It is unclear if community mem bers who have been vaccinated against COVID-19 and those who are unvaccinated have distinctly different mental model and risk behavior. At present, the dearth of studies and research on this matter is a glaring gap, and this is, therefore, suggestive of a need to increase our recognition of people's risk behavior that is based on their mental models , and how this can have a practical bearing in risk communication strategy. Along this line, little research has been done, hence, this research. Through the findings in this study, designers of risk communication will be able to appreciate the significance of the information and knowledge of people's mental models and risk behavior in which it is then possible to design a risk communication strategy that is customize and oriented towards risk reduction and management.

Hence, the five propositions were posited and probed. The data used came from the demographic profile of the schools that implemented the ALIVE classes in the Schools Division of Iligan City. As such, it is therefore factual data. The data were then subjected to appropriate statistical testing. The results have shown that of the five propositions, four yielded a result suggestive of a commendable exercise of the school administrators' leadership and management skills while one proposition reflected a lamentable exercise of their leadership and management skills. As the study's recommendation, it, therefore, encourages researchers to pursue research that touches on testable propositions that are anchored on logic and observation.

Accurate assessment of the level and extent of disaster resilience of flood-prone schools and the... more Accurate assessment of the level and extent of disaster resilience of flood-prone schools and their communities is a complicated task. This is given the various means to measure disaster resilience. This is further complicated by the fact that disaster resilience is context-specific. Therefore, applying one of these measures for disaster resilience modeling proves to be a practical approach, as this model has the advantage of having context-specific viability in predicting disaster resilience. One of the statistical methods that can be used for testing a model in disaster resilience is Multiple Linear Regression (MLR). Therefore, this work aims to test a model for disaster resilience. For this, 26 schools in the Schools Division of Misamis Oriental were identified as flood-prone areas based on the geo-hazard maps of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources. With the use of the Torrens Community Disaster Resilience Score Card, the schools and their communities were rated by their respective School Administrator/Principal; School Disaster Risk Reduction Management Coordinator; Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Officer; President of the General Parents-Teachers Association; President of the Student School Government; and the Barangay Chairperson. The ratings served as the data. Multiple Linear Regression was applied to generate a new model with four explanatory variables, i.e. community-connectedness, risk and vulnerability, planning and procedures, and available resources; and the response variable is Disaster Resilience. The MLR model obtained an Adjusted R Square of 0.965, which means that the four explanatory variables explained 96.5% of the variability of Disaster Resilience. The Goodness of Fit of the model had shown a right-tailed, F=175.9, p-value=7.77156e-16, thus, rejecting the null hypothesis that the model is not a good fit. All four variables are significant predictors of Disaster Resilience, hence, attesting to the adequacy of the model. Thus indicative that in the context of these flood-prone school and their communities, the model justifies that the application of the said scorecard is of great importance to these schools and their communities as well as those people responsible for disaster risk and reduction management regular monitoring and assessment for disaster resilience.

Such findings would then be utilized in order to come up with pertinent policy recommendations, which could be the basis in coming up with strategic plan, for more effective impact of trainings and seminars that the Department of Education would be extending to the school-heads in the City Schools Division of Cagayan de Oro. The scope of this study was limited to seventy elementary level school-heads in the City Schools Division of Cagayan de Oro. The research was descriptive and correlational in nature. Structured questionnaires were used for gathering information about school-heads professional development needs. This was correlated with that of their perceived agreement as to the relevance of trainings they attended relative to their role and functions as school administrators. The findings have shown that trainings and seminars conducted were aligned with the professional development needs of the school heads as they perform their roles and functions. However, not all topics in the trainings conducted were able to address the desired competencies. It was also found out that although there is alignment of the trainings and seminars, there is still a need to consult and summarize their professional development needs in identifying topics for trainings conducted at different levels. The proposed training design for school heads shall be checked, monitored and evaluated by the Performance Management Team (PMT) as to alignment of topics to the professional development needs.

The findings would then be utilized as the basis for further enhancing the profile records of students enrolled in the said program. Likewise through a follow-up study to use such characteristics as predictors of students completing in getting a degree in Educational Planning and Management. Toward this end, the study used an archival research design. The study utilized all available documents relative to the profiles of students as they are archived in the Department of Educational Planning and Management. For reasons of confidentiality and ethical considerations, the study considers only the following characteristics from their profile, namely, gender, age, marital status, years of employment, employment type, and length of completion. The findings have shown that of these characteristics only gender was found to be significantly associated with the completion of master's and doctorate. Based on the findings, it was recommended that the Department should widen the coverage of the characteristics of students that should be included in their profile. As much as possible it should include socio-cultural and economic characteristics and psycho-emotional and intellectual considerations as well. In this way, the next profile of the entrants for the new curriculum, which at present is aptly named educational planning and administration will be more comprehensive and encompassing as compared to the previous one. Therefore, the more characteristics or indicators will be incorporated in the profiling of students, the more it becomes a valuable source of data that will not only be beneficial to the Department but very valuable sources for future study.
Australian infrastructure projects help promote national development and contribute significantly... more Australian infrastructure projects help promote national development and contribute significantly to the national economy. Assessing project performance is an important component of construction project management. Although there are many studies on the development of Australian infrastructure project assessment methods, factors influencing the performance of Australian infrastructure projects have not been explored. As a result of rapid developments in infrastructure projects and global economic trends towards environmental sustainability, there is an urgent need to study and assess the impact of risk-related factors on the performance of Australian infrastructure projects. The method commonly used to assess performance during project execution is Earned Value Management (EVM). A weakness of this approach is its inability to specifically measure the impact of a number of factors on project performance. Due to the complexity of infrastructure construction projects, the current EVM approach is not sufficient to accurately predict project performance in the Australian infrastructure construction environment. This complexity is particularly associated with risk-related factors. Therefore, the gap is the need to develop an integrated approach to EVM that provides a modified EVM concept considering risk-related factors affecting the performance of the infrastructure project in Australia. A set of risk-related factors was identified from the literature review and structured interviews with 15 interviewees. The set of risk-related factors was then tested with a questionnaire that was examined by a pilot study by using RII. The results of the questionnaire were analysed using SPSS and AMOS by using structural equation modelling (SEM) to extract the Risk Performance Index (RPI). The RPI was incorporated into the Estimate at Completion (EAC) equation to modify the concept. The performance of the revised concept was validated using historical data from previous Australian infrastructure projects. The result was a modified concept of EVM possessing greater precision and realism, and more able to assess the performance of infrastructure construction projects in Australia by taking into account the impact of emerging and other factors in the

This study aims at exploring the dynamic interplay of citizen’s satisfaction in the conduct of barangay assembly relative to their participation to said assembly as platform towards participatory local governance. Based on the results of our study, we recommended that LGU participation and regular attendance in barangay assemblies should be intensified, along with that, citizen’s participation and satisfaction right after the conduct of the assembly should have feedback mechanism, and based on the findings of our study we present policy implications and insights essential for the enhancing what is contain in Chapter 6 of the Local Government Code of the Philippines.
