Grid computing is considered as a very high performance computing environment to solve complex co... more Grid computing is considered as a very high performance computing environment to solve complex computational problems. It comprises of job scheduling, security, resource management, information management. The scheduling concept is needed for better management of resources. Scheduling refers to order of jobs which satisfy the metrics like satisfaction of user, completion time etc. Better scheduling policy in grid computing helps in improving performance, computational cost, load balancing and increases reliability and availability of resources. This paper end up with brief description of existing scheduling algorithms by considering different metrics used to prove importance of existing techniques.

Deep learning has been employed in a number of tasks. Taking inspiration from detection of tumors... more Deep learning has been employed in a number of tasks. Taking inspiration from detection of tumors in medical tiff images, we had an idea of doing the same with other objects such as vegetables and plants which get affected by disease very often and still there are not many feasible approach of its detection. In this paper we present a practical approach to grade potato and classify the defects that might be present. We have used U-Net for segmentation of image containing on an average 50–60 potatoes. A physical object (marker) of known length is present along the potatoes for length reference. The U-net segmented result is then processed by computer vision algorithms (Distance transformation and watershed) to get the actual skin of the object of interest. After that we have used transfer learning to classify the skin for a number of defects such as greening, mechanical defect, rotting, sprouting etc.

Nowadays, grid computing is a recognized name in the area of computation. Grid computing provides... more Nowadays, grid computing is a recognized name in the area of computation. Grid computing provides a strong platform for the jobs demanding high computational power. Resource scheduling and job scheduling are two broad categories of grid computing. A lot of work has been done in this area. In this paper, we present a new job scheduling algorithm which focuses on standard round-robin algorithm with the addition of new “Enhancement Factor”. The experimental evaluation shows that the proposed algorithm reduces Average Waiting Time and Average Turnaround Time, and it takes very less time to process the jobs than other existing algorithms.

Recognition of emotion using facial information is an interesting field for computer science, med... more Recognition of emotion using facial information is an interesting field for computer science, medicine, and psychology. Various researches are working with automated facial expression recognition system. Convolutional neural network (CNN) for facial emotion recognition method is basically used to recognize different-different human facial landmarks, geometrical poses, and emotions of faces. Human facial expression gives very important information to understand the emotions of a person for an interpersonal relationship. Since it is a classification problem, so the performance of any classifier is dependent on features extracted from the region of interest of the sample. In this paper, we are going to train the machine to recognize different types of emotions through human facial expressions using the Convolutional Neural Network (CNN). We have used sequential forward selection algorithms and softmax activation function.

This paper presents a job scheduling algorithm that can utilize the resources in efficient way.

Round Robin Algorithm is a scheduling algorithm in Operating system, used for multitasking system... more Round Robin Algorithm is a scheduling algorithm in Operating system, used for multitasking systems. In RR algorithm, all the process having same priority and a time quantum after that process is prevented. It executes in ideal way in multitasking systems and each process will be having a same quantity of static time quantum. Based on Time quantum the efficiency of RR algorithm is determined. A complete study and implementation Round Robin algorithm is done and the advance and new version of RR algorithm by allocating the processor to processes in round robin manner using the possible time slice. Computation of the quantum is done by square root of the multiplication of average of the burst time and highest burst time. The practical result of this algorithm also shows that it is better than the Round Robin algorithm by the reduced context switches, diminishing aggregate turnaround time and the average wait time.
