The advantages and disadvantages of AI and what can be and should be done in order to influence that in a positive way are discussed. The study is based on interviews (ten) and survey answers (from 100 respondents). The survey results show that there is a general concern about the impact of AI in the future (the negative impact on work and related to a general loss of control). Furthermore, more than 50% of the answers lead to the thought that “Humans will learn to use the power of computers to improve their own skills and be ahead of AI”. As concerns the interviews, it was interesting to realize that practical courses, such as students studying engineering, were the ones who were afraid of AI instead of the social ones. This may be because the engineering students are the ones who know more about AI so they better realize the possible implications of AI on their future jobs. Another possible reason is that non-engineering students believe that human sensibility needed in their fields of study is more difficult to reproduce by AI machines than technical skills present in other fields of study/jobs.

The exercise has the potential to improve the life of people with schizophrenia improving physical health and alleviating psychiatric symptoms. However, most people with schizophrenia remains sedentary and lack of access to exercise programs are barriers to achieve health benefits. The aim of this study is to evaluate the effect of exercise on I) the type of intervention in mental health, II) in salivary levels of alpha-amylase and cortisol and serum levels of S100B and BDNF, and on III) the quality of life and selfperception of the physical domain of people with schizophrenia. The sample consisted of 31 females in long-term institutions in the Casa de Saúde Rainha Santa Isabel, with age between 25 and 63, and with diagnosis of schizophrenia according to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-IV-TR). Physical fitness was assessed by the six-minute walk distance test (6MWD). Biological variables were determined by ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay). Psychological variables were assessed using SF-36, PSPP-SCV, RSES and SWLS tests. Walking exercise has a positive impact on physical fitness (6MWDp = 0.001) and physical components of the psychological tests ([SF-36] physical functioning p < 0.05; [PSPP-SCV] functionality p < 0.05 and SWLS p < 0.05 of people with schizophrenia. The walking program enhances the quality of life and self-perception of the physical domain and physical fitness of people with schizophrenia.

Independently of fire type and intensity, the combustion process generates huge amounts of carbon dioxide and several groups of pollutants such as dioxins, dibenzofurans and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs). Due to their potential adverse effects on humans and wildlife, PAHs are registered on European and American lists of priority pollutants that must be monitored in environment. Several PAHs compounds can increase the incidence of cancer, and are also referred to as endocrine disruptor compounds, with the most well-known marker being benzo[a]pyrene. Regarding water quality, PAHs were firstly considered priority hazardous substances (those presenting a significant risk to or via the aquatic environment) by the Decision no2455/2001/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council, which becomes Annex X of the Water Framework Directive (2000/60/EC). This list was then replaced by Annex II of the Directive 2008/105/EC, known as the Priority Substances Directive, subsequently reviewed by the Commission in 2012 (COM(2011) 876 final. PAHs are also mentioned in our drinking water legislation (DL306/07). Until now, there are still substantial knowledge gaps about the water quality impacts of forest fires concerning PAHs contamination, as well as the influence of the climatic conditions and the time elapsed since the last fire.

This apparatus is remotely operated and accessed via web, by first scheduling an access time slot. This machine has a number of configuration parameters that support different learning scenarios with different complexities.
