Dalam rangka meningkatkan kompetensi para editor yang direkrut oleh Penerbit Nuta Media Yogyakarta, tim pelaksana pengabdian masyarakat melakukan pelatihan dan pendampingan bagi para calon editor yang akan direkrut Penerbit Nuta Media Yogyakarta. This research was conducted to find out the students’ gram-matical errors in writing and focused ... more This research was conducted to find out the students’ gram-matical errors in writing and focused on the types of errors found in 20 writ-ten sheets of students’ descriptive text given as a part of the assignment of the second semester of Polytechnic Indonusa Surakarta majoring in Medical Records Program Study.Method: This research used qualitative research to collect empirical data from the students’ written works. Results: In this re-search, it was found that 1) in investigating types of grammatical errors in students’ written works, it can be inferred that there are 417 errors that oc-curred in students’ written works. It was found 40 types of grammatical er-rors in this study. 2) In figuring out how mother tongue interference effects on students’ written works. It was found 66 or 15.83% was caused by mother tongue interference or interlingual errors. This study aims to identify the types of illocutionary speech acts contained in 100 poster design... more This study aims to identify the types of illocutionary speech acts contained in 100 poster designs containing appeals for the prevention of Covid-19 and the application of health protocols posted on social media Facebook. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method by applying the data collection techniques of Miles, Huberman, and Saldana, namely data condensation, data display, and conclusion. This study uses Searle's theory of illocutionary speech acts to analyze the collected data. The theory includes the types of illocutionary speech acts, namely directive, assertive, expressive, commissive, and declarative. The results of this study indicate that of the 100 poster designs analyzed, there were 64 posters containing directive speech acts, 27 posters containing assertive speech acts, 8 posters containing expressive speech acts, and 1 poster containing commissive speech acts. This study is aimed to investigates caring speech act in reminding of utterances used by students... more This study is aimed to investigates caring speech act in reminding of utterances used by students of polytechnic in Surakarta, Indonesia while in other's wrongdoing in laboratory of pharmacy. This research was a qualitative study employing the pragmatics approach. The subjects comprised the 80 students pharmacy's program study in Polytechnic Indonusa of Surakarta, Indonesia, deriving 5 male students and 75 female students participated in the study. The research data consist of three types, namely: (1) the data of speech act, (2) the data of observation note, and (3) the data of discourse completion test/DCTs. The first data obtained through observation techniques assisted recording using a handycam, the second data obtained through interviews, and the third data responses obtained from situation the written DCT. The datas were analyzed using the interactive analysis model by Miles and Huberman in three steps: (1) data reduction,(2) data display, and (3) conclusion finding and verification. According to the result, speech acts in reminding utterances used by students of polytechnic in Surakarta, Indonesia as responses in other's wrongdoing are assertives, directives, commisives, and expressives.

As a tradition, this celebration is held every year and is a cultural tour that is awaited by the people of Solo and surrounding cities. The aim of this research is to explore the construction message and follower's reaction during of Grebeg Sudiro celebrations on Instagram especially from the @visitsurakarta and @kotasolo_fp as business accounts. In this qualitative descriptive study the method (1) observation in 2 Instagram accounts, (2) recording messages and communication dialogs between the admin and his followers, and (3) message construction. Implications of the results of the study, messages compiled by the Instagram account admin apply persuasive communication to achieve one or three attitudes at once from followers. The initial effect is cognitive, conative and affective outcomes from followers.

Pengiklan menggunakan bahasa sebagai salah satu alat komunikasi untuk menyampaikan gagasangagasan dalam menjual produk atau menawarkan jasanya. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teori pragmatik merujuk pada teori tindak tutur Searle (dalam Leech, 2014). Untuk menganalisis dari aspek pragmatik, khususnya strategi penggunaan bahasa maupun cara penyampaian makna dan pesan iklan digunakan teori dari Leech (2014).

This study aims to investigate online learning for elementary school students in Indonesia due to... more This study aims to investigate online learning for elementary school students in Indonesia due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The data were collected using a survey method through distributing questionnaires with a google form. Secondary data was also supported using the library method through documentation to gain the relevant data regarding the impact of COVID-19 and online learning in elementary schools from various sources such as documents, books, magazine news, and journal articles. Data analysis used a flow chart following Milles and Huberman. Results show that the impact of COVID-19 on implementing online learning in elementary schools in Indonesia can be implemented quite well. The impact of COVID-19 on the implementation of distance learning in elementary schools can be carried out quite well if there is a collaboration between teachers, students, and parents in learning at home.

Discussion of women and their language, or language and women's issues usually leads to the expos... more Discussion of women and their language, or language and women's issues usually leads to the exposure of language differences between women and men. Many things underlie the emergence of differences between women and men from language use perspective. Previous studies described that the male language is more assertive, mature, and men like to speak openly with the right vocabulary. On the other hand, the language spoken by women is not firm, not overtly, and careful when expressing something, and often uses a more polite words or gestures. One way to learn women language is by examining their utterances while communicating, including interviews. This study aims to describe the features of the speeches of Najwa Shihab and President Joko Widodo from gender perspective. The data source in this study is an interview between Najwa Shihab as presenter, and Joko Widodo as a political figure as well as seventh Indonesian President, in a television program called "Mata Najwa". The results showed that in the interview, Najwa Shihab's emotions were very influential when interviewing President Joko Widodo and gave impact on the features of the speech she used when giving questions to the President.

