There are different procedure to get success in the drug discovery like preliminary phytochemical analysis, structural elucidation of the bioactive compound, preclinical test and clinical test etc. So to optimize the time for invention of new drug molecule, computer aided drug designing and molecular docking analysis is being used as one of the highly effective methodology. The phytochemical extraction of Hydnora africana plant was reported to inhibit the growth of Aeromonas hydrophila which cause Septicemia. “Biovia Discovery Studio” molecular docking methods give us opportunity to identify the effective molecule against the microbes. “High positive values of -CDOCKER energy and -CDOCKER interaction energy” recommended that flavone can effectively deactivate the acetaldehyde dehydrogenase enzyme thereby interrupting the life cycle of the organism.

The single formulation was prepared using the selected plants parts in the ratio 1 : 6 : 3 respectively for quantitative analysis of tannin & total phenol, antioxidant activity and analysis of MIC (Minimum Inhibitory Concentration) against Streptococcus mutans causing bacteria of tooth decay. Results revealed that selected plant parts are rich source of bioactive compounds like tannin, phenolic compounds and saponin. The quantitative analysis of secondary metabolites showed highest concentration of tannin. It was noted that antioxidant activity is highest in methanol extract as compared to aqueous and acetone. MIC analysis also revealed that formulated powder had excellent antibacterial activity against S. mutans and it was observed the lowest values (450 µg ml-1) showed aqueous & methanol followed by acetone. The herbal formulation might be used to formulate new herbal products against tooth decay in near future.

(Sal) is one of the important species in most of the deciduous or semi-evergreen forests of India. Similipal Biosphere Reserve (SBR) is situated in the Mayurbhanj district of Odisha, which comprises many plant species including lichens. The distribution of epiphytic lichen on Shorea robusta shows that it is one of the most suitable hosts for it. The present study reveals the occurrence of 88 numbers of species belonging to 18 genera and 13 families of lichenized fungi occurring on the bark of Shorea robusta, collected from the transitional zone of Similipal Biosphere Reserve. Members of the family Graphidaceae followed by Pyrenulaceae growing luxuriantly on the bark of Shorea together with the dominant genera Pyrenula. Crustose species are the dominant one followed by foliose taxa represented by 67 and 21 numbers species respectively. The NorthWest localities of Similipal contains a more diverse group of lichen taxa (52 species) than that of the SouthWest region represented by 44 species.

The outbreak of Coronavirus was first reported from Wuhan, Hubei, China on the end month of 2019.... more The outbreak of Coronavirus was first reported from Wuhan, Hubei, China on the end month of 2019. Due to its rapid outbreak and quick transmission, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared it as an ongoing pandemic. The available viral influenza medicines are found to be ineffective to treat COVID-19,so there is a need of strong technology to detect and monitor public health. Early notification on symptoms of the disease is necessary and can be control up to some extent from this dreadful disease. If monitored in early stage, the infected person can undergo different therapeutic approaches. In order to scan the early symptoms of COVID-19, different techniques has been applied. Use of sensor is considered as one of the method. Sensors when combine with a systematic device, it is utilized to detect the chemical compound and further combines with a biological component with a physicochemical detector. This biosensing system can be included in smart band, optical sensor, plasmonic photothermal sensor, wearable sensor, cell-based sensors, and nano-sensor which can be used to diagnose the COVID-19. Therefore, it is discussed thoroughly in this review with its recent development and future scope on detecting COVID-19.
