And also this research is about to know what factors that make mothers can not breastfeed their infant with exclusive breastfeeding. In this research the populations being used are all the mothers in Kecamatan Medan Kota that breastfeed their infant The sample being used took with random sampling from 4 (four) Kelurahan on Kecamatan Medan Kota. The methodology for this research is descriptive method. The score for the tabulation questioners is about the range 66. 06. Javanese women learn to weave Hiou with a feeling of being aware, happy and proud because they can weave Hiou like Simalungun women. The woven products they make are of good quality, which makes the owners of capital keep empowering Javanese women so that they can still weave Hiou. This study aims to examine: (i) the phenomenon of Javanese ethnic women who work as Hiou weavers in Karang Rejo Village, Simalungun Regency; (ii) the reason Simalungun ethnic capital owners chose Javanese women as Hiou weavers; (iii) the efforts of the Simalungun ethnic group to empower Javanese women to remain Hiou weavers. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: (1) pola pengasuhan anak keluarga Jawa pernikahan dini, (2) faktor yang menyebabkan permasalahan dalam mengasuh anak pada keluarga Jawa pernikahan dini dan (3) peran orangtua usia muda dalam mengasuh anak. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu metode kualitatif dan pendekatan etnografi. Unit analisis dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari lima rumah tangga keluarga Jawa. The dynamics of changes in social and cultural life experienced by urban women in Indonesia have caused a shift in lifestyle in terms of fashion consumption. This shift was indicated in the function and meaning of fashion itself, namely in: (1) positioning the production of desire, identity / ethnic identity / group; (2) position the power of individuals / groups; (3) shows the ideology / ideological resistance and (4 ) to identify the context of sex / gender. Fairy tale is one of the local wisdom of society that can be used as media of character education... more Fairy tale is one of the local wisdom of society that can be used as media of character education values of character in children since early age. Important character education is instilled from an early age because in this, golden period is the most effective time in providing knowledge and understanding as well as the inculcation of character education. The purpose of this study is to examine the values of character education in fairy tales that can be embedded in early childhood in kindergarten education institutions. This research uses a qualitative method. Data collection techniques in this study are literature studies and in-depth interviews with Malay cultural figures. From the research, results obtained data that the tale of Malay titled Princess at Pucuk Kelumpang has character education values that include leadership and responsibility, patience, loyalty, and honesty. The values of character education are derived from local cultural knowledge and values that are delivered orally through storytelling. Thus, in addition to gaining knowledge and understanding of the virtues that come from the local culture, children can also recognize and preserve their culture.

The purpose of this study is to explore the efficacy of medicinal plants, specifically tinuktuk, in Simalungunese, North Sumatra, Indonesia. This effort shows the potentials of local knowledge in preparing herbal mixtures, based on geographical existence. The sample concoction was analyzed qualitatively for its health properties, using a pragmatic approach. Subsequent data were obtained from focus group discussions and field demonstrations to determine the plant types, processing mechanisms and efficacy. The results showed that the leaves, stems, fruits, seeds, tubers, and rhizomes of 18 herbal plant varieties were utilized, alongside the evaluation of 8 medicinal properties. Among the species, Zingiberaceae, Arecaceae, and Euphorbiaceae belonged to genera, while Areacaceae, Poaceae, Rutaceae, and Zingiberaceae families were predominantly applied. This study aims to determine the existence of Malay folklore in Medan. The type of research is qu... more This study aims to determine the existence of Malay folklore in Medan. The type of research is qualitative research with a descriptive approach. The data collection techniques used were observation, in-depth interviews, and literature study. The theory used in this study is a cultural interpretation by Clifford Geertz. The selected informants consisted of Malay cultural figures, parents, teachers, children and storytellers. The results of this study found that Malay folklore has experienced degradation in the Malay cultural order, especially among children. The existence of this folklore is increasingly fading. This is due to the development of the era with global technology and culture that freely entered various regions in Indonesia through the digital world. The value of character education contained in the Malay folklore that religious values, social and moral or humanitarian. That is the need to revitalize Malay folklore by integrating the content of Malay folklore in the education curriculum with an attractive and fun learning model. Besides, it is necessary to reconstruct Malay folklore by packaging stories through interesting drama, film and video performances.

