This study aims to examine the predictability of emotional intelligence and five factor personali... more This study aims to examine the predictability of emotional intelligence and five factor personality traits on career decision difficulties. The study group consisted of 432 students (246 women, 186 men) who participated in five different high schools in Adana and voluntarily participated in the study. Data collection tool were composed of Career Decision Difficulties Questionnaire, Emotional Intelligence Assessment Scale and Adjective Based Personality Scale. This study intends to identify the relationship between personality traits, emotional intelligence and career decision difficulties. To test the research hypotheses, a path model was developed to test causal relationships between the variables. In the model, the scores of the dimensions of career decision difficulty were used as indicators to create a latent construct. Emotional intelligence and five factor personality subscales were considered as observed variables emotional instability was found to be a positive predictor of career decision difficulty. However, extraversion and self-awareness were negative predictors of career difficulty.

In this study, it was aimed to adapt the Career Goal Feedback Scale (CGFS) to Turkish. The resear... more In this study, it was aimed to adapt the Career Goal Feedback Scale (CGFS) to Turkish. The research was conducted on 1.077 students from two different universities and five different high schools. As a result of confirmatory factor analysis conducted to test the validity of the structure of the scale, it was seen that the original form consisting of six dimensions and 24 items which was adapted to the Turkish was confirmed. The Cronbach Alpha internal consistency coefficient of the scale was found to be .88 in the data group of the university students and .85 in the data group of the high school students. Test-retest correlation coefficient of the scale was calculated as .77 in the data group of university students and .73 in the data group high school students. Correlations between the English and Turkish forms of the CGFS were found to be positively and highly correlated. The item-total correlations of the scale were found to vary between .36 and .62 for university students and between .31 and .56 for high school students. In the analyses made for the concurrent validity of the scale, it was determined that the CGFS had a positive and high correlation with the Career Stress Scale and negative and medium correlation with the General Self-Efficacy Scale. The research findings provide important evidence that the six-factor original structure of the CGFS is validated and can be used as a valid and reliable measurement tool for assessing feedback on career goals.

Bu araştırmada Blau (2003) tarafından geliştirilen dört boyutlu Mesleki Bağlılık Ölçeğini Türkçey... more Bu araştırmada Blau (2003) tarafından geliştirilen dört boyutlu Mesleki Bağlılık Ölçeğini Türkçeye uyarlayarak, geçerlik ve güvenirliğini incelemek amaçlanmaktadır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu Adana ili Çukurova ilçesindeki devlet okullarında görev yapan toplam 525 öğretmen oluşturmaktadır. Doğrulayıcı ve açımlayıcı faktör analizi için iki farklı öğretmen grubundan veri toplanmış, toplanan veriler SPSS 24.0 ve AMOS 22.00 istatistik programları ile analiz edilmiştir. Yapı geçerliği kapsamında yapılan analiz sonuçları 22 maddeden ve dört boyuttan oluşan modelin iyi uyum değerlerine sahip olduğunu göstermiştir (x2=421.635, sd=200, x2/sd=2.108, NFI=.90, IFI=.95, CFI=.95, GFI=.87, RMR=.80, RMSEA=.64, SRMR=.06). Faktör analizi sonuçlarına göre dört boyuttan oluşan ölçek, varyansın %68.88’ini açıklamaktadır. ÖZET Bu çalışmada Hirschi, Freund ve Herrmann (2014) tarafından geliştirilen Kariyer Adanmışlık Ö... more ÖZET Bu çalışmada Hirschi, Freund ve Herrmann (2014) tarafından geliştirilen Kariyer Adanmışlık Ölçeğinin (KAÖ) Türkçeye uyarlanması amaçlanmıştır. Araştırma 699 üniversite öğrencisi üzerinde yapılmıştır. Doğrulayıcı Faktör Analizi sonucunda ölçeğin Türkçe formunun orijinal ölçekteki gibi tek boyutlu ve 9 maddeden oluştuğu görülmüştür. Ölçeğe ilişkin Cronbach Alpha iç tutarlık katsayısı .88 olarak hesaplanmıştır. Dört hafta arayla uygulanan test-tekrar test sonucunda hesaplanan korelasyonun orta düzeyde ve anlamlı (r = .67, p<.001) olduğu görülmüştür. Ölçeğin madde-toplam korelasyonlarının .49 ile .80 arasında değiştiği bulunmuştur. KAÖ'nün kariyer keşfi, kariyer planlaması ve kariyer kararı öz-yeterliği ile pozitif ve orta düzeyde ilişkilere sahip olduğu görülmüştür. Araştırma sonucuna göre KAÖ'nün üniversite öğrencilerinin kariyer adanmışlıklarını (proaktif kariyer davranışları) değerlendiren geçerli ve güvenilir bir ölçme aracı olarak kullanılabileceği söylenebilir. ABSTRACT The purpose of the present study is to conduct validity and reliability studies of the Turkish form of the Career Engagement Scale (CAS), which was developed by Hirschi, Freund and Herrmann (2014). The study group consisted of 699 university students. As a result of Confirmatory Factor Analysis, it was seen that the Turkish form of the scale consisted of one-dimensional and 9 items as in the original scale form. The Cronbach Alpha internal consistency coefficient for the scale was calculated .88. It was found that the correlation between total scale scores as a result of test-retesting was moderate and meaningful (r = .67, p<.001). The item-total correlations of the scale were found to vary between .49 and .80. It was obtained CAS had positive and moderate relations with career exploration, career planning and career decision self-efficacy. CAS is a reliable and valid measurement tool to assess the career engagement (proactive career behaviors) of the university students.
