This research is based on understanding of mathematical concept and the lack of individual studen... more This research is based on understanding of mathematical concept and the lack of individual student’s responsibility. It refers to the result 8th grade from SMP N 3 Sijunjung, Year of study 2013/2014. The purpose of this research is to know understanding of student mathematical concept that apply “talking stick” with “everyone is a teacher here” is better than understanding concept of mathematical that apply conventional learning at class VIII SMP N 3 Sijunjung. This kind of research is experimental type, subject is selected randomly. This research populution is student of VIII SMP N 3 Sijunjung, year of study 2013/2014 which is consisted of five classes. to definite experiment class and control class is executed randomly. That’s how class VIII.C chosen as experiment class and VIII.B as control class. Instrumen used in this research is about understanding of mathematical concept. Type of test used is essay with test of realibility 0,718. Analysis technic used is T-test one side with MINITAB software. Based on analysis result is recognized that both class sample have normal distribution and homogeneous. Result of test is recognized as P-value < α, so hypotheses for this research is accepted. it can be concluded that understanding of student mathematical concept that apply learning model “talking stick” with “everyone is a teacher here” is better than understanding concept of mathematical that apply conventional learning at class VIII SMP N 3 Sijunjung

India being an agricultural country, the most part of economy depends on yield growth. Agricultur... more India being an agricultural country, the most part of economy depends on yield growth. Agriculture largely depends on rainwater and also depends on diverse soil parameters, namely nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and weather aspects like temperature and rainfall. The technological growth in agriculture will increase the crop productivity. Remote sensing systems like IoT systems are being more widely used in smart farming systems, and these systems produce generous amount of data. Machine learning is a promising research arena to anticipate the crop based on the data patterns. The proposed system will integrate the IoT sensors like PH sensor, moisture, rainfall, temperature and humidity sensors to observe the data from those sensors and applying machine learning algorithms: Random Forest and GDBoost. A prediction of the most suitable crops according to the current environment is made. This work provides producers a stronger forecast to plant what kind of plants in their farm area depending on the parameters mentioned above to enhance smart farming’s productivity.

Since natural disasters can affect many people over a vast area, studying information-seeking beh... more Since natural disasters can affect many people over a vast area, studying information-seeking behavior (ISB) during disasters is of great importance. Many previous studies have relied on online social network data, providing insights into the ISB of those with Internet access. However, in a large-scale natural disaster such as the Great East Japan Earthquake of 2011, people in the most severely affected areas tended to have limited Internet access. Therefore, an alternative data source should be explored to investigate disaster-related ISB. This study's contributions are twofold. First, we provide a detailed description of natural disaster-related ISB of people who experienced a large-scale earthquake and tsunami, based on analysis of written testimonies published by local authorities. This provided insight into the relationship between information needs, channels, and sources of disaster-related ISB. Also, our approach facilitates the study of ISB of people without Internet access both during and after a disaster. Second, we provide empirical evidence to demonstrate that the temporal stages of a disaster can characterize people's ISB during the disaster. Therefore, we propose further consideration of the temporal aspects of events for improved understanding of disaster-related ISB.

The aim from this research is to know the comprehension students’ mathematics which use Bisnis Beresiko Technique more better from a comprehension students’ with use a conventional learning. A kind from this research is experiment with random design to subject. The instrument is study kuesioner effectiviness and comprehension students’ mathematics test like essay with reliability test is = 0,85. Analysis data technique which use is t-test in one side with Minitab. According to the hypothesis, the result P- value = 0,023 more smaller from α = 0,05, so that the hypothesis research is accepted. The conclusion from this research is a comprehension students’ mathematics with use Bisnis Beresiko Technique more better from with use conventional learning.

Research is caused by the applied mathematic instructional strategies teacher are less variable, the learning process is centered on the teacher so that, the learning occurs is one-way. One method to overcome these problems by applying the method of Index Card Match (ICM) in learning. This study aims to determine whether students' understanding of mathematical concepts by applying method of Index Card Match (ICM) is better than student understanding of mathematical concepts with conventional teaching eighth grade students MTsN Pekan Selasa Kabupaten Solok Selatan. The type of research is the design of experimental studies Against Random Subjects. The research instrument is the final test in the form of essays. The hypothesis testing using t-test of the parties with the help of MINITAB, obtained P-value of 0.000 is smaller than a = 0.05, so it can be concluded that the students' understanding of mathematical concepts by applying method of Index Card Match (ICM) is better than understanding concepts conventional mathematical learning.

This research is done due to the fact that most of students do not dare to ask about learning mat... more This research is done due to the fact that most of students do not dare to ask about learning material, in oral ways, which is not understood so that students become less active and lack of mastering mathematical concept. This study is aimed to determine how students learning activities are done and to find out whether the understanding of students’ mathematical concept become better by using active learning strategy “Giving Questions and Getting Answers (GQGA)” than the conventional ones. The type of this research is experimental research; with the design of the research is Randomized Subject. The population of this research is students of grade XII Social Science at SMAN 16 Padang which consist of four classes. In determining the experimental class and the control class, researcher chooses it randomly, so that XII Social Science 1 is chosen as experimental class, and XII Social Science 2 as control class. The instruments that are used in this study are students’ activity observation sheet and the test of students’ understanding for mathematical concept. Based on the result of the study, it is found that implementing active learning strategy “Giving Questions and Getting Answers (GQGA) have increasing percentage in each meeting. The result of analysis data find out that two sample classes normal distributed and homogenous at the level of α = 0,05 and the result of t test is obtained P- value = 0,020, smaller than α = 0,05, so that hypothesis is approved.
