This paper uses the Savitzky-Golay filter and wavelet transform for noise reduction, and wavelet analysis and AR modeling techniques for feature extraction to design a database system of AR coefficients describing the ECG signals with different arrhythmia types. In the experimental part of this work, the proposed algorithm performance is evaluated using an ECG dataset containing 19 different types including normal sinus rhythm, atrial premature contraction, ventricular premature contraction, ventricular tachycardia, ventricular fibrillation, supraventricular tachycardia, and other types from the MIT-BIH Arrhythmia Database. The simulation is performed in a MATLAB environment.

This is due to the need for safe and robust smart communication, while this type of communication is vulnerable to latency and power. Therefore, this work proposes the Narrowband Internet-of-Things to enhance the robustness of the vehicular communication system. Accordingly, the system’s QoS is enhanced. This enhancement is based on proposing two parts to cover the latency and the harmonics issues, in addition to proposing a distributed antenna configuration for the moving vehicles under a machine learning benchmark, which uses the across-entropy algorithm. The proposed environment has been simulated and compared to the state-of-the-art work performance. The simulation results verify the proposed work performance based on three different parameters; namely the latency, the mean squared error rate, and the transmitted signal block error rate. From these results, the proposed work outperforms...

Research paper thumbnail of Robust Vehicular Communications Using the Fast-Frequency-Hopping-OFDM Technology and the MIMO Spatial Multiplexing

Vehicle to Vehicle communication is one of the more emerging technologies in the 21st century eit... more Vehicle to Vehicle communication is one of the more emerging technologies in the 21st century either from the comfortable transportation or safer transportation point of view. Vehicle to Vehicle communication has one crucial factor which is the huge information to be shared among vehicles, such as the position, the road data. In such situation, the accurate information sharing process is the most important factor in order to make the vehicles operating in the most feasible way. This work proposes a more robust vehicle communication system to make the existing vehicle transportation system more efficient. In this paper, we propose a fast frequency hopping orthogonal frequency division multiplexing to mitigate the Doppler spread effect on our previously published clustering benchmark. This benchmark contains both of a clustering weighting factor based stage and a multiparallel processing stage. This is in addition to modify the PHY layer of the existing IEEE 802.11p standard in order ...

Its powerfulness comes from improving the system's data rates even under harsh channels conditions by making use of the Inverse Fast Fourier Transform (IFFT) idea. However, it suffers from different drawbacks, which make it intrinsically obstinate, such as the Peak-to-Average Power Ratio (PAPR) and synchronization issues. Thus, an analysis of an alternative work will be provided in this work based on the wavelet transforms; wavelet packet transforms-based Daubechies 4 will be analyzed and compared to our previously published work in order to increase the OFDM-based work flexibilities. This comparison will be based on the bit error rates (BER) and exceeding the PAPR values a certain threshold. A MATLAB simulation has been performed in order to verify the reliability of the proposition in order to rep...

This structure is very useful in reducing the computational complexity by 3 N 2 − real multiplications and 2 N − real additions in comparison with indirect fast Fourier transforms (FFT) based algorithms calculated through fast cosine transform (FCT). The DCT and its fast calculation ways effectively can be used to calculate convolution, filtering and correlation of signals. For their calculating, the classic schema (two DCT + product of cosine spectrums + IDCT) will be saved.

In this algorithm, wavelets techniques have been used to denoise the affected OFDM symbol by high PAPR values. After that and based on adaptive threshold method the local maxima and minima will be determined and replaced by the average of them and their surrounding neighbors; Denoise OFDM and Replace PAPR (DORP). A testbed convergence between the wireless sensor network and the wireless mobile network is performed. It deals with enhancing wireless mobile network performance. This testbed is divided into three stages; combating the peak-to-average power ratio problem, observing a real data making use of an actual wireless sensors, and proposing a multi-parallel processing communications. The mentioned testbed above is done in a realistic academic environment, where selected signals from those sensors are evaluated. Thus, a design improvement is detailed in terms of the peak-to-average power ratio and the efficient use of the limited resources. In particular, the scope focuses on the mitigation of the nonlinear distortion and its effect on bit error rate. The validation process is attained based on performing an extensive simulation. It is observing some certain performance p...

A proposition has been made to tackle the Peak to Average Power Ratio (PAPR) problem. The proposed work will be based on a special averaging adaptive wavelet transformation (SAAWT) process. It will be compared with two main works that has been published previously; a neural network (NN)-based and a special averaging technique (SAT)-based. In the NN work, the learning process makes use of a previously published work that is based on three linear coding techniques. The proposed work (SAAWT) consists of three main stages; extracting the needed features, de-noising and the optimization criterion. SAAWT has an enhancement over the SAT that will take the noise clearance enhancement into its consideration. It uses 136880 different combinations of de-noising parameters that are experimentally computed to get the most efficient result with respect to the MSE, SNR and PSNR values. A ...
