The survey questionnaire requires respondents to answer a 20-item measure of difficulty they face in relation to their interaction under two dimensions: socio-cultural and academic dimensions. Pearson correlation coefficient shows a positive relationship between social integration and academic adaptation with a significant level of 0.01. The higher the ability of the students to adapt socially into the new environment, the better their capability is in making adjustment academically.

INTRODUCTION The purpose of this paper is to model the determinants of health care expenditures; investigate the short-run, long-run equilibrium dynamic causal relationship between health care and income per capita within the time series framework from 1981-2014 in Malaysia. For appropriate model specification and forecasting accuracy different econometric diagnostic tests were applied. Ordinary least square (OLS) method was used to estimate the long run parameters. Long run co-integration was investigated by Auto-Regressive Distributed Lag Model (ARDL) Bound approach, whereas, for causality analysis the Engle-Granger method was used. Income, population structure, and population growth was identified the significant contributing factors to explain variations in health care expenditure. The estimated income elasticity for health care expenditure was found 0.99 < 1 showing health care was a necessity. The results confirmed a feedback hypothesis between health expenditure and income per capita.

Design engineers are often required to develop and estimate Reliability before the product is produced. Inaccurate predictions can lead to over design and/or excessive spare parts procurement. This work is based on the study of Reliability Analysis carried out on Electronic Communication Systems used in the aircraft avionics. This system was applied in the beginning for the Secure Speech Equipment designed specifically to encrypt voices as well as for fax and computer data. The Part Stress Analysis modeling is used in this study which is a worldwide standard for performing reliability predictions. The Reliability Block diagram is also developed as a tool for reliability prediction.

The orbit of satellite cannot be calculated using the theoretical method for precise calculation.... more The orbit of satellite cannot be calculated using the theoretical method for precise calculation. This is because the orbital elements will deviate from true elements with time. Regression of the lines-of-the-nodes and rotation of the line-of-apsides (major axis) are the two principal effect of the perturbation of low altitude orbits due to the oblate shape of the earth. This gravitational effect of an oblate earth can be modeled by using Spherical Harmonics to satisfy the Laplace’s Equation. A precise calculation of the perturbations is possible only if the orbit is sufficiently well known. The results can be obtained by using Ordinary Differential Equation, i.e., Runge-Kutta method, and Matlab to view the graphs. This paper discusses the development of Mathematical Modeling and Analysis Software on Perturbation Effects Using Cowell’s Method and with the help of Matlab to visualize the Effect.

After six months, as of December 29, 2009, it was reported by WHO that more than 208 countries and territories were affected by the pandemic accounting for about 150,000 infected cases and at least 11,516 death. In Malaysia, during the first wave, there are about 14,912 cases were reported from May, 15, 2009 until June, 4, 2010 and a total number of 88 deaths were recorded across the country in 2010. The aim of this study is to assess the transmissibility of this pandemic in Malaysia by estimating the basic reproduction number, Ro, which is the average number of secondary cases generated by a single primary case. The value of Ro is a summary measure of the transmission potential in a given epidemic setting and has been estimated to range from 1.4 -1.6 in Mexico, from 2.0 -2.6 in Japan, 1.96 in New Zealand and 1.68 in China for this current pandemic.

In this work synthetics data are generated from in house built simulator that is able to replicate sea bed logging environment. Sea bed logging (SBL) is a technique of finding resistive layers under sea bed by transmitting low frequency EM waves through sea water and sediment. Hydrocarbon is known to have high resistivity, about 30 - 500 Ωm and EM wave will be guided and reflected if there is hydrocarbon reservoir in the sediment. In SBL low frequency is used to obtain greater wavelength for longer wave penetration. In this work frequency used are 0.5Hz, 0.25Hz, 0.125Hz and 0.0625Hz and sediment thickness are varied from 1000m to 3000m incremented every 250m. Data collected are interpolated using cubic spline with step sizes of 4,8,12 and 16 and mean square are calculated between original and interpolated data. The Analysis of variance (ANOVA) method is used to study any significant different between sediment thickness level and spline step size levelat each frequency and sediment thickness level with frequency level at each step size. It is found from ANOVA tables that sediment thickness and step sizes and sediment thickness and frequency are having significant different. These indicate that the chosen parameters are contributing significantly to the MSE calculated.
