It brings general approach to solve specific issues in the field of presented topic. This approach is unusual, as it does not consist of partial solutions and summarization of knowledge, but it offers new methodology for problem solving, which is targeted to the nature of the problem. The methodology is designed to be well applicable. The textbook is useful for studying topics related to sensitivity, tolerance and robustness in dynamic systems. It can be also used by the designers of various complex dynamic systems and also as the stimulus for further theoretical, algorithmic and software supported development in the field of presented topic.

The automotive industry is providing technical equipment support in which simulations are widely applied. The purpose of this article is to establish a safety distance between vehicles for the ACC system through the simulation of vehicles under different conditions. Vehicle braking distances are obtained from many surfaces. The result of simulation is to establish safe separation of two consecutive vehicles of under the same conditions.

The main reason of road accidents is the driver's behaviour: excessive speed, alcohol, tiredness etc. The development of assistance systems is directed towards isolated systems of cars, by this problematic and slower way, a definition and development of standards for road danger zones and special markings (that are directly designed for assistance systems) could then be produced and implemented.

In particular, the organisation of the production process has conflicting goals: production costs have to be kept as low as possible while specific customer demands should be satisfied to a maximum degree. Consequently, modern production management aims to satisfy high standards of product quality as well as meeting delivery dates under economic conditions requiring progressively smaller lot sizes. The continually changing objectives place increasing emphasis on the clear formulation and use of decision techniques supported by computers.

It provides the basic methods and procedures. The simulation optimization can be alternative procedure to classic analytical methods. This procedure involves more factors that influence lot size, than analytical methods. Therefore it is more accurate.

It is emphasized that the implementation of cloud computing services is a promising trend in the development of modern ICT pedagogical systems. The concept of cloud-based open learning and research platform is considered. The benchmarking studies of using ICT tools for learning and research within the pedagogical systems of higher education are fulfilled. The analysis and evaluation of the existing experience of using different types of software packages to support learning and research processes within the cloud-based environment are proposed. The issues of integration of knowledge-based services, language technologies and database network services within the open systems of learning and research are covered. A model of the cloud-based open learning and research collaborative environment involving the use of cloud-based component...

There is an absence of approaches based on knowledge exchange between machines and humans in knowledge based processes. This paper describes such an approach. Within an empirical participatory action research on technology enhanced learning the issue of knowledge is understood as a key element of any automation of human knowledge processing. Teaching is thus considered as a typical knowledge based process. In this context, the utility model is also used, which implemented “virtual knowledge” as a universal construct, which “interdisciplinarilly” bridges the mental processes of humans and the physical processes performed by computers. Examples of such solutions are briefly mentioned. It is also emphasized that a complex computer supported collaborativ...

Target activities were focused on FP7 Partner search and information exchange, mainly in the field of e-learning, technology enhanced learning (TEL) and blended learning. The possibility of language support via technology was also investigated. As a separate part of the information exchange an active contribution of the FMST at the Central European Conference on Information and Intelligent Systems (Varaždin) can also be mentioned. It should be underlined that today's teachers must perform the three basic activities of - teaching, publishing and participating in research projects. In addition, they must perform daily administrative and organisational activities related to...

The ISS is a tandem system which consists of two main subsystems: RAPO and ESPRA The RAPO subsystem is responsible for schedule generation and is based on the deterministic discrete-event simulation. A newly developed algorithm which speeded up schedule preparation has been built into RAPO. The ESPRA subsystem is an expert system that selects the most promising scheduling strategies for further use in RAPO. The inference engine of ESPRA is based on a method which optimises the solution process for any rule-based backward-chaining diagnostic system.

It comes as one of a series of related papers the authors have been working on and, the main aim, based on the consideration of such tips and their use, lies on allowing decision makers to better select and apply the most appropriate operators, what helps to escape from local optima when a construction heuristic, for the VRP, has been trapped. Each one of the tips given, besides resting on a good literature review and having taken into account some of the gaps and achievements remaining in the states of the art and practice, is mainly based on some important elements as the way the initial solution is obtained, the particularities of each case study, the availability resources, the precision desired for the local search, among others. Some frequently and successfully applied neighborhood operators are given in the appendix accompanying the tips.

The objective function expresses the production costs (it is additive nonlinear function with more variables). The constrains are: flow time, capacity utilization and number of finished parts. The mathematical model is either very complicated for analytical solution, or it is not explicitly formulateble. Although optimizing methods are implemented in simulators, often they are not effective enough. The genetic algorithms seem to be a simply alternative for the solution of this problem.
