The two nations share common ideals in the domain of foreign policy, such as adherence to multilateralism, respect for a rule-based international order and eliminating the North-South divide. The article examines how the Indian policy towards Afghanistan even after the takeover of Taliban stresses on norm development and transcendental power as India strives for a peaceful and stable Afghanistan marked by a strong democracy and rule of law. India’s security concerns in Afghanistan after the seizure of the Taliban are also emphasised.

However, attempts at creating this “ever closer union” have focused on homogenizing European citizens as a single entity without taking into account the heterogeneous differentials among such citizens. Gender differential is one such important aspect. The present paper analyzes the citizenship under EU from a feminist perspective. It attempts to conceptualize the term of citizenship and delineates the basic features of the European citizenship. Thereafter, the major feminist criticisms of the notion of citizenship are examined with specific regards to the gendered discrimination against EU citizens.

Now, with all the euphoria of victory celebrations going on, it is also now time to ponder upon the priorities of new government. One of the main criticisms levied on the outgoing United Progressive Alliance (UPA) by Modi during his aggressive election campaign was the pursuance of a timid foreign policy1, and the repeated acts of terror, infiltration, and land grab by neighbouring countries, namely Pakistan and China. The structural and ideological basis of Indian foreign policy and the existence of a permanent bureaucracy mean that there will be continuity in many areas, but there should be changes introduced by the Modi government on a few fronts. Primacy should be accorded to a complete intolerance of Pakistan sponsored militancy, and establishing cordial relations with smaller neighbours like Bangladesh, Nepal, and Sri Lanka

As the largest collective organisation representing these states, the Non-Aligned Movement has been the most vocal in demanding an improvement in the working of the UNSC. This article examines how the movement has reiterated its belief in making accountability, consistency and transparency the key elements of UNSC reform along with the demand for increasing regional representation in the council to overcome the existing democratic deficit.

One of the major reasons for the persisting conflict can be attributed to the lack of sufficient political will and an un-accommodative attitude of the Bangladeshi ruling elites, including the Awami League. Given the nature of the conflict, the attending ethnic question should be seen in the broader context of democratic governance. The socio-economic development of indigenous people of CHT region should be integrated into the priorities of the Bangladesh government and the reconciliation and integration process must ensure that the indigenous people of the CHT are granted their constitutional rights.
