A novel method for synthesizing magnetite-containing polyaniline-polyacrylamide nanocomposite (PA... more A novel method for synthesizing magnetite-containing polyaniline-polyacrylamide nanocomposite (PAni-PAAm/Fe 3 O 4) nanocomposite has been reported. The synthesized polymer was characterized with Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and size of the polymer particles was determined using particle analyzer. The corrosion inhibition action of the polymer nanocomposite has been investigated using weight loss measurements, Tafel polarization and electrochemical impedance spectroscopic techniques. The experimental results obtained revealed that the synthesized polymer inhibits the mild steel corrosion in HCl medium and maximum efficiency was obtained at 100 ppm concentration of the inhibitor. Potentiodynamic polarization studies clearly showed that the PAni-PAAm/Fe 3 O 4 acted as mixed inhibitor. Adsorption of the inhibitor on the metal surface obeyed Langmuir adsorption isotherm.
