It is used to make decisions, and one of the most relevant statistical methods in research is the use of parametric and non-parametric tests. The first is based on assumptions about the basic distribution of the population from which the sample is drawn, and the second on assumptions about the shape or criteria of the basic distribution of the population. They can get an overview of the population to compare and make complete predictions.

MATERIAL AND METHOD: Retrospective transversal study reviewing data from software "Salud al Paso". It was calculated the number of people that had alcohol consuming and from it who do physical activity in general level and by zones or parish. As well, it was analyzed the association between the variable physical activity, alcohol consuming and the confusing variables through Chi2. Finally, it was calculated "odds ratios" by multiple regression. The analyzed variables were gender, age, IMC, smoker, education and parishes. RESULTS: It was calculated that 7675 people consume alcohol, this represents 14,35%, of which 1159 people belong to zonal am 1 (15,10%). In the same way, the Chi 2 test determined the significant association between the variable alcohol consuming and every variable of the study (p=0,001). Finally, the multiple regression found significant associations with risk factors in the variable,

The impact of vaccination was not evaluated prior to the implementation of this strategy worldwide in patients with cancer. We aimed to characterize SARSCOV 2 infection in a local cohort of vaccinated oncologic patients. Methods: The ACHOCC-19 VAC registry is a national multi-center observational cohort study. Data were collected between April 2021 and March 2022. Inclusion criteria were: age more than 18 years, confirmed diagnosis of cancer (solid tumors), be receiving treatment or being followed-up and have received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine. 11 oncologists from 10 health institutions participated. The primary outcome was 30 days mortality due to COVID 19 infection. Secondary outcome was to describe adverse effects related to vaccination. A descriptive univariate and inferential analysis were performed. Results: 720 patients ...

The impact of vaccination was not evaluated prior to the implementation of this strategy worldwide in this kind of population. It was proposed to evaluate the effectiveness of immunization during the second phase of our investigation. Methods: Cohort study derived from the National Registry of Patients with Cancer and COVID-19 (ACHOCC-19). Data were collected from June 2021 since vaccine was available. Patients were: older than 18 years, diagnosed with cancer (solid tumors), treated and/or under follow-up, and with COVID-19 infection. The comparative analysis of the vaccinated and non-vaccinated cohort is presented. Outcomes included: all-cause mortality within 30 days of infection diagnosis, hospitalization, and mechanical ventilation. In early stages, it may have a better prognosis and some possibility of cure. In Colombia, given the increase in cases, a national registry of the disease has been initiated with the aim of characterizing the population and establishing the prognostic factors in the local context. Methods: Cohort study based on data from the Epidemiological Registry of Malignant Melanoma in Colombia (REMMEC). For this first phase, data from January 2011 to December 2021 were analyzed. Patients were older than 18 years, with confirmed diagnosis of localized melanoma. Mortality and recurrence incidence rates were calculated using the Kaplan-Meier method, overall survival was estimated at 5 years of follow-up for each stage. Finally, a prognostic model was made for the mortality outcome, using the Cox proportional hazards method. Results: 759 patients were included, the mean age was 66 years (SD: 15.6), 57% women (...

Laguna de Guatavita, a small, equatorial, high-altitude crater lake in the Eastern Range of the Colombian Andes, was once of high cultural importance to pre-Columban inhabitants, the original location of the legendary El Dorado. We investigated the factors regulating the primary production in Laguna de Guatavita (4°58’50 ” N-73°46’43 ” W, alt. 2 935m.a.s.l., area: 0.11km2, maximum depth: 30m), during a series of three intensive field campaigns, which were conducted over a year-long period in 2003-2004. In each, standard profiles of tempera-ture, oxygen concentration and light intensity were determined on each of 16-18 consecutive days. Samples were collected and analysed for chlorophyll and for biologically-significant solutes in GF/F-filtered water (NH4

To this end, a review has been made of various documentary sources that revolve around judicial decisions, legal norms or plans related to the diagnosis of gastric cancer. Despite the fact that cancer is considered a public health problem in the world, regional and local, the information retrieved shows that gastric cancer or stomach cancer is one of the main types of cancer with a higher mortality rate, and that its timely treatment depends mainly on accurate and timely diagnosis. In judicial courts erroneous or late diagnoses generate millions of indemnities, so it is a problem that transcends social incidence to be configured in a problem of an economic nature. Due to the above, in recent years international instruments and laws have been formulated with the objective of controlling cancer and reducing the number of...
