Old age is the closing period of the life of an individual. A person's activities, attitudes towards life, relationships to the family and work, biological capacities and physical fitness are all confined by the position in the age structure of the particular society in where she/he lives. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the health care services in old homes and aging people preferences for the place of end-of-life care and their need for receiving health care services in Bangladesh. About 51% male, 49% were female and mean age of the respondents was (65.43±5.239) years. Most of them (98%) were Muslim, 94.1% married and 35.29% were in master degree holder. Mean income of the respondents was (Tk. 19600±17530.92), family member (2.96±1.26) person and average living years in old homes was (mean = 2.94±2.58 Years). About 68.63% came by their self-activities, 11.76% respondents were bought by their sons. About 52.9% came in old homes for their family problem, 74.29% came in old homes by conflict with their sons. Monthly expense of the respondents were (tk. 9053.57±2310.76) in public old homes while in private old homes is total free of cost. About 28.6% essential services, 32.1% regular service, 53.6% health related services, 51.9% doctors services and only 10.7% gained medicines in public old homes while 87.0% essential services, 73.9% regular service, 95.7% health related services, 69.6% doctors services and 87.0% gained medicines in private old homes. Both public and private old homes had no ambulance services for male and female separately and in both old homes give food three times daily. About 28.6% are agreeable and 28.6% are satisfied in public old homes while 87.0% are agreeable and 87.0% are satisfied in private old homes. The present findings may help the planners and policymakers to develop an effective old homes care system in Bangladesh considering Bangladeshi people's need for health care services.

In a traditional, copper-based approach, the long connections between processors in an interconnection network create major limitations with respect to the speed of communication. Our approach for inter-block communication in a MM uses optical communication using Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM). Rather than passive stars or free-space optics, used to implement some recent optoelectronic communication schemes for interconnection networks, this design uses wavelength routed fiber-based networks.

This paper presents an approach to evaluate the performance of a noise robust audiovisual speaker identification system using likelihood ratio based score fusion in challenging environment. Though the traditional HMM based audiovisual speaker identification system is very sensitive to the speech parameter variation, the proposed likelihood ratio based score fusion method is found to be stance and performs well for improving the robustness and naturalness of human-computerinteraction. In this paper, we investigate the proposed audiovisual speaker identification system in typical office environments conditions. To do this, we investigated two approaches that utilize speech utterance with visual features to improve speaker identification performance in acoustically and visually challenging environment: one seeks to eliminate the noise from the acoustic and visual features by using speech and facial image pre-processing techniques. The other task combines speech and facial features that have been used by the multiple Discrete Hidden Markov Model classifiers with likelihood ratio based score fusion. It is shown that the proposed system can improve a significant amount of performance for audiovisual speaker identification in challenging official environment conditions.

Also the combined effects of high Dean Number Dn and curvature δ on the flow are investigated. Spectral method is applied as a main tool for the numerical technique; where, Fourier series, Chebyshev polynomials, Collocation methods, and Iteration method are used as secondary tools. The flow patterns have been shown graphically for large Dean Numbers and a wide range of curvature, 0.01≤δ≤0.9.Two vortex solutions have been found for secondary flow. Axial velocity has been found to increase with the increase of Dean number and decrease with the increase of curvature. For high Dean number and low curvature almost all the fluid particles leave the inner half of the cross-section. The stable solution zone increases with the increase of curvature up to a certain limit, then decrease.DOI: 10.3329/jname.v7i1.3630
