Art in the Indian Subcontinent has a long history with diverse and rich cultural expression. Indian art continues to develop with modern influences while maintaining its traditional roots, acting as a tribute to the nation's rich cultural past. Modern Indian art is more than a century old. Along with other disciplines, the art education in modern India has inherited the colonial legacy. After the independence, government of India has accepted the need for a holistic approach for modern art education among the Indian students. The government has taken several initiatives including various policies and programmes. However, with all these initiatives the art education is still a neglected discipline. The All India Survey on Higher Education (AISHE) reports indicate that a potentially uninspiring number of students enrollment in various arts education programs. Recently the government has adopted 'New Education policy 2020' with special emphasis on the art education by revamping the overall structure from the top to the bottom level. On the other hand, the NEP and its implementation could lead to a big shift in the educational landscape. All stakeholders must increase their financial, logistical, and scholarly obligations for it to be carried out.

The study was conducted from June 2014 to May 2017 in four seasons, each of three months. The samples were collected and estimated the Trimethyle amine (TMA), Total Volatile Base Nitrogen (TVBN), Peroxide value (PV) and Total Plate count (TPC) in them. The result revealed that the dried fish products available in the market were found to be acceptable for consumption, except in the monsoon season. Therefore, care should be taken during storage. Packaging may also be improved for safeguarding the quality of the products.

The present study was conducted to find out the present status of fish seed production, nature of marketing and marketing channel of produced fish seed and SWOT analysis of fish seed production of this district. The study was made by collecting primary data from fish farmers, fish breeders, PFCS members, etc., following a structured questionnaire schedule during fish breeding period. A total of 350 hatcheries are found, located in different villages of Onda, Simlapal, Patrasayer, Bishnupur, Joypur, Kotulpur and Borjora Blocks. Farmers sell their produce either directly to byers or to itinerant traders, i.e., Ghat malik (Aratdars /Wholesaler) who sell fish seeds in the local market of Bankura or other districts. The economic analysis of seed production reveals that the benefit cost ratio of the hatcheries is very high and estimated to ...

Over last two to three decades the problem has intensified because of growing population and developmental activities. West Bengal serves as inter- state and inter-country elephant corridors at several points, both at South Bengal and at North Bengal. The present report emphasises on Human-Elephant conflict in southern part of West Bengal (primarily Purulia and Bankura districts) which is being experienced with increased man-elephant conflict due to several development activities.

The present study conducted for determining nutritive value and food quality in respect of microbial load for the storage period of one year with the four major sun-dried fish species, viz., Bombay duck ( Harpadon nehereus ), Ribbon fish ( Lepturacanthus savala ), Tapra ( Setipinna phasa ) and Ruli ( Coilia dussumieri ). Naturally dry fishes are kept for a longer period. This is the important factor of the deterioration of nutritional value and quality of them as they absorb moisture from the surroundings. The result of this study revealed that mean percentage of protein, lipid, carbohydrate, moisture and ash content ranged from 49.45 to 69.5, 3.5 to 7.8, 1.15 to 4.2, 35 to 14.4, and 2.2 to 8.2 respectively. The protein, lipid, carbohydrate and ash content showed decreasing value whereas moisture content showed increasing value with the increasing storage period. The m...

The economic analysis of seed production reveals that the benefit cost ratio of the hatcheries is very high and estimated to 1.97. The study shows that the fish seed production industry in Bankura has a huge prospect of income generation with favourable climate and ecological condition. This industry is facing some problem like poor communication, corrupted administration, non coverage of insurance and lack of help from financial institution. Industry is also facing threats like mixed spawning, inbreeding and genetic drift which in turn damaging the marketing system by destructing/the good will.

Fish diversity of river essentially represents the fish faunal diversity and their abundance. Seventy eight species belonging to twenty one families were recorded in the sampling stations of the river of Duars. Cyprinidae was the most dominating and abundant family with thirty four species. Bagridae and Channidae were the next dominant family having three species. Distribution and abundance of the fish among the different stations was poor as compared to previous records. It was concluded that fish species gradually become decline in the Different Rivers of Duars. Habitat degradation and over exploitation could influence the percentage of fish abundance in these rivers.

Mosquito control depended on the use of insecticides for a long time (initially organochlorines, followed by organophosphates, carbamates and pyrethroids). This study aimed to determine the susceptibility of Anopheles arabiensis adult to the public health and agricultural insecticides, viz. DDT 4%, fenitrothion 1%, malathion 5%, bendiocarb 0.1%, propoxur 0.1%, deltamethrin 0.05% and lambdacyhalothrin 0.05% at El Rahad Agricultural Corporation (RAC) area, Central Sudan, to provide base-line data about the Anopheles susceptibility, by determining their KDT50 and KDT95. The WHO procedure was adopted. The number of knockdown (Kd) mosquitoes were recorded after 10, 15, 20, 30, 40, 50 and 60 min. of exposure. The percent mortalities after 24 hrs for each chemical were determined. The KDT50 and KDT95 were calculated with the 95% CL. These were as follows: for DDT...
