One of the contributors to inflation in Padang City comes from the food and/or food ingredients s... more One of the contributors to inflation in Padang City comes from the food and/or food ingredients subgroup. In this subgroup, the variable that dominates the inflation rate is food prices. Unstable inflation conditions will have an impact on the economy of a region. The purpose of the study was to identify the development of food prices in the city of Padang and to analyze the effect of food price fluctuations on inflation in the city of Padang. Data for the period January 2018 to December 2021 are used for descriptive analysis and vector autoregressive modeling (VAR/VECM). The variables used are the prices of rice, red chilies, cooking oil, broiler eggs, broiler meat, and granulated sugar. will be analyzed its effect on inflation in the city of Padang. The condition of food prices shows a fluctuating trend. The analysis results show that in the short term cointegration occurs between variables. In the long term, the prices of rice, red chilies, broiler eggs, and chicken meat have a significant effect on inflation in the city of Padang. The projection results for the next 24 years show that the most significant contribution of variance is dominated by the inflation variable (53.69%). The most significant strategic food commodity in explaining the inflation diversity of Padang City is red chili (22.99%) and rice (16.76%). The rest (6.56%) is explained by other commodities' price variables. The contribution of food prices identified as having an impact on inflation in the City of Padang should be the focus of attention of the local government in setting trade regulations in the future.

Sumatera Barat merupakan penyumbang gambir terbesar di Indonesia mencapai 63,47% dari total ekspo... more Sumatera Barat merupakan penyumbang gambir terbesar di Indonesia mencapai 63,47% dari total ekspor Indonesia ke pasar dunia. Negara utama ekspor gambir Sumatera Barat adalah India. Tantangan umum yang dihadapi Indonesia dalam mengekspor gambir ke India adalah adanya pesaing lain seperti Perancis, Italia, Belgia dan lainnya, kondisi harga pasar lokal dan harga ekstrak gambir baku impor, prosedur pemerintah untuk ekspor-impor membutuhkan waktu yang lebih lama. Selain itu, tingginya permintaan dan rendahnya produksi gambir menyebabkan penundaan pengiriman. Hal ini tentu saja akan mengganggu sistem perdagangan gambir dan akan berdampak terhadap daya saing gambir. Metode analisis penelitian ini menggunakan metode analisis komparatif RCA (Revealed Comparative Advantage). Hasil analisis daya saing komparatif RCA (Revealed Comparative Advantage) menggambarkan daya saing ekspor gambir Indonesia (Studi kasus di Sumatera Barat) di pasar dunia belum memiliki daya saing. Namun, untuk gambir Indonesia di pasar sasaran utama (India), Indonesia memiliki daya saing yang kuat pada sepuluh tahun terakhir (tahun 2010-2019) dibandingkan negara pesaing lainnya.

Chicken eggs are one of the primary sources of protein for people in West Sumatra. The level of c... more Chicken eggs are one of the primary sources of protein for people in West Sumatra. The level of consumption continues to increase every year, while the availability of broiler eggs is not stable. This condition illustrates the problems faced by consumers and producers, namely price instability. Market integration is a metric that demonstrates how price changes in the reference market affect price changes in the follower market. The objective of this research is to examine the price variation and market integration of broiler eggs in West Sumatra. Coefficient of variation analysis is used to examine price variation, while cointegration analysis with the Vector Autoregression (VAR)/Vector Error Correction Model (VECM) model is used to investigate market integration. The variations coefficient analysis shows that the price of chicken eggs on the market is relatively more stable than that of the consumer market. The results of the integration analysis show that there is no integration between the market for broiler eggs at the producer and consumer levels, both in the long and short term. This is due to the information asymmetry between the two markets.

This indicates that the development of small-scale processing industries of cassava and households has a great influence on the increase of added value. The selected location is West Payakumbuh District. This is because most (89%) producers of processed food products in Payakumbuh are in this area. This study aims to analyze the added value of processed products of cassava in Payakumbuh. The method of analysis used is Hayami method. The data collected is the input and output of cassava processing obtained from the respondents who have been determined in West Payakumbuh District. The results showed that the value added of processed products of cassava in Payakumbuh was Rp 33.746,67 / Kg with the added value ratio of 82.31 percent or Rp 31.496,67 / Kg.

Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa pengembangan industri olahan ubi kayu skala kecil maupun rumah tangga memiliki pengaruh yang besar terhadap peningkatan nilai tambah. Lokasi yang dipilih adalah Kecamatan Payakumbuh Barat. Hal ini disebabkan sebagian besar (89%) produsen olahan produk pangan di Kota Payakumbuh berada di daerah ini. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis nilai tambah produk olahan ubi kayu di Kota Payakumbuh. Metode analisis yang digunakan adalah Metode Hayami. Data yang dikumpulkan adalah input dan output pengolahan ubi kayu yang diperoleh dari responden yang telah ditentukan di Kecamatan Payakumbuh Barat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai tambah produk olahan ubi kayu di Kota Payakumbuh sebesar Rp 33.746,67/Kg dengan rasio nilai tambah sebesar 82,31 persen atau Rp 31.496,67 / Kg.Â

Sebagian besar (86%) produksi kopi diekspor ke pasar dunia. Selama tahun 2006-2012, pergerakan harga kopi di tingkat eksportir mengalami kenaikan sebesar 17,18%, namun di tingkat petani mengalami penurunan sebesar 1,73%. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis struktur dan integrasi pasar kopi Arabika Gayo. Data yang digunakan merupakan data time series harga bulanan kopi selama tahun 2008-2012. Analisis struktur pasar ditentukan melalui rasio konsentrasi empat perusahaan terbesar (CR4) dan hambatan masuk pasar melalui nilai skala efisiensi minimum (Minimum Efficiency Scale/MES). The calculation of added value and business feasibility based on purple sweet potato has never been done. This research was carried out with the aim of calculating whether processing purple sweet potato into purple sweet potato milk pie is feasible to be carried out on an ongoing basis. The results of the study explained that the added value and the ratio of added value obtained from changing purple sweet potato into purple sweet potato milk pie was Rp. 131.790.- with a value added ratio of 58,57%.

The calculation of added value and business feasibility based on purple sweet potato has never been done. This research was carried out with the aim of calculating whether processing purple sweet potato into purple sweet potato milk pie is feasible to be carried out on an ongoing basis. The results of the study explained that the added value and the ratio of added value obtained from changing purple sweet potato into purple sweet potato milk pie was Rp. 131.790.- with a value added ratio of 58,57%.