Folklore can be used as a means to guide children to behave well because it contains many pieces of advice that can be used as life lessons.This study aims to: (1) describe the meaning and value of the Toba Batak folklore entitled The Polite Source of Life, Not Caring for the Source of Destruction (2) revitalizes the Toba Batak folklore to be implemented in the formation of character education of children. The research method using the qualitative method with the descriptive approach. Data collection techniques include literature studies and in-depth interviews. Informants selected purposively who are experts about the Toba Batak folklore. Nevertheless, today the phenomenon that occurs in society, especially the younger generation no longer recognize the values contained in folklore. Also, the school also does not include folklore become part of learning. From the research results obtained that the Toba Batak folklore is full of character education values to form noble moral behavior. The values are, charge, concern, obedient to the parents, not arrogant or humble, helping others, respecting others, sincere, be fair and no strings attached. Revitalization of the values contained in this folklore can be done by preserving and transforming it to the young generation in the form of education, especially in the local content curriculum, extracurricular activities in the form of theater/drama and film/video making.

Women are usually not taken into account in the division of the inheritance if they have no brothers. The estate will fall into the hands of his father's brother (uncle) or father's sister's son. In the literature, EST expressed repeatedly injustice, wickedness, unrighteousness and discrimination against women who do not have the Batak Toba brother. EST literature can be considered as a counter culture against customs that discriminate against women tends to be considered. The paradox of women Batak Toba characterized by a situation that is culturally Toba Batak people with patrilineal system puts the male in a leading role in many areas of life. In reality, women Toba Batak work hard to provide for the family and the household.

This study aims to determine the participation of fishermen in participating family planning prog... more This study aims to determine the participation of fishermen in participating family planning programs in Percut sei Tuan and to know the gender relations built in fishing communities. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative with ethnography approach. The research technique is done by in-depth interview and participant observation. The results of this study indicate that the low participation of men in participating in family planning program, this is due to the strong construction of cultural values adopted by the fishermen community such as "many children a lot of sustenance", the child acts as a labor that helps the family, the child is a medium for improving the fate of the family, and bringing honor to the family. Gender relationship built in the fishing community in KB is still low because the KB is considered the domain of women, the low knowledge of women about family planning programs that cause women to be very vulnerable to receive the impact of the use of contraception, the condition where women can not make their own decisions if you want to participate in family planning program so have to ask the husband's permission.

Data was collected through in-depth interviews with a number of informants, consisting of pregnant women or those who had given birth, a number of community leaders, community members who were considered to know about the culture of the local community. The data was analyzed qualitative with the ethnography approach. You still has local knowledge of reproductive health for pregnant women, such as eating food like salted fish, squid, a number of fruits such as pineapple. Pregnant women may not leave the house in the afternoon before sunset due to the belief of a disturbing spirit. The purpose of abstinence is to avoid difficulties during childbirth and also for the safety of the baby to be born. Traditional birth attendants still play a large role as birth auqt tendants. Important character education is instilled from an early age because in this, golden period is the most effective time in providing knowledge and understanding as well as the inculcation of character education. The purpose of this study is to examine the values of character education in fairy tales that can be embedded in early childhood in kindergarten education institutions. This research uses a qualitative method. Data collection techniques in this study are literature studies and in-depth interviews with Malay cultural figures. From the research, results obtained data that the tale of Malay titled Princess at Pucuk Kelumpang has character education values that include leadership and responsibility, patience, loyalty, and honesty. The values of character education are derived from local cultural knowledge and values that are delivered orally through storytelling. Thus, in addition to gaining knowledge and understanding of the virtues that come from the local culture, children can also recognize and preserve their culture.