Relying on more than twenty international journal articles, the research findings exhibit that certain types of continuative and logical metaphor can not only operate externally to connect events and qualities but they can also function internally to organize evidences and arguments in texts. As a result, not only a new role of internal continuative and logical metaphor can be confirmed, but the findings will also introduce an elaborated development of classifying CR in general. The emergence of the internal role of continuative and logical metaphor leads to a more elaborate way of connecting and grouping clauses into different units of discourse. In fact, the context of the language of any literary work may be felt in the text but not all the time, since understanding literary works may be dependent on cultural contexts that are not found in the text. Hence the paralinguistic and extra linguistic clues of relating meaning to the context have to do with the attempt to get at the intended meaning of an utterance. The purpose of this paper is to analyze types of illocutionary and perlocutionary act found in an anthology of short stories "9 dari Nadira" by Leila S. Chudori. This is the first edition that was published in Jakarta by Kelompok Pustaka Gramedia in 2009. This research used the descriptive qualitative method. The data are taken from subtitle "Mencari Seikat Seruni" and "Nina dan Nadira". The data would be analyzed based on Searle's theory about the classifications of the illocutionary act. This study uses a qualitative approach. The type of research used is descriptive research. Data collection is carried out by documentation techniques, while data analysis techniques are carried out with qualitative descriptive and pragmatic analysis. From theoretical and experimental perspectives, there were several studies concerning speech act theory as one of the basic elements for studying pragmatics. Literary texts, novels, and drama have received quite good pragmatic attention, but not much has been paid to short stories. As such, the present study was carried out with the aim of examining four short stories and analyzes them pragmatically. It has come to the findings that the use of speech acts fluctuate both in quantity and type from one writer and from one theme to another. The results showed that the meanings contained in the locus speech act. Based on the results, all of the studies of pragmatics are found in an anthology of short stories 9 dari Nadira which is written by Leila S. Chudori.

The roles, duties, and responsibilities of lecturers are critical in realizing national education goals, namely educating the nation's life and improving the quality of Indonesian human resources. The quality of human resources in question includes faith/taqwa, noble character, mastery of science, technology, and art, in realizing an advanced, just, prosperous, and civilized Indonesian society. Lecturers are required to be able to show good performance. Lecturer Research Sample The sample size was determined by using the Slovin formula of 150. Based on Table 7, it can be seen that from the distribution of respondents' answers about the leader must be friendly to subordinates, the majority of the answers agreed with as many as 91 respondents (60.7%), although there were 1 (0, 7%) of respondents who said they did not agree. The average score obtained is 4.03, indicating that respondents agree that leaders must always be friendly to subordinates, both lecturers and employees. The distribution of respondents' answers to the leader having good communication with subordinates shows that most of the respondents agree as many as 88 respondents (58.7%), although two respondents (1.3%) disagree. The average score of 4.03 shows that respondents agree with leaders who have good communication with subordinates. The results showed that the transformational leadership style was formed from idealized influence: inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation, and individual consideration. The most significant contribution to the formation of a transformational leadership style is idealized influence, which is reflected in the leader must have extensive knowledge. Professionalism formed from Pedagogic Competence.

In the laboratory classes, there are some students who make mistakes and violate procedures.This study aims to repairing interlocutor's mistakes in selecting speech act in an academic situated interaction between student-students of Polytechnic collage, specifically to describe the pragmatic forces and the context following the use of speech acts. The participants were 80 (eighty) students. The study revealed that the pragmatic force on the studied data includes giving information, deciding, commanding, suggesting, challenging, influencing, rebuking, criticizing, and sarcasting. On the observed speech acts, the more indirect utterances were expressed, the stronger pragmatic force on speaking partners. The expressed polite language among the participants in the pharmacy laboratory interaction were realized through the maxim of generosity, agreement and tact maxim. The politeness scale mostly used by the students with fellow mediated by the maxim of sympathy.

Through the vlog, every citizen of Indonesia can convey various problems directly to President Joko Widodo and answers directly, as well. This paper aims to describe the politeness principles and strategies in the language used by President Joko Widodo when answering various questions from citizens of Indonesia who ask through a vlog entitled #JOKOWIMENJAWAB. The theoretical basis used is the principle of politeness from Brown and Levinson. The data source in this paper is vlog #JOKOWIMENJAWAB, while the data in this paper is the speech act of President Joko Widodo when answering questions via vlog. The data in this paper was collected by using listening and noting methods, whereas the data analysis used a pragmatics approach. The results of the data analysis obtained that President Joko Widodo in his speaking used a strategy that reflects the character of a head of state, namely, maintaining politeness in order to avoid misunderstandings and conflicts that arise. President Joko Widodo's utterances used numerous politeness strategies that contain strong illocution and per locution force for the hearer (the citizens).
