The four classes of animals had free access to food and water. The results show that the body weight of the batch of heavy chicks was statistically strongest at the age of 7 days (+ 8 %, P <0.01), 14 days (+ 7%, P <0.004) and 42 days (+ 3 %, P<0.001). The results of the feed consumption of the heavy and medium chicks were also marked by a significant improvement of this parameter at the age of 7 days (-6 %, P = 0.004) and 14 days (-4 % P = 0.03). On the other hand, chicken from light chicks showed lower performances, regardless of the stage of rearing or the parameter studied.
