The Indian government has made a declaration that it is working at the approach to build up the new logistics plan in India. The point is to build up the most prudent approach to transport products by 2035. As we know logistics is a highly diverse gambit consisting many factors and variables, we decided to focus on Trucking segment of logistics in Mumbai region. Mumbai is a city in Maharashtra, India. To know more about the market and its potential we needed to know more about the transporters and manufacturing industries in Mumbai. As transporters in Mumbai can get us about the idea of logistical truck movements inside and outside Mumbai, and the manufacturing industries can suggest us about which type of trucks are required by them according to the raw materials they need or the final products they distribute. Apart from the logistic move...

Thus, this research explores various criterions relevant to electric vehicle (EVs) adoption and causal relationships using the decision-making trial and evaluation laboratory (DEMATEL) method. From the comprehensive literature review, a set of criteria for EVs adoption were identified and are finalised through the Delphi method. The data was gathered from eleven experts and was analyzed using the DEMATEL method to develop the causal relationship between each criterion. The sensitivity analysis was performed to check the robustness of the model. The findings revealed that the key criteria for EV adoption include their causal relationships. It is observed that charging time, driving range and price are the most important criteria for an EV purchase. Battery capacities have a major and influential impact on other crite...

This paper focuses on proposing a structured model for evaluating suppliers in Book retail industry in India, using Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). This proposed model is evolved using evidence from an observed study in Tier 2 city of India. The model takes into account the various factors which are considered by the vendors in Book Retail Industry while placing their orders of books with different suppliers. The criteria considered for this model includes, Discount Offered (Cost), credit terms, return policy, delivery time, Genuineness (Quality) of product. However, Discount Offered and Genuineness of product are two important factors out of all. This proposed model can be used by the vendors to further select the best supplier for sourcing the...

Model formulated covers retail supply chain processes applicable for steel products starting from production of different grades of material, its transfer to company warehouse, then to distributor warehouse cum service center and finally to retailer. The input parameters considered are the cost of opening new warehouse, order costs, administrative cost, inventory holding cost, transportation costs and desired service level for serving customers. In order to solve the problem a Territory Defined Evolutionary Algorithm (TDEA) is utilized. The paper discusses a realistic application of the validity of the model. The model developed supports organization and distributor in deciding the optimal location for minimizing inventory and transportation cost after taking into account desired service level requirements of retail customers. The f...
