This study is conducted with a quantitative approach using a survey method and was limited to (437) teachers who worked at public and private schools in Hafr Al Batin city in Saudi Arabia. The survey consisting of 36 items was used to investigate teachers' perceptions about their principals' ethical leadership behaviors. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, such as percentage, mean, and standard deviation. The results have shown that the level of ethical leadership, including justice, powersharing, clarity of roles, people orientation, integrity, and ethical guidance, is high at the significance level of α<0.05 from the teachers' perspective in Hafr Al Batin. The results are discussed, and the recommendations are made based upon the data analysis and conclusion.

The qualitative, semi-structured interviews provided three themes: 1) academic challenges, 2) non-academic challenges, and 3) strategies for success. A sample of 15 international students at a selected U.S. public university were interviewed about their experience of university study, the barriers they faced, and how they had coped with these challenges. This research was motivated by two major research questions: 1) What challenges do international students face at U.S. universities? 2) What do international students do to be successful academically? The findings of this study indicated that the majority of international students face academic and nonacademic challenges, including the language barrier, social, and financial barriers. There is also evidence that the main obstacles that these students encounter is speaking fluently followed by academic writing, and findings of this study suggest that there needs to be an additional focus on methods to improve the experience of this population in their academic life.

The study examines the influence of parental involvement on students as one of the main predictors of students’ academic achievement and success. Data collection in this study involved interviewing 21 parents whose children study in primary schools in different locations in Saudi Arabia. This study considered the following research question: What are the perspectives of Saudi parents about barriers that hinder parental involvement at selected primary schools in Saudi Arabia? Findings of the study shows that lack of communication between families and school is one of the barriers that decreases the level of parental involvement and discourage parents to engage in schools’ activities or attend parent-teacher conferences. Participants felt that they were not welcomed in schools when they wanted to ask about their children’s educational progress or behavioral issues. Another concer...

A survey of 36 items comprising 5 dimensions of self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, social skills, and leadership effectiveness was administered to a population sample of 110 leaders and faculty members from different colleges in the University of Hafr Al Batin in Saudi Arabia. Findings revealed that there is a positive relationship between the level of emotional intelligence and the level of leader's effectiveness; as the correlation coefficient value is 0.507 (p<0.001). Analysis also revealed that the level of emotional intelligence and leadership effectiveness among the leaders and faculty members is significantly high. The results indicated that the impact of emotional intelligence (self-awareness, self-discipline, motivation, and social skills) on leader's effectiveness is medium (25.6%). The study revealed that self-awareness, self-discipline, and motivation does not have a significant effect on leader’s effectiveness. The results are discussed, and recommendations are made based upon the data analysis and conclusion.

Despite the academic support and integration of Saudi women into male dominated spaces, Saudi women leaders are still under-represented in their involvement in Saudi's higher educational leadership. The primary purpose of this study is to better understand Saudi women's lived experiences in leadership in higher education. This qualitative study was designed to explore challenges that Saudi women leaders face in higher education, and to understand the factors contributing to the significant under-representation of women leaders in higher education. A sample of 15 female faculty members and administrators at a selected Saudi public university were interviewed about participants' career path and their journey to leadership in higher education. This research was motivated by two major research questions: 1) What are the challenges that Saudi women experience as faculty and administrators in higher education in Saudi Arabia? 2) What factors have contributed to the successes that Saudi women leaders experience as faculty and administrators in higher education? Findings of this study indicated that Saudi female leaders face large number of professional challenges: women's lack of authority, their marginalization, and their lack of experience and training, while societal and personal challenges ranked last. Findings also demonstrated that a majority of the participants argue that factors impeding Saudi women ascension to leadership include oppressive gender stereotyping, gender discrimination, glass ceiling, and history of Saudi women's education. This study confirms that effective family support and mentoring experiences were instrumental in enabling participants to achieve their current positions and succeed in their professions. Based on the findings of the study, Saudi higher education should bring more Saudi female leaders into top leadership roles in higher education because this is a determining factor for empowering women in the higher educational realm of leadership.
