Research paper thumbnail of Environmental variables influence the developmental stages of the citrus leafminer, infestation level and mined leaves physiological response of Kinnow mandarin

Scientific Reports, 2021

Citrus leafminer (Phyllocnistis citrella) is a potential pest that directly feeds the newly sprouted leaves and twigs of all three spring, summer and autumn flushes. Increasing temperatures in spring and autumn, leafminer accrued more heat units or developmental degree days to accelerate the biological stages of its life-cycle, thereby increasing the pressure of infestation. Present work was conducted at three different environmental conditions in Sargodha, Toba Tek Singh (TTS) and Vehari districts of the Punjab province, Pakistan; all three experimental sites were located in different agro-ecological zones. More infestation was recorded in all three flushes at TTS and Vehari than in Sargodha. Overall, more damage was observed due to higher temperatures in TTS and Vehari than in Sargodha. After May–June heat stress, spontaneous ...

Research paper thumbnail of Economic Analysis of Citrus (Kinnow mandarin) during On-Year and Off-Year in the Punjab Province, Pakistan

Journal of Horticulture, 2018

Alternate or biennial bearing is production of heavy and light crops in successive years and most of fruits including citrus are affected by it. The present study was conduct on economic analysis of citrus during on year and off-year in three districts of the Punjab province Pakistan. More alternate bearing was observed in Vehari and TTS districts due to late harvesting. Alternate bearing was observed less in Sargodha due to timely harvesting of Kinnow fruit for export. In Vehari and TTS harvesting linked with domestic markets and was done late than Sargodha. Fruit grades prices were recorded higher in off-year during all harvesting months while fruit availability for export also affected by biennial bearing. During off-year more income from orchards were reduced in Vehari and TTS than Sargodha. The complete randomized block design (RCBD) was used in filed study and a survey of farmers, local markets and exporters was performed to analyze it impact on citrus industry.

Research paper thumbnail of Social Adjustment of Transgender: A Study of District Chiniot, Punjab (Pakistan)

In Pakistan transgender are a marginalized group and are commonly associated with dancing, prostitution and begging. This research looks at five dimensions of transgender, psychological, social, political, religious, and their individual adjustment. Based on fieldwork conducted in Pakistan the main factors influencing of the transgender are age, education, family structure and family members. One of the main features of the lives of many transgender is membership in a transgender community, which this research shows can have both positive and negative effects on society. The present study was designed to explore the social adjustment of transgender in district Chiniot. For the purpose of the study existing literature on the topics was thoroughly reviewed. A sample of 120 respondents was taken equally (40 from each) three randomly selected localities Towns, Villages and Mahallas. Questionnaire was prepared in the light of research objectives for data collection. Suitability of the questionnaire was examined through its pretesting on the twenty respondents Interviewing with questionnaire schedule was use as a tool to collected data. SPSS (statically package for social sciences) was used for data analysis. Statistical analysis Chi-Square secure test was taken to check the relationship between the independent and dependent variables.

Research paper thumbnail of Real Time 3D Representation and Tracking of Guidewire for Image Guided Cardiovascular Interventions

Advances in experimental medicine and biology, 2017

Visual tracking and 3D representation of guidewire in fluoroscopic image sequence for beating hea... more Visual tracking and 3D representation of guidewire in fluoroscopic image sequence for beating heart image guided interventions is very challenging task. The degraded image quality due to low dose fluoroscopy further complicates the problem. In this paper a robust guidewire tracking is proposed for mean shift algorithm using integrated colour, texture and depth features. The target colour, texture and depth features are encoded into gray level intensity histogram, filtered local binary pattern histogram and filtered local depth pattern histograms respectively. For depth features a 3D image acquisition system for C-Arm, X-Ray imaging system is simulated for real time three dimensional shape recovery of guidewire and associated vessels for vertical beating heart motion using shape from focus technique. The proposed technique provides 3D visualization of guide wire and vessels to the physician as well as real time robust guidewire tip tracking. Experimental results of guidewire tip trac...
