The source of infection for children is usually an adult in their household with active TB. Only few studies have been carried out among household children contacts of active TB patients in India to assess the risk factors of infection among children. Aim and Objective: To study the risk factors of TB infection among household children contacts of sputum positive patients. Only few caregivers (9.3%) perceived “fast/difficult breathing” as danger sign and only 12% and 16.1% respectively had adequate knowledge about risk factors and preventive measures of childhood pneumonia. The study found statistically significant association between parent’s education status and knowledge about risk factors, preventive measures and ability to recognize early danger signs of childhood pneumonia.
