During the decadal journey that the concept has traversed, non-availability of working capital fund has been cited as one of the key areas which is hampering the growth of the POs in the desired way as it was envisaged. An innovative approach to address the requirement of Working capital fund has been undertaken by a Producer Organization Promoting Institution (POPI) in Punjab to adopt the model of Joint Liability Groups (JLGs) to address challenges of working capital fund. This model has the potential to be adopted on a Pan-India basis to facilitate dynamism in the POs.

This growth underlined the vital role that agriculture plays in overall economic development of the country. Farmers Producers Organizations played a significant role in facilitating this growth as they established a direct connection with the customers leveraging on diversified tools of technology. Platform of Farmers Producers Organizations (FPOs) were put into service to mend the fractured supply lines and they were given exposure to outreach of technology to address their extension related matters and product marketing. With the advent of the FPOs during the last decade or so, an awareness is created about leveraging technology and automating the process at the farmers' level to optimize capacity utilization and facilitate improvement of processes at the field level. Adoption of technology not only facilitates enhanced output, it also trims down the input cost, thereby increasing profit in the hands of the farmers. For Small and Marginal Farmers (SMF), pooling of agricultural technical innovations helps him cut down his input and marketing cost and obtain a better price realization. Faster adoption of technology by SMF would provide better price realization and qualitative enhancement in the value chain. Three critical componentsmanpower, capital and weather advisory of agriculture can be better managed with technological advances in the field.

Agriculture and its related services are the major source of livelihood of this population. In the past few decades agriculture sector was reduced and it became a hidden unemployment of farmers and its dependent workers. The price hike in agriculture equipments, pesticides and other essential things, low price of crops, cost of living of villagers are some major problems of farmers. The income of farmers and working labours is unorganized and with very slow growth rate. The cultivation of crops and income of workers depend on seasonal regimes and natural disasters. There are many examples of natural disasters and various types of pandemics had destructed the life of these workers in last decades. All these problems caused migration of workers from rural areas to urban centers in search of better employment. This increases the load of unorganized workers or population in cities. Life came to a standstill and economic activities came to a grinding halt. For a country like India, which
still is predominantly an agrarian economy the debilitating effect of lockdown has had both backward and forward linkages. The backward and forward impact in the agricultural supply chain gave rise collectively
to supply risks, risks in demand, financial risks, risks associated with infrastructure and logistics, and risks pertaining to policies and regulation. During these covid times, FPOs (Farmers Producers Organizations)
showed great resilience and were able to build up a market for themselves in B2C( Business to Consumer) space. They have the potential to provide a bouquet solution to the problems that the agricultural sector
has faced as a by-product of Covid 19 as they work in a composite land system and are aware about the specific solutions pertaining to the land system. Digitisation of processes at the farmer’s level and at his
disposal facilitates farmers to utilize his capacities in an efficient manner and provides scope for improvement of field processes. Adoption of technology to digitise processes would help in optimised utilisation of resources and provide qualitative enhancement to the agricultural value chain. 3 Ms, Money (Working Capital), Market and Material (logistics warehousing etc.)would influence the growth of the FPOs.
