Periodic reliefs with the spatial frequency = (3370 ± 5) line/mm and various depths were formed on the Au film surface using interference lithography and vacuum chalcogenide photoresists. The degree of refractometer sensitivity enhancement and the variation interval of the environment refractive index, Δ , in which this enhancement is observed, are found to depend on the grating relief depth. The interval Δ decreases with the growth of the relief depth, whereas the sensitivity increases from 110 deg/RIU for a standard chip to 154 and 363 deg/RIU for structured chips with relief depths of 11.7 ± 2 and 18.5 ± ± 2 nm, respectively. Simulation of SPR sensor response has been performed using the Fresnel equations with account of noise contribution and the Jones calculus. It has been demonstrated that using third-order polynomial approximation in the angular scanning range of θ SPR ± 0.5° with 100 experimental points improves the sensitivity of "Plasmon" series instruments by an order of magnitude.

To minimize the effect of the temperature change induced noise, compensation (introduction of the reference channel) and stabilization (active thermal control) methods were applied, allowing to substantially enhance resolution of the used SPR sensor system.

Periodic reliefs of different depths and spatial frequency were formed on the Au film surface using interference lithography and vacuum chalcogenide photoresists. Spatial frequencies of the grating were selected close to the conditions of Bragg reflection of plasmons for the working wavelength of the SPR refractometer and the used environment (solution of glycerol in water). It was found that the degree of refractometer sensitivity enhancement and the value of the interval of environment refractive index variation, Δn, in which this enhancement is observed, depend on the depth of the grating relief. By increasing the depth of relief from 13.5 ± 2 nm to 21.0 ± 2 nm, Δn decreased from 0.009 to 0.0031, whereas sensitivity increased from 110 deg./RIU (refractive index unit) for a standard chip up to 264 and 484 deg./RIU for the nanostructured chips, respectively. Finally, it was shown that the working range of the sensor can be adjusted to the refractive index of the studied environment by changing the spatial frequency of the grating, by modification of the chip surface or by rotation of the chip.

When measuring the kinetics of refraction indexes for the studied samples of used oil, the authors observed a characteristic "shoulder" caused by sedimentation of oxidation and wear particles on the surface of SPR device sensitive element, while in the case of fresh oil there took place only the temperature drift of the refraction index. It has been experimentally shown that using the SPR method improves more than one order (from Δf min = 0.17 vol.% down to Δf min = 0.0107 vol.%) the detection limit and enhances sensitivity of measuring the wear particles concentration in motor oil as compared with the refractometric method. Thus, it is experimentally proved that the SPR method can be...

Porous nanocomposite films with the thickness profile close to the wedge are obtained by pulse-laser deposition in an argonatmosphere on a substrate located within the plane of the target. The angular dependence of the intensity of internal reflection, R(θ), in the Krechman geometry at a wavelength λ=650 nm is measured. The approximation of experimental dependences of R(θ) by the optical model allows determining the effective values of the refractive indexes, neff, and absorption coefficients, keff, of the films. As determined, the values of neff are in the range 1.38—1.65, and keff =0.003—0.04

As sensitive layers capable to change their optical properties when interacting with volatile alcohol molecules, we investigated bulk-porous sorbents-calixarenes (tret-butyl-calix[4,6,8]arenes (С[4]А, С[6]А, С[8]А), tetra-amyl-calix[4] resorchinolaren (C[4]Re). Each calixarene was studied to obtain its kinetic concentration SPR characteristics for interaction with ethanol, isopropanol and penthanol vapors. To realize SPR measurements, the sensitive calixarene films (d ∼ 100 nm) were deposited on a gold film (d ∼ 45 nm) by using the method of thermal evaporation in vacuum. Experimental multi-element SPR device was designed as based on the analysis of TV image obtained for the studied array of calixarene films and tested using saturated ethanol vapors. .

The developed biosensor with SPA-Cys-based bioselective element can also be used as a first step of immunosensor creation. The successful immobilization of SPA-Cys on the nanolayer gold sensor surface of the SPR spectrometer was performed. The efficiency of blocking nonspecific sorption sites on the sensor surface with milk proteins, gelatin, BSA, and HSA was studied, and a rather high efficiency of using gelatin was confirmed. The SPR biosensor selectively interacted with IgG and did not interact with the control proteins. The linear dependence of the sensor response on the IgG concentration in the range from 2 to 10 μg/ml was shown. Using the calibration curve, the IgG concentration was measured in the model samples. The determined concentrations are in good agreement (r 2 = 0.97) with the given concentration of IgG.
