Aim and objective: To assess the effectiveness of planned teaching program on Knowledge and pract... more Aim and objective: To assess the effectiveness of planned teaching program on Knowledge and practice regarding prevention of Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) in patient with indwelling catheter among staff nurses. Materials and methods: A pre-experimental design is chosen to assess the knowledge and practice of urinary tract infection with indwelling catheter. The study was conducted at selected hospital in Gurugram. The non-probability convenient sampling technique was used to select 60 Staff nurses who are working in the selected hospital. A structured questionnaire was administered for data collection. Results: The level of knowledge and practice score regarding prevention of urinary tract infection in patient with indwelling catheter is different from the finding of the study. The study concludes that Majority of nursing staff officer (76.7%) were female working in selected hospital. Majority of nursing staff (43.3%) working in hospital were having between 21-25 years of age. Majority of nursing staff (68.3%) were from B.Sc. nursing passed working in Hospital. Majority of the nursing staff (83.3%) were having 1-5 years' experience working in hospital. Majority of the nursing staff (65.0%) were handled/ care for a patient with indwelling Catheter. Majority of the nursing staff (53.3%) were having not attended any in service educational program on prevention of Urinary tract infection patient with indwelling catheter.

In trichotillomania alopecia results from deliberate efforts of the patients who is under tension or is psychologically disturbed. The condition maybe episodic and the chronic type. Efficacious treatments have been developed, in particular cognitive-behavioral interventions involving procedures collectively known as habit reversal training. Recent developments in pharmacotherapies for TTM and in combining cognitive-behavioral therapy approaches with medication hold promise.

The experience of being diagnosed with and treated for cancer is extremely stressful for most ind... more The experience of being diagnosed with and treated for cancer is extremely stressful for most individuals involving a series of threats during diagnosis and treatment. The purpose of the study was to explore the anxiety among cancer patients. The study involved 100 cancer patients. Data was collected by using standardised tool i.e. state-trait anxiety inventory (STAI). Participants reported moderate low state-trait anxiety (36% and 34% of cancer patients were in moderate low anxiety level in state-trait anxiety inventory respectively). The mean score for state-trait anxiety inventory was 92.74 with S.D ± 29.94 and mean percent as 57.96. The state anxiety was found associated with demographic variables that were: religious activities (34.15) and importance of religious activities (21.33) and clinical variables were found to be associated with duration of diagnosis (26.23) and stage of disease (27.02) at 0.05 level of significance. The experience of being diagnosed with and treated for cancer is an extremely stressful experienc... more The experience of being diagnosed with and treated for cancer is an extremely stressful experience for most individuals. The purpose of the study was to explore the ways of coping among cancer patients. The study involved 100 cancer patients. The data was collected by using standardized tool-ways of coping scale (WAYS). Participants reported that seeking social support was the most frequently used ways of coping after being diagnosed with cancer. Patients spoke about supportive relationships as a key contributor to growth as well as a fruition of their experience. Most of the patients were using single coping behavior to cope with the cancer diagnosis and only few patients were using three coping behaviors. The association of ways of coping with demographic variables suggests that ways of coping was associated with occupation (6.63) and clinical variable suggest that ways of coping was associated with duration of diagnosis (14.35) at 0.05 level of significance.

Introduction-The coronavirus COVID-19 illness makes a very unpredictable future the main psycholo... more Introduction-The coronavirus COVID-19 illness makes a very unpredictable future the main psychological effect is elevated rates of anxiety, because of pandemic and the lockdown. Aim-The aimed of the study was to Assess the level of anxiety during COVID-19 among general population in India. Methodology-A Snowball sampling technique was used to collect the samples from different state and union territory of India. Total 829 participants respond and enrolled themselves in the study. Participants in the study belong to 27 states or union territories of India and majority of them are from Delhi. Result-Most of the Participant in the study was female (54%), graduate (51%), age between 18-28 (60%) and Hindu (89.3%). Half of the participant were having minimal anxiety (57.1%) nearly one fourth of the participant were having Mild anxiety (28.5%) and least number of participants were having Moderate anxiety (11.0%) and Severe anxiety (3.5%).There was no significant association of Anxiety scores with Socio-demographic variable except place of stay, suffering from any health problem and During lockdown period time spent in watching news related to corona (COVID-19) on mobile, laptop, television etc. Conclusion-The study concluded the outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) Cause anxiety among the people. Understanding the risk to yourself and people you care about can make an outbreak less adverse effect on mental and physical health of the people

Objective : This study was undertaken to assess the effectiveness of educational package regardin... more Objective : This study was undertaken to assess the effectiveness of educational package regarding knowledge of Somatic symptom disorders among adolescent girls. Methods : 75 adolescent girls were selected by using non probability convenient sampling technique. The data was collected by using a reliable and validated tool to assess the knowledge regarding Somatic symptom disorders. Results : The quantitative assessment of knowledge regarding Somatic Symptom Disorders revealed that after administration of educational package, 56 (74.67%) adolescent girls had average knowledge and 19 (25.33%) adolescent girls had adequate level of knowledge. There was significant difference between knowledge in pre testand post test after administration of educational package. Also, thepost test knowledge was statistically associated with educational level of father of adolescent girls (0.043), educational level of mother of adolescent girls (0.046) and occupation of mother of adolescent girls (0.003). The study revealed that, the pretest mean score value of knowledge was 9.52 with standard deviation (SD) of 2.21 and the post-test mean score value of knowledge was17.00 with SD of 4.01 with a mean difference of 7.48.The calculated-t value was 13.87. This indicated that there was a high statistical significant difference in the pre and post test knowledge level regarding Somatic symptom disorders among adolescent girls, p value 0.05. Conclusion: Results of this research generates evidence that educational package regarding knowledge of Somatic symptom disorders among adolescent girls was effective.

In addition to commonly recognized negative effects such as posttraumatic stress symptoms (PTSS), there may be positive personal developmental change, including posttraumatic growth (PTG). The purpose of the study was to explore the post traumatic growth among cancer patients. The study involved 100 cancer patients. The data was collected by using standardized tool-post traumatic growth inventory (PTGI) which consists of five subscales. Participants reported high spiritual strength. Only few of the patients were able to develop new possibilities which suggest that they may be beginning to make choices in a more conscious manner. The associations of post traumatic growth of cancer patients with selected demographic variables suggest that relating to others was statistically associated with gender (4.58) and marital status (4.70), spiritual strength was found to be associated with residence (4.43), religious activities (9.29) and importance of religious activities (32.74). Appreciation of life was found dependent on occupation (5.88) and annual household income (10.92) at 0.05 level of significance and the association of post traumatic growth with selected clinical variables suggest that new possibilities was statistically significant with duration of diagnosis (7.82), spiritual strength with duration of diagnosis (.95) and appreciation of life with duration of diagnosis (9.06) at 0.05 level of significance. Therefore it was concluded that majority of cancer patients after diagnosis with cancer were able to reevaluate their spiritual strength.
