By examining the historical roles of key figures such as Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Vinayak Savarkar, and M.S. Golwalkar, it traces the roots of this conflict back to the fight for independence.
Today, as India grapples with these opposing visions, the Constitution’s promise of a diverse, inclusive, and democratic nation faces significant risks. Hope this exploration serves as a reminder of the importance of safeguarding the core values of equality, liberty, and fraternity in the face of rising authoritarianism and religious exclusivism.
The rise of Hindutvadi midst not only threatens the secular fabric of the nation but also poses a direct challenge to India’s democracy. As the ideology promotes a political Hindu’s - majority state, it undermines the pluralism upon which Indian democracy thrives. By privileging one religion over others, Hindutva erodes the Constitutional guarantee of equality for all citizens. Furthermore, the growing intolerance toward dissent and free speech -hallmarks of any democracy - suggests a drift toward authoritarianism.
The suppression of diverse viewpoints and the marginalisation of minorities weaken the core democratic principles of freedom, equality, and representation. Additionally, the endorsement of caste -based hierarchies threatens social justice, making it harder for marginalised communities to fully participate in the democratic process. If unchecked, the majoritarian and authoritarian tendencies of Hindutva politics of superiority could erode India’s democratic institutions and destabilise its societal harmony, endangering the nation’s identity as a secular, democratic republic.
In this version, I have incorporated both the core values of the Indian Constitution and the ideological conflict surrounding the struggle for independence, Gandhi and Nehru's visions and the risk to these values today.

The report sighted inadequate induction and support from employers could be behind the high number of referrals of black, Asian and minority ethnic doctors to GMC investigations. ‘Fair to Refer’ hopes to stop doctors from getting caught up in unnecessary probes in the first place and focus on employers, rather than regulators or inspectors. While the report is generally welcomed by many organisations, one might think that this realisation is not new. The real problem may indeed be at a Board level where Non-executive members often fail to take their corporate responsibilities seriously and hold the executive to account. In the absence of an effective mechanism for meaningful engagement with clinicians and front-line professionals, the blame culture and the unsupportive mindset may remain unchanged.

He deeply understood the widespread economic and social devastation across the region, recognising that poverty and illiteracy were rampant among the population. He believed that for India to truly experience freedom, these challenges had to be addressed, freeing the nation not only from foreign domination but also from internal inequalities.
