A good knowledge of the generation, transportation, collection/disposal, treatment/recycling and general management will go a long way towards helping the environmentalists in planning and designing, to handle the problems associated with solid waste. This paper therefore examines the waste disposal systems with particular reference to residential core areas of the Bauchi metropolis. Field surveys of interview schedules and observations were carried out in three residential zones with proper analysis and discussions. The results show that the household sector produces the largest amount of waste in the city and also highlighted the implications of the result for the environment and sustainable management of solid waste solutions with correspon...

This review work exposes the various architectural sites and monuments in Bauchi state; Nigeria. Bauchi state is home to the Yankari Game Reserve, rock paintings at Geji and Shira, the state museum and among others. The study area under exposition further discusses tourism potential, architecture, population growth, preservation of cultural heritage and immense contribution to nation building. Hence, the contribution of this work can never be over emphasized as the results and recommendations are well relevant to professionals, tourists and future possibilities of explorations in the region.

Also, there is a critical look at the recent and future sustainable developments as a result and trying to identify what their impact on our construction will be. The forecast is that, in information systems, the threshold between on-site and off-site will soon disappear, and that there will not be any difference some projected future applications would include Actuators/Full automation, Transducers/Controls, Robotics, Internet Intelligent agents, Advanced PDA, Mobileteleworking, Character Recognitions, Trackers, Expert Systems, Real- Time Conferencing, Project Information Management – “The Virtual Reality Round Table”, etc

Nigeria which starts from the difficulties in securing admission, registration
protocols, securing of accommodation, and others. It assessed the rigors within
the residency period for National Diploma and Higher National Diploma
programmes, the additional one year compulsory Industrial training as well as
the pre and post National Youth Service Corps experiences. Data were mainly
from the secondary source. The study revealed that in the whole of the North-East
Geo-political zone, only Federal Polytechnic Bauchi was qualified to run National
Diploma and Higher National Diploma in Architectural Technology and hence
making admission very difficult for even the qualified students who want to study
the course. Based on the above, it was recommended among others that the
construction industry, Nigerian Institute of Architects and the various Polytechnics
running Architectural Technology programmes should collaborate with relevant
authorities in order to shorten the period of the tutelage (training) of an
Architectural Technologist right from the onset.

Earlier in the days, accommodations were never an issue as man could make or create a resting place for him and his family with limited resources. He collects local materials like timber, stone, mud thatch, bush rope, etc with one or two assistant and able to put together a house to accommodate his activities. The paper tries to explain sustainable development as that which harnesses the needs of the present local materials without compromising the ability of the future generations cannot therefore be under estimated. This review is meant to encourage sub-Sahara African, researcher, government and private entities, construction team, clients and contractors committed efforts though research and development into these untapped building materials and highlighting other contributions to environmental designs in order to bails out of housing problems.
