Its main function is to provide an optimal intrafollicular microenvironment to modulate oocyte maturation. The aim of this study was to determine the metabolomic profile of preovulatory follicular fluid (PFF) in jennies. For this purpose, PFF was collected from 10 follicles of five jennies in heat. Then, PFF samples were analysed by nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and heteronuclear single quantum correlation (2D 1 H/ 13 C HSQC). Our study revealed the presence of at least 27 metabolites in the PFF of jennies (including common amino acids, carboxylic acids, amino acid derivatives, alcohols, saccharides, fatty acids, and lactams):

They work for isolated signals on which selective excitation can be successfully applied but, as it happens in other selective experiments, fail for overlapped signals. To circumvent this limitation, a doubly-selective TOCSY-GSERF scheme is presented for the measurement of Jin protons resonating in crowded regions. This new experiment takes advantage of the editing features of an initial TOCSY transfer to uncover hidden resonances that become accessible to perform the subsequent frequency-selective refocusing. In this field, nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy approach has already been used to uncover (in)fertility biomarkers in the seminal plasma (SP) of several mammalian species. However, NMR studies profiling SP metabolome to uncover in vivo fertility biomarkers are yet to be carried out in pigs. Thus, this study aimed to evaluate the putative relationship between the presence/concentration of SP-metabolites and in vivo fertility outcomes. To this end, 24 entire ejaculates (three ejaculates per boar) were collected from artificial insemination (AI)-boars throughout a year (one ejaculate every four months). Immediately after collection, ejaculates were centrifuged (1,500×g for 10 min twice) to obtain SP-samples and were stored (− 80°C) for subsequent metabolomic analysis by NMR spectroscopy. Fertility outcom...

Measurements on samples heat treated up to 450 °C for different times have been performed by ex-situ X-ray powder diffraction (XRPD) and solid state magic angle spinning (MAS) nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR). Ex-situ X-ray powder diffraction experiments conducted on full desorbed samples allowed to identify nanocrystalline MgB 2 and metallic Na as dehydrogenation products. 11 B and 23 Na NMR analyses have been also carried out in order to evaluate the structural evolution of decomposed materials. Our measurements show that the local structure of MgB 2 was influenced by the replace of Mg with Na atoms in the Mg sites. Moreover, amorphous Na 2 [B 12 H 12 ] was detected in the partially desorbed sample and in the final products of the decomposition reaction. The presence of the [B 12 H 12 ] 2-anion was confirmed by both direct comparison with the 11 B{ 1 H} NMR spectrum of pure Na 2 [B 12 H 12 ] and dynamic Cross Polarization experiments.

Ureas in both enantiomeric forms were obtained from a common chiral precursor via the selective manipulation of functional groups. These compounds have been subjected to a structural study

A novel method to enhance the reaction kinetics of the reactive hydride composite 2NaBH 4 + MgH 2... more A novel method to enhance the reaction kinetics of the reactive hydride composite 2NaBH 4 + MgH 2 is described. It has been discovered that short-term exposure to a moist atmosphere has a very beneficial effect on the desorption reaction of the 2NaBH 4 + MgH 2 mixture. By this procedure it is possible to achieve, after drying, both faster desorption kinetics and greater amounts of released hydrogen compared to ball-milled material without further treatment.

The predominance of eight-membered hydrogen-bonded rings has been manifested for (trans,trans)- and (trans,cis)-beta-dipeptides while the formation of six-membered rings is preferred for the (cis,trans)- beta-dipeptide similarly to the previously described (cis,cis)-diastereomer.