The purpose of this study is to explore the efficacy of medicinal plants, specifically tinuktuk, in Simalungunese, North Sumatra, Indonesia. This effort shows the potentials of local knowledge in preparing herbal mixtures, based on geographical existence. The sample concoction was analyzed qualitatively for its health properties, using a pragmatic approach. Subsequent data were obtained from focus group discussions and field demonstrations to determine the plant types, processing mechanisms and efficacy. The results showed that the leaves, stems, fruits, seeds, tubers, and rhizomes of 18 herbal plant varieties were utilized, alongside the evaluation of 8 medicinal properties. Among the species, Zingiberaceae, Arecaceae, and Euphorbiaceae belonged to genera, while Areacaceae, Poaceae, Rutaceae, and Zingiberaceae families were predominantly applied. The type of research is qualitative research with a descriptive approach. The data collection techniques used were observation, in-depth interviews, and literature study. The theory used in this study is a cultural interpretation by Clifford Geertz. The selected informants consisted of Malay cultural figures, parents, teachers, children and storytellers. The results of this study found that Malay folklore has experienced degradation in the Malay cultural order, especially among children. The existence of this folklore is increasingly fading. This is due to the development of the era with global technology and culture that freely entered various regions in Indonesia through the digital world. The value of character education contained in the Malay folklore that religious values, social and moral or humanitarian. That is the need to revitalize Malay folklore by integrating the content of Malay folklore in the education curriculum with an attractive and fun learning model. Besides, it is necessary to reconstruct Malay folklore by packaging stories through interesting drama, film and video performances.

Folklore can be used as a means to guide children to behave well because it contains many pieces of advice that can be used as life lessons.This study aims to: (1) describe the meaning and value of the Toba Batak folklore entitled The Polite Source of Life, Not Caring for the Source of Destruction (2) revitalizes the Toba Batak folklore to be implemented in the formation of character education of children. The research method using the qualitative method with the descriptive approach. Data collection techniques include literature studies and in-depth interviews. Informants selected purposively who are experts about the Toba Batak folklore. Nevertheless, today the phenomenon that occurs in society, especially the younger generation no longer recognize the values contained in folklore. Also, the school also does not include folklore become part of learning. From the research results obtained that the Toba Batak folklore is full of character education values to form noble moral behavior. The values are, charge, concern, obedient to the parents, not arrogant or humble, helping others, respecting others, sincere, be fair and no strings attached. Revitalization of the values contained in this folklore can be done by preserving and transforming it to the young generation in the form of education, especially in the local content curriculum, extracurricular activities in the form of theater/drama and film/video making.

The type of research used is descriptive qualitative with ethnography approach. The research technique is done by in-depth interview and participant observation. The results of this study indicate that the low participation of men in participating in family planning program, this is due to the strong construction of cultural values adopted by the fishermen community such as "many children a lot of sustenance", the child acts as a labor that helps the family, the child is a medium for improving the fate of the family, and bringing honor to the family. Gender relationship built in the fishing community in KB is still low because the KB is considered the domain of women, the low knowledge of women about family planning programs that cause women to be very vulnerable to receive the impact of the use of contraception, the condition where women can not make their own decisions if you want to participate in family planning program so have to ask the husband's permission.

Data was collected through in-depth interviews with a number of informants, consisting of pregnant women or those who had given birth, a number of community leaders, community members who were considered to know about the culture of the local community. The data was analyzed qualitative with the ethnography approach. You still has local knowledge of reproductive health for pregnant women, such as eating food like salted fish, squid, a number of fruits such as pineapple. Pregnant women may not leave the house in the afternoon before sunset due to the belief of a disturbing spirit. The purpose of abstinence is to avoid difficulties during childbirth and also for the safety of the baby to be born. Traditional birth attendants still play a large role as birth auqt tendants.
