Of these phases, early adolescence is an important stage in human growth and development that occurs during the age of 10 to 14, and usually associated with the onset of puberty. It is also a period in child development characterized by physical, mental, emotional, social, and personality changes. At this phase, they try to find out solutions for their routine problems without expecting the help of parents or any member in the community. And also they make decisions based on the problems which may either be a failure or success. Psychologists believe that, early adolescence has the ability to reason logically, deal with abstract ideas, connect between cause and effect, and make generalizations. They seek opportunities to master and express new skills to solve problems and control their own behaviour; and to form good social relationships with peers, family and others. During early adolescence, they desire to retrieve information and to solve new problems and help them to cope with new situations. Theoretical Framework The theoretical framework is a collection of interrelated concepts; which guides the researcher to establish the research in a correct pathway. It is a structure that identifies and describes the major elements and variables.

The prospective teachers who are competent with technical skills and have command over language alone can produce articulate students. Prospective teachers, when they enter the real classroom, are supposed to mould any type of clay into an anticipated form. Therefore, they must be trained by the teacher-educators in such a way that they, in future, should be able to cultivate pupils' inquisitiveness in learning through all senses in order to improve the level of language skills. The advent of multimedia outdates the traditional teaching method but its adoption is done at a snail's pace. Undoubtedly, multimedia technology plays an effective role in the process of teaching and learning language skills. Multimedia tools act as cognitive enhancers. They augment the learning experience of the prospective teachers and enable them to concentrate on the development of more sophisticated cognitive skills. The powerful cognitive ability of a learner reflects his or her profundity in language skills and effective communication. It is possible that they can hone their language skills greatly and effectively through technopedagogic practices. But the second language learners' language skills are seen to be left less developed in the absence of multimedia tools. Hence, it is the responsibility of teacher educators to strive hard with all their verve and vitality to make accessible to these learners the latest techno-pedagogic strategies to remove all the road blocks to their acquisition of the level of competence expected of them.

It is a complex cognitive activity that is indispensable for the kind of knowledge society. So the students of today's world must know how to learn from reading and to enter the present literate society. One who reads can lead others to light. People who read can be free because reading banishes ignorance and superstition. Reading has the power to revolutionize everyone's ways of thinking and living. It makes everyone think critically and creatively. Teachers must emphasize all kinds of reading, especially critical reading which is not just reading on the lines but it deals with reading between and beyond the lines. A critical reader challenges the author's assumptions, inferences, and conclusions, and judges the accuracy, reliability, quality and value of what he reads on the basis of sound criteria or standards developed through previous experiences. This kind of reading paves clear path for students to acquire better comprehensive ability through SQ3R techniques, computer multimedia and other activities such as skimming and scanning. Although there are ways and means to acquire reading skill, there are a few factors which affect it severely. Teachers must be careful in avoiding these hindrances and make their wards' reading easy, effective and successful. Teachers are the prime source for students in cultivating their reading habit. Their advice and encouragement will help the students move a step further in developing their attitude towards reading. Teachers can teach phonetics to readers of initial stage and help them pronounce the sounds of letters and words properly. They should also emphasize writing task in the primary grade as it is directly associated with reading programme. They can teach them syllabication to recognize new words. Special assistance may be given to students with regard to the selection of materials for reading based on their age, time and capacity and determine their reading levels. They must realize that they have to play major role in encouraging and engaging the students to become voracious readers.
