Multiple digital technologies like data analytics, enterprise mobility, social networks, cloud computing, robotics, block chain, and internet of things (IOT) are pushing radical changes in the ways of working (WoW). People with strong technological skills are demanding changes to organizations towards two-way business interaction in order to meet the needs and expectations. But consumers who are technology users expect new information and knowledge products and services based on technological potential. It remains to the organizations to define strategies for this transformation, seeking to adapt their organizational and information systems to this new paradigm of digital transformation.

The easy adoption of the new technologies by the people, the paradigm of the availability of the new distribution channels, the reduction of the time-to-market, among other examples, have demanded to the responsible ones of the organizations and the SI dynamic of management, and adequate framework of the stated challenges. The preparation and management of the associated changes presuppose a coordinated and coherent combination of four vital axes for organizational success: business performance, information management, systems architecture and information technologies, and relational positioning. In this area, the development of an urban view of the value chain and its participants and the adoption of a logistics perspective on the momentum appear to be the primary adjustment in the support of organizational models to business.

The powerful computer capabilities provide new frontiers of economic and social human activities. Information, about employees, consumers, and markets, becomes more relevant when it enables economic decisions and impacts on the organization's competitiveness. Recent examples such as fake news show a necessity of a comprehensive and multidimensional economic and social approach to frame the use of algorithms and technologies to guarantee suitable ethical patterns in the information society. It is important to analyze the sensibility of economic stakeholders to the ethical limits of information collection and treatment about consumers and technology users. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the proposed model for ethical analysis through a proof of concept applied to a Portuguese energy operator, framing the identification and mitigation of the ethical risks associated with the continuous digital transformation process.

This chapter, carried out by the European Club for Information Systems Governance in 2011 and 2012, provides evidence about the governance practices adopted in the area of information systems by large economic organizations in Portugal.

New paradigms arisen recently, looking to satisfy economical and social agents' needs, but they hardly combat the lack of efficiency and mainly efficacy perception people have on public initiatives. The concept of public value can be defined as something that improves the life conditions for a community and whose benefits are appreciated by that community. Defining what is valuable for society, and considering this definition to establish the goals and the extent of a public initiative, is one of the toughest challenges in public administration. The results for a specific public initiative must the needs and expectations of society and, at the same time, observe the laws and regulations, and follow the experts' advice. The outcomes and expected value are conditioned by the capability to access information and by the way this information is transmitted to stakeholders. In this article, we propose a questionnaire to identify and map key stakeholders for a specific public initiative, in order to identify and understand the potential interested individuals and groups. This helps public officers to identify the best way to share information with those interested, and to evaluate the generation of public value. By using this questionnaire we were able to identify the key stakeholders for an exports encouragement program in a medium-size city in Brazil, whose vision must be considered to create public value for this public program.

The complexity of the markets is bringing complexity to the functioning of economic organizations. The pressure of technological innovation challenges the need for governance on organizational systems, in particular on information systems. But the role of technological innovation is pressing for the re-qualification and re-balance of jobs and professions themselves. This process has come to assert itself as a result of the affirmation of Industry 4.0, where, evidently, technologies accelerate the replacement of human presence in the production system.

Equipment maintenance proves to be critical in supplying markets and meeting consumer needs. Regarding the maintenance of equipment, most managers are faced with the technical indications of suppliers, serving as a reference for the respective interventions. However, these indications often do not contemplate the contingency of certain situations, excessive hours of operation, or temperatures higher than those indicated. Preventive maintenance assumes an important role in the maintenance area by allowing interventions that are more appropriate to the wear and tear of the equipment. The technological potential associated with the internet of things or analytics allows the generation of economic value by guaranteeing the adequate conditions of the equipment and by avoiding disruptions in supply to the markets.

The increase in computational power of the technologies, associated with the activities of the people and organizations, economic know-how development needs of the market, the imperative of participation in economic dynamics established, among other things, is critical to the survival and for the sustainability of organizations. This is the dimension of competitive intelligence. But the term intelligence is not limited only to the external side of organizations, where this concept has gained broad meaning. This should also encompass the internal domain of organizations, organizational intelligence, and in this sense, refers to the centrality of functioning, flexibility of the articulation of resources, the indispensability of the systems architecture, and to the management insight. The ability to see important issues in the chain of value is crucial to identify the most important factors for success, to anticipate the competition, and to have pro-active management instead of reacting to market pressures.

Adapting with the reconfiguration of its internal resources has become essential for the survival of firms. In the midst of these changes in the market, the concepts of Dynamic Capability (DC) and Organizational Intelligence (OI) arise, theories that, despite their different approaches to the use of firms' resources, have as their ultimate objective the creation and maintenance of a sustainable competitive advantage. So, in order to better understand the influence of these theories on the activities of firms, this chapter approaches the relationship between both theories, analyzing their common points, and the way DC influence OI.

However, to reach a better world depends on the development of the organizational etiquette, the ethics, and individuals with a clear purpose of life. The coevolution means that all the stakeholders involved in different levels may have the possibility to influence, positively or negatively, in the process. This paper aims to develop an integral framework connecting different aspects of internal and external environment and the topics of ethics, etiquette and strategy. The integrative framework is an attempt to work on a complex and multidimensional phenomenon that concerns the individual, the company and society. Thus, a primal objective of the executive should reconcile the person progress with the delivery of results. The competitive world is not a source of more cheats and injustices, but a motivation for more ethics actions and construction of better social etiquettes that will help to the coevolution of different stakeholders and, in the end, all the society will be better, little by little, through a continuous process of development
