A questionnaire was developed and used to collect the data from undergraduate students who study in the year of 2 to 4. The students were asked to rank which academic and non-academic aspects perceived as most important and most satisfied. A total of 401 completed returns were statistically analyzed and evaluated by SPSS program. Importance-performance analysis (IPA) was used to identify student perceived factors that needed to be prioritized for improvement. The results show that the quality of academic staffs and quality of academic programs perceived as the most important factors in improving the quality of educational services and were also given the most satisfied by students. From IPA, it illustrates that three quality improvement area should be concent...

Altogether, a total of 129 firms participated in this study – 97 companies from Hong Kong/China and 32 firms from Thailand. Included in this methodology are a pre‐test of a survey, a development of the research hypotheses, and follow‐up discussions with participating executives on possible future challenges for their business value chains.FindingsAn effective business value chain essentially depends on a good internal operational system and constructive relationships with suppliers and customers. In other words, the collective efficacy depends on a manufacturer's internal operations (IO) and its supplie...

The FMEA was also applied to specify failure causes and effects that occurred in the rice harvester. The obtained data were calculated for a risk priority number (RPN) and then sorted to be a descending order. The high RPN part was analyzed for the causes and effects and then suggested a preventive maintenance in near future. The results revealed that the highest RPN of 576 was found when a chain surface was considered and also showed the maximum risk among the considered parts in the rice combine harvester. While, the lowest RPN of 144 was found when a rice sieve part was considered but this RPN was still higher than that of 100 RPN which was required to specify the preventive maintenance.

This paper presents a study from a small enterprise classified as OEM supply elevator assembly parts. A process capability study is performed for cutting and drilling processes in order to verify the process capable of consistently meeting the required specification and delivering quality products since increasing a number of rework parts. Why-why analysis was used to identify the root cause and the principles of Poka Yoke and jig & fixture design were then applied by design a measure gauge for cutting and drilling processes. After improvement, the result shows that the Cpk of cutting process increase from 0.19 to 2.72 while Cpk of drilling process also increase from 0.36 to 4.50. Since the Cpk is greater than 1.3 this means that both two processes have a capable to produce the output meet specificat...

The correlation and multiple regression techniques are applied for the analysis of surveys' responses. There are many useful results such as when focusing on flexibility as its primary operational strategy and delivery and management as key strategies for supplier selection in maintenance services, mean time to repair should be an important productivity indicator. Finally, the research's limitations are recognised with ...

This description potentially helps a company's preparation for the application of the quality management award. The Thailand Quality Award highlights the interrelationships among knowledge management, workforce focus and leadership as they contribute to learning and innovation, continuous performance improvement and organisational competitiveness. A total of 35 manufacturing firms completed and returned the survey. The interviews with chief quality officers were also conducted to help interpret the survey's findings. The results show that effective knowledge management will lead to better learning and subsequently more innovativeness in an organisation. These results also indicate the importance of leadership in establishing supportive cultures and working environment for effective knowledge management.
