This research aimed to determine that improving students ability in creative thinking through the... more This research aimed to determine that improving students ability in creative thinking through the PBL model is higher than traditional learning. This research is a quasi experimental research. Sampling method is using random sampling method that is from tenth grade at State Senior High School 7 of Medan selected two classes as sample which subjected to random treatment of one as control class that is X2 and the other as experimental class that is X5. Eksperimental class is utilizing the PBL model and control class is utilizing the traditional learning. Inferensial statistic analysis was performed by Independent Sample t-Test. The math subject is system of linear equations with two variables. Based on the research, it was found that the significance value for mathematical creative thinking ability in the experimental and control classes is 0.038. Because 0.038 < 0.05 then H0 is rejected, So improving students ability in creative thinking the PBL model is higher than traditional learning. It was concluded that improving students ability in creative thinking through the PBL model is higher than traditional learning.

Geogebra untuk android sangat memberikan efek baik karena aplikasi ini dapat meningkatkan kemauan... more Geogebra untuk android sangat memberikan efek baik karena aplikasi ini dapat meningkatkan kemauan siswa dalam mengerjakan soal matematika yang diberikan. Pada kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilakukan secara tatap muka berlangsung pada bulan Oktober 2022 di kelas X OTKP pada materi fungsi kuadrat di SMK Negeri 6 Medan. Seluruh siswa kelas X OTKP mendapat pelatihan penggunaan aplikasi geogebra untuk android. Setelah selesai dilakukan pelatihan, peserta diminta untuk melakukan diskusi kelompok untuk mengerjakan tugas yang dilakukan sebagai penguatan atas materi yang telah diberikan, dan terakhir peneliti memberikan lembar evaluasi untuk melihat sejauh mana kebermanfaatan pelatihan ini. Siswa lebih antusias dalam mengerjakan masalah matematika. Hal ini dibuktuikan dengan peningkatan kemampuan peserta dalam menggunakan geogebra untuk android sebesar 4,38 berdasarkan hasil evaluasi setelah dilakukan pelatihan penggunaan geogebra untuk android.

Incorporating computer-simulation modelling into project-based learning may be effective but requ... more Incorporating computer-simulation modelling into project-based learning may be effective but requires careful planning and implementation. Teachers, especially, need pedagogical content knowledge which refers to knowledge about how students learn from materials infused with technology. This study suggests that students learn best by actively constructing knowledge from a combination of experience, interpretation and structured interactions with peers and teachers when using technology. Simulations do not work on their own, there needs to be some structuring of the students' interactions with the simulation to increase effectiveness. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of project-based learning in a technology-rich environment. A science project, Land-use in Watershed, that takes advantage of Internet facilities was developed and integrated with a simulation software package, Structural Thinking and Experiential Learning Laboratory, with Animation, (STELLA) developed to promote deeper understanding of Land-use by students. The Participants in the study were 72 students in a quasi-experimental research design. Statistical analyses showed that students who participated in the manipulation of the experimental model of the watershed experiment and the STELLA simulation performed best on understanding the watershed concept.
