COVID 19 pandemic has led to economic downturn worldwide, and it has negatively affected mental health of the health workers as well as the general population. The pandemic has created psychological impact in the minds of people that even after recovery from critical illness assessment of anxiety symptoms is necessary. OBJECTIVE. This study was undertaken to assess the knowledge and anxiety levels among health care workers and non-medico/ general population of Indore, Madhya Pradesh. METHODS. A descriptive, cross sectional study was conducted among 247 participants comprising of medical and dental professionals , paramedical staff and non medico/ general population of Indore city, India. The questionnaire was divided into three sections, the first section comprised questions pertaining to socio demographic characteristics, second section comprised ten questions pertaining to awareness and attitude towards preventive measures whereas the third section assessed anxiety lev...

MRONJ is considered when a patient has exposed bone in the jaw for more than 8 weeks and has a history of antiresorptive and antiangiogenic medication with a negative history of radiotherapy. Antiresorptive and antiangiogenic medication do not independently cause necrosis of bone. Various systemic and local risk factors like dentoalveolar trauma and extraction play an important role in the development of MRONJ. MRONJ can be prevented by proper dental evaluation and by performing the required treatment before commencing antiresorptive and antiangiogenic medication.

A reverse phase C18 column was used as stationary phase of 250x4.6 mm i.d and 5mm partial size, with mobile phase consisting of phosphate buffer of P H 3.0 and acetonitrile in the proportion of 60:40 v/v respectively was used. The flow rate was 1.0 ml/min and the effluents were monitored at 245nm. The retention time was 5.35 and 10.3 minutes. The detector response was linear in the concentration of 16 to 24µg/ml for Telmisartan with 0.9998 as the value of correlation coefficient and for Ramipril the linearity in the range of 2 to 3µg/ml with 0.9998 as the value of correlation coefficient. The Limit of measurements such as limit of detection and limit of quantification were found to be 9.47µg and 31.57µg for Telmisartan and For Ramipril 1.16µg and 3.88µg, respectively. The percentage relative standard deviations for the assay ...

To date, only eighty five cases of transvaginal small bowel evisceration have been documented worldwide. CASE: A 61-year-old postmenopausal woman who was admitted to the emergency department with vaginal herniation of small bowel one year after Laparoscopic Assisted Vaginal Hysterectomy. After examination and evaluation planned for Laparotomy. Laparotomy was done. Retrieved the small bowel loops. Bowel loop was viable. The dehisced vaginal vault closed with polyglactin. Recto-vaginal space obliterated by interrupted sutures. Post operative period was uneventful. CONCLUSION: Vaginal evisceration after hysterectomy is rare, but can occur. Recognition and repair of enterocele at primary surgery and adequate postoperative rest is important. Emphasis that it is an emergency is crucial.

They occur most frequently in the second or third decade of life and rarely occur before the age of 10 and after the age of 50. These are slow-growing tumors, but they may be locally aggressive, especially in the maxilla. Here we report the case of odontogenic myxoma in a 25-year-old male patient in the mandibular anterior region, which is usually seen in the posterior aspect of the mandible.

It is an extremely rare neoplasm comprise of <1 % of all odontogenic tumors. It manifests clinically as asymptomatic, slow-growing, and locally aggressive lesion which causes expansion of the affected bone. About 400 cases of CEOT (calcifying epithelial odontogenic tumor) are reported in the literature. This article reported a case 18 years old female with a locally aggressive calcifying epithelial odontogenic tumor involving the mandible, without much disfigurement of the face. Aim: The aim of this article to put a drop of water in the ocean of literature. Report a case with aggressive nature.

Early diagnosis, in which an astute and knowledgeable dentist can play an essential role, is therefore of paramount importance. The presence of osteomas and multiple unerupted teeth provides the dentist with a major pointer to the possible presence of this disease, which may be provisionally diagnosed on the detection of other obvious features, like the cutaneous lesions. This fact is clearly illustrated by the accompanying case report of Gardner's syndrome in a middle aged female patient who presented with the typical dental manifestations of the syndrome and timely detection of other manifestations halted the dreaded disease from further progression.

Materials and methods: Two hundred and eighty antepartum women were examined aged between 18 and 37 years. Demographic, medical and clinical histories were taken under obstetrician's guidance. A thorough periodontal examination was done in all the participants with their consent which included bleeding on probing, pocket depth and clinical attachment level. After delivery, gestational age (in weeks) and birth weight of baby (in kg) were collected from hospital records. Infants were placed into following categories by gestational age (WHO) and by birth weight preterm-<37 weeks, term-37 to 42 weeks, post-term-42 weeks completed and above, low birth weight-<2,500 gm, normal birth weight-2,500 to 3,900 gm, high weight->3,900 gm. Results: Based on the findings of the study, a significant correlation was observed between periodontitis and low birth weight and preterm low birth weight (p ≤0.001) and a significant relation was observed between periodontitis and gestational age (p < 0.001). Conclusion: Periodontitis was considered a risk indicator for reduced gestational age and birth weight. Multicentric trials will greatly help to establish the independent role of periodontal disease and their relationship in terms of pregnancy outcomes.

Thus, it is imperative that national policies should be reformed in such a fashion that we take lessons from the west and correct ourselves when we have time in hand, well almost. Increase in globalization, and therefore travel, changing habits and lifestyles, all come with a price and the least desired of all is the globalized disease incidences and disease process. Population growth and aging are the largest contributors to the increasing total number of cancer cases and the shift in the burden of cancer and other chronic diseases toward economically developing countries. Cancer is now the third leading cause of death worldwide. This paper identifies several preventive measures that offer the most feasible approach to mitigate the anticipated global increase in cancer in countries that can least afford it.

Many times this elongated styloid process has also been attributed as a cause of pain and discomfort in the neck and throat region which was known as Eagle's syndrome or styloid syndrome or stylohyoid syndrome. Hence, a study was designed to determine the length of styloid process on the orthopantomograph and review the selected related literature. A total of 200 healthy subjects of both the sexes in the age group of 5 to 75 years were radiographed. Each styloid process form both sides was classified to its morphologic appearance and measured. The data was subjected to statistical analysis which revealed elongation of styloid process increases as the age advances, when the incidence of elongation is compared on the right and left side no statistically significant difference is found. Pain is not associated with length or incidence of elongation.
