El conflicto emocional de Ernesto en Los ríos profundos, de José María Arguedas, es más que la ej... more El conflicto emocional de Ernesto en Los ríos profundos, de José María Arguedas, es más que la ejemplificación autobiográfica de los conflictos emocionales del autor, es una muestra de las emociones del sujeto latinoamericano, en tanto se hace consciente de su lugar y las características de su devenir histórico. Esta ponencia es una propuesta de relectura de Los ríos profundos como una invitación a ser latinoamericano. No se trata de agregar unas líneas a la ya nutrida investigación sobre la literatura de Arguedas, se trata más bien de insistir en la actualidad del texto, en la necesidad de refrescar la memoria de los pueblos, con nuevas o antiguas historias vernáculas, pero en todo caso con la intención de buscar en sus escritos las razones que nos llevan a ser lo que somos como continente.
PURPOSE: To determine the isotope compsn. of the element contained in a sample by allowing carrie... more PURPOSE: To determine the isotope compsn. of the element contained in a sample by allowing carrier gas containing no selected element to flow to a heating catalyst (Pt.Rh alloy of about 1200 deg.C) reactor and pyrolyzing the sample in the reactor. CONSTITUTION: Carrier gas containing no selected element is allowed to flow through a heating catalyst reactor 2 and the flow of the carrier gas is introduced into a sample before it enters the reactor 2 so that the sample is pyrolyzed within the reactor 2. All of C in the sample is converted to an element C precipitated within the reactor 2 and all of O in the sample is reacted with the element C to be substantially perfectly converted to CO and all of H and N in the sample are substantially perfectly converted to molecular H and molecular N. Este trabajo está basado en el análisis de la novela La carroza de Bolívar (2012), del escritor E... more Este trabajo está basado en el análisis de la novela La carroza de Bolívar (2012), del escritor Evelio José Rosero Diago. Se defiende la siguiente tesis: el autor realiza una alegoría en la que se puede interpretar que en la sociedad y la historia colombianas hay algo siniestro. Así, el eje rector de los análisis es la búsqueda de los elementos siniestros que se encuentran en la obra y que atraviesan diversos contextos de desarrollo humano. Ajustada a la tesis se plantea la discusión de la forma en la que es construida la trama, para generar el efecto siniestro al interior de la obra, en su literalidad, pero también como efecto percibido por el lector, que ve correr el velo y se encuentra con una realidad que no le es ajena.

On the irreversible conversion of glucose-6-phosphate to fructose-6-phosphate in H2O/HOT with glu... more On the irreversible conversion of glucose-6-phosphate to fructose-6-phosphate in H2O/HOT with glucose-6-phosphate-isomerase 8 - 10% of the tritium content per gram atom hydrogen in the water are incorporated. The corresponding figures for the enzymatical conversions of mannose-6-phosphate → fructose-6-phosphate, dihydroxyacetone phosphate → glyceraldehyde phosphate, phosphoenol pyruvate → pyruvate are 17 - 18, 15 and 16% respectively. When fructose-l,6-diphosphate is transferred into dihydroxyacetone phosphate 40-45% tritium is fixed and 40% when pyruvate is decarboxylated to acetaldehyde. The triose isomerase reaction is approximately 10% intramolecular.

Free tartaric acids, various tartrates, malic, hydroxymaleic, fumaric and aspartic acid, as well ... more Free tartaric acids, various tartrates, malic, hydroxymaleic, fumaric and aspartic acid, as well as propane diol-1.2 have been labelled by the Wilzbach method. In propane diol, hydrogen attached at C-2 is substituted by tritium three times faster than a hydrogen atom of the methyl group whereas that at C-l is substituted two times faster. Splitting of a carbon-carbon bond and fixation of tritium is eight to nine times more probable than the substitution of hydrogen by tritium. The OH group in propane diol as well as in tartaric and malic acid is more often replaced by atomic tritium than hydrogen atoms fixed at carbon. During the formation of malic acid from tartaric acid the second center of asymmetry is not attacked. The replacement of the OH group occurs in the cases of the free acid and the dimethylester to a high degree under inversion. Is the calcium or copper salt exposed retention prevails. Uric acid is excreted by the kidneys and intestinal tract, while other routes are negligible. By ... more Uric acid is excreted by the kidneys and intestinal tract, while other routes are negligible. By addition of purines to a purine-free or low purine diet changes in uric acid turnover and excretion occur, which cannot be investigated by metabolic balance methods as that part of the uric acid turnover secreted into the gut is completely destroyed by the intestinal flora (Sorensen, 1960). We therefore studied uric acid pool size and turnover in normal subjects both during a purine-free diet and during purine supplementation by stable isotope methods.

Pool size, turnover, and excretion of uric acid were investigated in three normal subjects both d... more Pool size, turnover, and excretion of uric acid were investigated in three normal subjects both during purine-free, isoenergetic liquid formula diet and during additional purine administration by use of isotope dilution techniques. The fractional turnover of the uric acid pool was increased during dietary purine administration suggesting an increased total body uric acid clearance as a result of the increase in renal clearance. Fractional turnover increased more in the female subject than in males, while pool size was increased less. It can be calculated from the results obtained that endogenous uric acid synthesis is not inhibited by dietary purines.

The enantiomers (M) of isopropyl threeand erythro-3cyclohexylglycerates (4 and S), 2,3-butanediol... more The enantiomers (M) of isopropyl threeand erythro-3cyclohexylglycerates (4 and S), 2,3-butanediol (6), tiaanr-1,2-cyclohexanediol (7) and 1,4-dimethoxy-2,3-butanediol (8) were studied in the gas phase by chemical ionization mass spectrometry with enantiomer-labelled diisopropyl tartrates (lc) as chiral additive. The protonated mixed dimers M. le. H+ of 4 and 8, but not those of 5-7, showed small but distinct chiral discriminations. The smaller number of H-bond acceptors sites in 4-S compared with lc reduces or cancels the chirality effect. For the dimethyl tartrates, semi-empirical calculations predicted homochiral and heterochiral dimer structures RR*H+ and RS *H+ with four and three intermolecular H bonds, respectively. The stability increase of-0.22 kcallmol for RR * H' agrees with the chirality effect KRRIKRS = 1.5. Protonated trimers of lc showed a chiral effect KRRs I KRRR = 1.6 in favour of the heterochiral RRS. H' and RSS. H+ ions compared with RRR. H' and SSS. H'. Association of a methanol, ethanol or diol molecule (X) in heterogenous trimers X. lc* le. H+ affected the initial chiral discrimination which occurs in the unsolvated lc * lc * Hf dimers.
