Wide band gap zinc ferrite polycrystals were synthesized by coprecipitation technique. The prepar... more Wide band gap zinc ferrite polycrystals were synthesized by coprecipitation technique. The preparation technique was repeated with the infusion of 5% and 50% of copper ions. The optical absorbance of the samples was determined by UVvisible spectral analysis. A red shift in the absorbance was observed with the infusion of copper. The band gap was calculated to be 3.32 eV, 3.13 eV and 3.12 eV for pure zinc ferrite and for those infused with 5% and 50% of copper respectively.
Strontium Ferrite (SrFe12O19) nanoparticles are synthesized by co-precipitation method with NaOH ... more Strontium Ferrite (SrFe12O19) nanoparticles are synthesized by co-precipitation method with NaOH as the precipitating agent. The synthesized samples are annealed at 500 0 C, 700 0 C and 900 0 C for 2 hours. X-ray diffraction pattern confirms the hexagonal crystal structure. The corresponding crystallite size of the samples is calculated using Scherrer equation for the above temperatures and the values are 41nm, 42nm and 38nm.

Tin oxide nano particles are synthesized by co-precipitation method. The synthesized particles are annealed by hot air oven, microwave and muffle furnace. The products are characterized by powder XRD pattern and the crystallite sizes are calculated using Scherrer formula. All the synthesized tin oxide samples are nano sized. FTIR spectrum confirms the presence of tin oxide and absence of impurities.

Good quality single crystals with size 6.02mm x 2.63mm x 1.81mm were grown in 32 days. Single crystal and powder XRD analyses confirmed the orthorhombic crystal structure. Vibration spectrum was recorded to determine the symmetries of molecular vibrations. The TGA, DTA shows that the material has good thermal stability; the UV-Vis spectrum shows the transmitting ability of the crystal in the entire visible region. The dielectric constant and dielectric loss were calculated by varying frequencies at different temperature. The microhardness test reveals that the crystals possess good mechanical strength.
