The expansion of the concept of finance, other influential factors in addition to physical assets... more The expansion of the concept of finance, other influential factors in addition to physical assets and labor force have been identified in the economic growth process. One of those factors is the productivity of resources influenced by a variety of other factors including knowledge. The purpose of the present article is to categorize and scrutinize a long-run relationship and convergence among a diversity of knowledge variations in the framework of the Knowledge-Based Economy (KBE) in Iran during 1993-2013. To do so, Tukey and PCA techniques were applied to categorize and derive components of KBE indicators. Moreover, ARDL bound test was used to determine a long-run relationship among the variables. Based on the test, the existence of the independent convergence vector between knowledge and economic growth was proven indicating that there is a long-run relationship among KBE components. After determining the order of VAR, based on AIC, vector error correction model was estimated and ECM coefficient of-0.6324 was obtained showing that the speed of deviation adjustment from short-run to long-run is slow.

Since global warming is threatening the lives of all mankind and species, the Paris agreement was conceived to avert the negatives of climate change and it was adopted by the majority of countries. This paper seeks to examine the impacts of the Paris agreement, fossil fuel consumption, and net energy imports on CO2 emissions of Germany, France, and Spain in the post-Paris agreement with Panel datasets from 1995 to 2019 using both fully modified OLS (FMOLS) and dynamic OLS (DOLS). The purpose of this study is to analyze how the Paris agreement has changed the amount of CO2 emissions in 3 industrialized countries in western Europe. The findings of the two methods indicate that net energy import and three fossil fuel consumption parameters have meaningful positive effects on CO2 emissions. Key findings suggest that based on FMOLS results the Paris agreement has a very negligible, though negative impact around 0.0087 on carbon dioxide emissions. While according to DOLS results it still has a negative, but also meaningless impact. Based on statistics, oil consumption has the most to do with carbon dioxide emissions, which is followed by gas and coal consumption, thereby substitution with fewer pollutant energies, such as renewable energies can help CO2 emissions mitigation.

As a tradable asset and as an important and effective economic variable, exchange rate plays a decisive role in the economy of a country. In a successful economic management, the modeling and prediction of the exchange rate volatility is essential for economic policies. Therefore, modeling and forecasting the changes in exchange rates for economic policies is vital. Foreign currency has the particular property of stochastic volatility, which can be modeled as a stochastic differential equation. In order to provide the best model, first, we studied the effectiveness of different stochastic models, drew upon the daily price of the exchange rate, and investigated the performance of these models. Finally, the best model was achieved by taking into account the numerical simulation and the mean square error, Akaikes (AIC), Schwarzs Bayesi...

The algorithm consists of three steps, namely preprocessing, processing, and postprocessing. Preprocessing consists of principal component analysis and reproduction algorithm, which are used to decrease the number of variables and increase the volume of data. Economic growth is predicted during processing using multilayer perceptron (MLP), adaptive neuro-fuzzy inferences system, and gene expression programming (GEP). The variables are added separately to the process. The best model is selected during the postprocessing step to forecast economic growth. GEP model is used to forecast unique indicators. The last step involves substitution of forecasted indicators in the best model. In this study, the KBE indicators of Iran from 1993 to 2013 are predicted in the processing step. The MLP model is used, which includes four indicators, namely technological foundation, structure of trained manpower, export and trademark, and employee. Indicators are also forecasted using the GEP model between 2013 and 2020. The results are used to estimate economic growth between forecasting periods. A self-organizing map is used to recognize relationships between variables. The results show the efficiency of the algorithm in multivariate forecasting.

Based on micro-data taken from local job seekers with university degrees who registered in private jobfinding agencies (JFAs) in Urmia city in 2015, this relationship was estimated. Out of a population of 3481 job applicants with tertiary education (bachelor's or above degrees), 366 were selected based on random sampling. Regression analysis and Logit model were utilized to investigate this relationship. In our regression analysis, over-education was considered as the dependent variable, while age, gender and skill acted as explanatory variables. The findings of this study indicate that with rising qualifications of the university graduates job applicants, the possibility of overeducation and education-occupation mismatch increases, but there is a negative correlation with age and probability of educational mismatch.

Design/methodology/approach First, for grouping and reducing the number of variables, Tukey method and the principal component analysis are used. Also for modeling, 67 per cent of data is used for training in the two approaches of ARDL bounds testing and gene expression programming (GEP) and 33 per cent of them for testing the models. Then, the result models are compared with fitness function and Akaike information criteria (AIC). Findings The GEP model with fitness 945.7461 for training data and 954.8403 for testing data from 1000 is better than ARDL bounds testing model with fitness 335.5479 from 1000. In addition, according to model comparison tools (AIC), the GEP model has an extremely larger weight in comparison with ARDL bounds model. Therefore, the GEP model is introduced for future use in...

This impact is evaluated based on the individual and independent researches between 1997-2013 after the advent of European Employment Strategy and using Meta-Analysis method. The impacts of job search assistance and employment services, labor market training and job and employment creation programs on employment chance and unemployment duration is analyzed by synthesis of the outcomes of microeconometric evaluations. By using the outcomes of 22 individual researches, 53 active labor market programs were analyzed in three categories: job search assistance and employment services, labor market training and job and employment creation programs. For these analyses two models, namely, fixed effect and random effect were employed. For all three categories the heterogeneity among the researches was verified. For each program random effect model showed positive albeit trivial effect on employment chance.

Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA)-Range Adjusted Measure model (RAM) is one of the non-radial models to evaluate the performance of companies. This paper presents a fully fuzzy network DEA-RAM model for evaluating airlines and extends the network DEA-RAM model in the fully fuzzy framework. First, a network structure is designed for airlines and then, a DEA-RAM model is presented for calculating efficiency scores. To handle uncertainty in data, fully fuzzy approach is considered and finally, a multi-objective network model is proposed to calculate airlines' efficiencies. To solve the proposed fully fuzzy DEA-RAM model, the lexicographic approach is used and the efficiency scores are reported as interval numbers. To illustrate the capability of the proposed fully fuzzy DEA-RAM model, the actual data of 14 Iranian airlines are gathered and the interval efficiencies of airlines are evaluated.
