A detailed study of rainfall behaviour and statistics was done over a particular catchment in Amity University to obtain harvesting potential and subsequently design sedimentation and filtration units, respectively. With an additional filtration through laboratory prepared graphene oxide sand composite, the quality of filtered water is highly enhanced. Economic and easy synthesis of graphene oxide sand composite to easily provide this filter solution.

The healthcare sector, in general, is engaged in working on various dimensions simultaneously like the safety, care, quality and cost of services, etc. Still, the desired outcomes from this sector are far away, and it becomes pertinent to address all such issues associated with healthcare on a priority basis for sustaining the outcomes in a long-term perspective. The present study aims to explore the healthcare sector and list out the directly associated enablers contributing to increasing the viability of the healthcare sector. Besides, the interrelationship among the enlisted enablers needs to be studied, which further helps in setting-out the priority to deal with individual enablers based on their impedance in the contribution towards viability increment.Design/methodology/approachThe authors have done an extensive review to list out the enablers of the healthcare se...

Since the patient is no more a passive recipient of care, but an enlightened consumer, the provision of high-quality services become indispensable for earning goodwill, improve patient satisfaction and also to garner better online ratings. However, the path to providing quality services is not smooth—there are hurdles galore. The primary purpose of this study is to identify and analyze the barriers to the provision of quality care. To address this purpose, the paper first reviews systematically the introduction on healthcare services; second, it provides the barriers in achieving the quality level in healthcare services; third it uses an Interpretive Structural Modelling (ISM) and MICMAC analysis for modeling and analysis purpose. Finally, this paper concludes with managerial implications and further research directions for achieving quality services in the healthcare system.

Industry 4.0 has become the standard for applications in recent years, as its technologies are rapidly being implemented and positively impacting every sector. However, these developments are still unable to achieve the desired outcomes and have neglected the environment by prioritizing machines over humans. Therefore, the Industry 5.0 (I5.0) revolution is a call to bring forth the ideas of sustainability into practice, integrate human values with technology, and is considered a step forward for achieving sustainable development goals. Hence, the present study proposes a framework for analyzing I5.0 enablers for achieving sustainability by integrating human values with technology. To achieve the objectives, this study was conducted in three different phases: 1) through extensive review, the list of criteria and enablers was identified; 2) Pythagorean fuzzy Delphi was used to validate the enablers against criteria; 3) a hybrid approach of Pythagorean fuzzy analytical hierarchy process-combined compromise solution was employed to calculate the weights of selected criteria and determine the ranks of enablers. A sensitivity analysis was then performed to check the robustness of this framework. The findings show that the criterion of personal customization obtained the highest weight followed by human-machine collaboration, which will create a smart cognitive environment for humans. Human intelligence is used in more important places, which will help society focus on developing social values. The authors also put forward seven propositions about adopting I5.0 enablers for best results, taking examples from existing case studies and helping industrialists adopt I5.0 methods

The modern scenario of customization, personalization and multi-restrictive working because of pandemics has affected the operations of manufacturing small and medium enterprises (SMEs). In the new normal, the digitalization of manufacturing SMEs can be the path breaker. Modern digitalization includes a mix of technologies such as the industrial internet of things (IIoT), the internet of things, cyber-physical system and big data analytics. This digitalization can help in achieving new design changes, efficient production scheduling, smart manufacturing and unrestricted on-time delivery of quality products. This research paper aims to recognize and analyze the challenges faced while implementing IIoT technologies in manufacturing SMEs and tries to find the possibility of mitigating challenges by blockchain technology. Design/methodology/approach There were ten challenges of IIoT impl...

The industries have moved from a singular manufacturing system to a combination of two of them in order to cope with the expansion of market structure and customer requirements. In today’s scenario, a need for a more sustainable manufacturing system has emerged, therefore a combination of lean, green and agile manufacturing systems can provide the required results. The adoption of a Lean-Green-Agile Manufacturing System (LGAMS) in the present market scenario would be influenced by a few barriers viz. lack of top management support and commitment, fear and resistance to organizational change, financial constraints/risk of business, etc. The barriers can be attributed to different perspectives depending on their field of influence like economic, technical and organizational perspective. An attempt has been m...

A shift away from conventionally-fuelled land transportation vehicles towards greater use of renewable energy fuel sources is needed to manage increasing vehicle usage and associated adverse environmental and human health impacts. Power assisted electric bicycles (PAEBs) provide a means to reduce vehicle emissions within urban areas was first stated by Graham S. Aikenhead [1]. The paper is to represent the improvement of 50% in efficiency of e-bike with hub motor incorporated in the rear wheel for producing the initial torque required to set the vehicle from rest to motion and main motor incorporated along with the chain drive for further power transmission which will eventually lead improvement that would be visible in the final model.

The adoption of LGMS in manufacturing industry can really yield advantages in terms of economic and environmental performance primarily and social performance too. The emerging economies like BRICS nations are boosting their manufacturing sector and generating an unsustainable situation. The adoption of LGMS can check the situation without any impact on the manufacturing sector growth. However, this change in manufacturing system is hindered by many issues without which the implementation of LGMS is not possible. This paper identifies 7 barriers to LGMS through the review of literature and consultation with experts. An application of VIKOR method would lead to the identification of the few most important barriers which should be taken first to address the issue faster.

Thus, the manuscript intent to structure the model-framework of sustainable water harvesting based on moist air condensation on mesh-like surfaces to increase the availability of potable water. Hence, the significant key factors related to sustainable water harvesting via condensation are identified from extant literature, consultation from researchers, and practitioners and subsequently confirmed by fabricating the experimental setup. Further than, an attempt by applying Total Interpretive Structural Modelling (TISM) is attained to provide a model framework.
