MLIs have great advantages such as reduced switching stress, low electromagnetic interferences (EMI) and low harmonics in the output responses, thus it is used for medium voltage and high power applications. Conventional cascaded and other MLI topologies are less cost effective due to its huge size and weight since it employs more number of elements such as power switches, passive elements and sources. A high gain multilevel inverter with reduced stress and passive components based on Switched Capacitor(SC) technique is proposed in this paper. Addition of switched capacitor cells increases the number of output voltage levels as well as improve the gain of the circuit. Different control strategies are analysed on the proposed topology and % THD is measured. The simulation is done with MATLAB/ SIMULINK 2017a and results are obtained. Variation of modulation index will result in corresponding variation in output voltage levels and thus the gain can also be varied.

The converter attains Zero Voltage Switched (ZVS) turn on of the active switches which reduces switching losses. The voltage ratings of components and energy volumes of passive components of the converter are reduced compared to the conventional zero voltage transition converters. The proposed converter has also achieved voltage conversion ratio almost double compared to the conventional boost converter. The performance of the converter is analyzed using MATLAB/Simulink R2010a.

Sound source localization techniques are used in commercial applications like improving speech quality in hands free telephony, video conferencing to military applications like SONAR, surveillance systems and devices to locate the sources of artillery fire. A method is proposed to localize an acoustic source within a frequency band from 100Hz to 4 KHz in two dimensions using microphone array by calculating the direction of arrival (DOA) of the acoustic signals. Direction of arrival (DOA) estimation of acoustic signals using a set of spatially separated microphones uses the phase information present in signals. For this the time-delays are estimated for each pair of microphones in the array. From the known array geometry and the direction of arrival, the location of source can be obtained.

THE requirement in high-frequency power conversion through low-power compact electronic circuits ... more THE requirement in high-frequency power conversion through low-power compact electronic circuits has increased in recent years. Boost-based topologies and their derivatives have a large range of applications in front-end circuits. The proposed CD-Cell based converter is a boost converter from conventional SEPIC converter. It has a reduced source ripple current together with a better boosting capability at lower duty ratios. Addition of a capacitor and a diode transforms buck-boost voltage gain features of SEPIC into boost nature keeping low ripple content features. The converter used here combines the main characteristics of both Boost and SEPIC converter having a single active power switch with a reduced voltage stress across the intermediate capacitors used. The CD-Cell based converter is simulated and validated in MATLAB/SIMULINK version 2017a. The efficiency of the converter is about 95%. Voltage gain and efficiency of the converter can be increased by placing a switched inductor. The simulation with switched inductor is validated using MATLAB/SIMULINK.

The implemented converter used for synchronous rectification. In this converter, diode is replaced by switch to reduce losses. For this converter, 180 degree phase shifted pulses and its complementary pulses are required. Circuit is simulated with 200V DC input voltage and 24V DC output voltage is verified. Here an interleaved zero-current transition (ZCT) buck converter where two sets of switches are operating out-of-phase and share the load power equally is introduced. Turn-on transitions at zero current helps to reduce switching losses and a significant reduction of the losses associated with diode reverse recovery are accomplished through addition of two small inductors. The simulation of different interleaved buck converters is completed with MATLAB. This paper also presents a comparison of switching loss and conduction loss of interleaved hard switched buck converter, interleaved zero current transition buck converter, and interleaved zero current transition three level buck converter. The loss analysis of different interleaved buck converters is completed with the help of thermal modules in Powersim.

In this paper , in order to incorporate these devices a modification on the existing load flow is carried out. Newton-Raphson technique is used to carry out the load flow programming. The load flow results are then used for the study the effectiveness of these devices. Also a comparative study on the different types of devices(devices with different specifications )are done.

The aim of this work is to implement wheel chair direction control with hand gesture reorganization. This paper proposes an integrated approach to real time detection, tracking and direction recognition of hands, which is intended to be used as a human-robot interaction interface for the intelligent wheelchair. This paper demonstrates that accelerometers can be used to effectively translate finger and hand gestures into computer interpreted signals. For gesture recognition the accelerometer data is calibrated and filtered. The accelerometers can measure the magnitude and direction of gravity in addition to movement induced acceleration. In order to calibrate the accelerometers, we rotate the device's sensitive axis with respect to gravity and use the resultant signal as an absolute measurement. In this project automatic controls are incorporated in a wheelchair. All the electronic gadgets in patient's room can be controlled by certain gestures from the patient. The signals for room automation are communicated through Zigbee modules. Also there is an emergency call alert system in the wheelchair. For that GSM modules are used. For the wheelchair control we use a 3 axis accelerometer, which effectively translate finger and hand gestures into computer interpreted signals. Integrating a single chip wireless solution with a MEMS accelerometer would yield an autonomous device small enough to apply to the fingernails because of their small size and weight.

High voltage gains are obtained by employing a coupled inductor with same primary and secondary winding turns in the converter. Beside from high voltage gain, its average value of switch current and voltage stress on switches are lower compared to conventional dc-dc converter. The steady state analysis and operating principles in continuous conduction mode are discussed. Pulse width modulation (PWM) is used to control the switches. To study the performance of the proposed converter, simulations has been carried out in MATLAB2010 environment. Feedback is also given to the circuit using a pi controller and relational operator to get a constant output voltage for such applications.
