<0.00001) during pregnancy. The pooled standardized differences in means in sexual function after postpartum intervention was 1.19 (95%CI 0.08-2.30, p=0.04). CONCLUSION: Evidence has shown a little effect on the pelvic floor muscle training on sexual function in pregnancy and postpartum period in primipara women, and it is a safe strategy that can improve postpartum sexual function.

Method: The data for this descriptive and cross sectional study were collected by using the "Data gathering form" that was prepared through using information from the literature. The study was performed between May 1st 2013-June 1st 2013 with the participation of 166 students from the Midwifery Department of the Istanbul University School of Health Sciences. Findings: 24.7% stated that they were wounded with contaminated needles during clinical applications. To protect themselves during invasive interventions, 75.3% of the students stated that they would "wear gloves". While 42.2% of the students think HIV/AIDS spreads through flies, mosquitoes, and ants, 50.0% think it may spread through swimming in the same pool with an infected person. The rate of thinking that Hepatitis C may spread through dried blood increased with decreasing total years of study, and there was a meaningful difference between classes (p≤ .05). When the current year the students studied and reasons for not getting a tattoo were compared, a statistically meaningful difference was found in avoiding tattoos for medical reasons (p≤ .05). Conclusions: Midwifery students, who have a high likelihood of contacting blood borne agents that cause systemic infections, need information on protection, precaution, and the ways these agents spread. Most of the midwifery students need information on necessary post exposure applications as well as standard precautions.

The participation was totally on the basis of voluntariness and the questionnaire has been filled up by the participants themselves. Evaluation of the data was done with computer. Results: Study found the 86.8% of them know how to perform BSE; 19.7% were doing it periodically each month. Signs and symptoms to observe through it were known between 32.9%-60.5% and the awareness about the important points of it was between 30.3%-77.6%. Conclusion : Research data analysis showed they know theoretically how to practice it but few performing it periodically and effectively and they have medium knowledge about what signs and symptoms to observe through breast self-examination.

Materials and Methods: The study sample consisted of the relatives of female patients (N=253) who were admitted to Istanbul University of Medicine. Women with a family history of cervical cancer formed the case group, while those without family history of cervical cancer constituted the control group. Two distinct data collection tools, a questionnaire and the Miller Behavioral Style Scale (MBSS), were used in order to obtain data for evaluation with SPSS for Windows 20.0 statistics package program. Results: It was found that 61.0% of the case group with family history of cervical cancer and 19.0% of the control group without family history of cervical cancer were using early diagnostic methods. Thus the presence of an individual with cervical cancer in the family affected the attitudes towards early diagnosis. It was further found that the level of knowledge on cervical cancer and PAP smear test was higher in the case group, which was more sensitive with regard to being informed about cervical cancer as compared to general society. However, the average MBSS scores were not significantly different compared to the control group. Conclusions: It was noted that, women participating this study knowledgeable, but this did not necessarily transform into better behavior.
