This article analyzes the role of language as a fundamental issue in the understanding of ethno-c... more This article analyzes the role of language as a fundamental issue in the understanding of ethno-cultural identity of the Dungans, one of the special Diasporas in Uzbekistan. The national language has always been relevant, especially in a small number of nations. That is why national language is considered as the most important issue in a small number of nations compared to other nations. Among these few nationalities, the Dungans of Uzbekistan are also trying to preserve their national language. Today's problems of the Dungans of Uzbekistan related to the national language and the scientific basis of their solution are also described in this article.

An example of this is the Dungan people living in Uzbekistan today. Because the Dungan culture is unique for the society of Uzbekistan and differs sharply from the local culture.They is ethnically one with the Hui people of China and migrated to Central Asia, especially Uzbekistan, in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. In Uzbekistan, most of them live in Tashkent region, Tashkent city and many cities of the Fergana Valley.

This article focuses on the origin of the Dungan people, the concept of ethno cultural identity, ... more This article focuses on the origin of the Dungan people, the concept of ethno cultural identity, the role of Islam in the formation of the Dungan people. At the same time, an attempt was made to shed light on the role of religion in the lives of Dungans and similar Diasporas on the basis of comparative analysis. The reasons why Islam, which once served as the most important marker of ethno cultural identity in the life of the Dungans, have given way to the Dungan language with the change of space have been revealed. The role of Islam in the ethno-cultural identity of the Dungans of modern Central Asia, especially Uzbekistan, its differences between different categories of the Dungans and the reasons for these differences were discussed.
