The research used a survey approach.Questionnairewere distributed to 300 academics staff of government Polytechnics in Nigeria's south-south region. Only 280 questionnaires were usable for analysis. Pearson correlation analysis was used to examine the gathered data. The results indicated that there are positive and insignificant relationships between mentoring in the workplace and affective commitment. Second, there are favourable linkages and strong correlations between normative commitment and mentoring in the workplace. Third, there are negative and insignificant associations between mentorship and loyalty over time. Institutional leaders were urged to implement the study's recommendations for strengthening mentorship programs by providing clear criteria for mentors and mentees. Also, administrators should pair up new hires with seasoned senior academics who can act as mentors in their chosen fields.

While such may be necessary, it is also important to manage the risk involved. But the extent of impact of risk management on project performance has been obscured in literature. thus, this research will assess the impact of risk management on project cost performance with reference to selected house developer in Abuja city. A sample of 256 respondents was utilised and risk management measure in four standpoints: risk identification, risk assessment, risk response planning and risk monitoring & control. Multiple regression was vital for estimation. Results indicate that all the four variables are positive toward improving cost performance. In other words, risk identification, risk assessment, risk response planning and risk monitoring & control reduces cost by 26% to 45%, all things being equal. It was also noted that risk monitoring & control has the most influence of approximately 45% while risk response planning had the lowest influence of 26%, all things being equal. Therefore, the organisations should continue to improve in the aspect of risk management while sustaining tempo on training and retraining in this aspect.

The objectives of the study are to determine the impact of exchange rate (naira/dollar) volatility to Nigeria non oil export performance and the speed of adjustment using error correction method (ECM). The study used annual data from 1981 to 2017. The Augmented Dickey Fuller test was used to check for the presence of a unit root in the variables, and the cointegration was used to check if long-run relationship exists among the variables in the model and was carried out using the Johansen technique. The Arch test was used to test for the Arch effect (volatility) in the exchange rate. The ECM was used to determine the speed of adjustment. From the results, it was found that exchange rate has an ARCH effect on non oil export performance in Nigeria and more so, significantly and negatively on it. It was recommended that the managers of the economy should apply policies that can stabilize the exchange rate as the sector has the capability to generate jobs and reduce extreme poverty in the land.

Years of outdated infrastructure, inconsistent policy, political economy in business regulation, ... more Years of outdated infrastructure, inconsistent policy, political economy in business regulation, bad pricing, advertising, and product quality, as well as low or no access to finance by most entrepreneurs have plagued Nigeria's industrial sector, notably that of the country's NorthWest , for years. The manufacturing sector in North West Nigeria is not operating at its peak potential, despite the emphasis on penetration strategy (pricing, product, and promotion). The study's objective was to ascertain how penetration strategy affects the performance of the industrial sector in NorthWest Nigeria. Surveys were used as the primary method of the study's investigation. 81 people made up the study's population and sample size. The preferred statistical technique used in the study was multiple regression, and the respondents' responses to a questionnaire were used to gather the study's data. According to the findings, the penetration strategy's price (PRI and PROM = 0.02 + 0.14 and 0.02 + 1.71) and product (PROD = 0.2-1.30) components have a significant impact on the performance (effectiveness) of the manufacturing sector in North West Nigeria, both positively and negatively. The study advises the manufacturing sector in NorthWest Nigeria to continually altering price and promotion strategies to improve performance because doing so is an efficient way to draw in new clients. This is necessary for the market penetration plan to be implemented effectively. Spend more energy and time on a promotion to raise brand awareness. Due to this unfavourable impact, employ an efficient marketing plan that will raise product awareness in such places.

It is a truism that culture affects management hence the need for cross cultural management studies. This paper examines cross cultural aspects of management in different cultures including Africa culture. We have come to accept that there is need to adequately manage cultural diversity of workforce. Management in Africa should incorporate African culture in conjunction with western management best practices and models in order to achieve desirable results.

The study of the mechanism of snow bank formation was based on experimental investigations of the throwing machine rotor of the low-powered milling and rotary snow blower. Moistened sawdust was used as artificial snow. As the result of the conducted investigations, the nature of the snow bank formation has been determined and the regression equations for the distribution of the number of particles, total mass and average mass of individual particles of the material simulating one specific type of snow along the length of the snow bank have been obtained. The relative amount of the material transported by the rotor in relation to the total amount of material loaded into the rotor for the specified geometric and kinematic parameters of the rotor of the throwing machine has been found. The dependencies obtained make it possible to carry out simulation and visualization of snow bank formation during snow clearing operations, to choose the most rational parameters of the throwing machine of the milling and rotary snow blower, as well as to specify the strategy of snow clearing operations with the application of milling and rotary snow blowers.

This objective has been pursued theoretically by reviewing the different government policies on education and the place of entrepreneurship development in such policies. It is not a debate that economic development and sustainability are hinged on creativity and innovation, which are the defining features of entrepreneurial education. It also follows that if entrepreneurial education must be used to define the country’s developmental efforts towards a sustainable future, the focus must be on school age youths, to whom the future belongs. This paper argues that, though certain policies on education like that for polytechnics emphasise vocational and technical education and skills, there remains a dire need for real orientation of concerned institutions towards building entrepreneurial mind-set in the youths. Certain theories on entrepreneurial education and development ar...

It applied the literature study method. The study highlights the methods of statistical quality control as well as the economic benefits derivable from the use of and adherence to the processes of quality control in general and scientific and statistical quality control in particular. Quality consciousness, consumers' satisfaction, cost reduction and optimum utilization of resources are some of the numerous economic benefits of scientific and statistical quality control. While wastages, decrease in sales and decrease in profitability are some adverse economic implementations of the absence of or neglect to use statistical quality control in an organization. The campaign for quality assurance should be driven to the grass root for all and sundry, especially the manufacturing sector, to become conversant with the need for quality products, services and results delivery. This will make their product compete favourably with foreign products.

The world has become dynamic and uncertain and the business world is not left out in the change that is sweeping globally across all spheres, especially in the management of business enterprises. Since the business environment and terrain have become so dynamic, uncertain and given to change as it is now, scientific business forecasting can no longer remain an option but a sine qua non in the management of business enterprises, if these enterprises and businesses are to escape and survive the mucky and slippery waters of competition, change, uncertainty and dynamism. This study employed the literature study methodology in its approach. The study systematically brings out and highlights the business forecasting techniques and the drawbacks associated with the usage of these techniques. It also examines the importance of business forecasting to business enterprise, and business forecasting nuggets managers need to observe and adhere to in forecasting. The study concludes that urgent and concerted consideration and attention be given to scientific business forecasting in the management of business enterprises to bring the economy out of the woods and troubled waters.

While there have been many discussions over which method is best used to determine how instructional effectiveness is calculated, one main area method used by administrators is either the student evaluation of teaching (SET) or student evaluation of faculty (SEF). This paper proposes a new model where administrators consider other additional metrics as a means of determining instructor effectiveness and student learning. Two specific metrics include using a pre/post Computing Self-Efficacy survey evaluation and a specific task item Self-Efficacy survey. These metrics were applied to an introductory information system course. The results indicate that by utilizing both metrics faculty and administrators can find a better method for determining student engagement and instructional effectiveness in the classroom than the tradition student evaluation of teaching method.
