D 95 043528 (2017)], in which an analytic model for the galaxy bispectrum in redshift space was developed on the basis of the halo approach, we here investigate its higher multipoles that have not been known so far. The redshift-space bispectrum includes the two variables ω and φ for the line-of-sight direction, and the higher multipole bispectra are defined by the coefficients in the expansion of the redshift-space bispectrum using the spherical harmonics. We find 6 new nonvanishing components out of 25 total components up to ℓ = 4, in addition to 3 components discussed in the previous work (monopole, quadruple, and hexadecapole of m = 0). The characteristic behaviors of the new nonvanishing multipoles are compared with the results of galaxy mock catalogs that match the halo occupation distribution of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey Baryonic Oscillation Spectroscopic Survey low-redshift sample. We find that the multipoles with m = 0 are also sensitive to redshift-space distortion (RSD) as well as those with m = 0 and thus are key ingredients in the RSD analysis using the galaxy bispectrum. Analytic approximation formulas for these nonzero components are also presented; these are useful for understanding the characteristic behaviors.

By following this approach, the chemical composition of the essential oil from Piper caldense leaf and its antimicrobial potential were investigated. The antimicrobial activity was determined by broth microdilution method providing values for minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC), IC50, and minimum fungicidal concentration (MFC). The essential oil was tested as a modulator for several antibiotics, and its effect on the morphology of Candida albicans (CA) strains was also investigated. The chemical characterization revealed an oil composed mainly of sesquiterpenes. Among them are caryophyllene oxide (13.9%), spathulenol (9.1%), δ-cadinene (7.6%) and bicyclogermacrene (6.7%) with the highest concentrations. The essential oil showed very low activity against the strains of CA with the lowest values for IC50 and MFC of 1790 μg/mL and 8192 μg/mL, respe...

This work determined the seasonal and hydrodistillation time influence on the essential oil (EO) yield and composition. Dehydrated leaves were hydrodistilled with and without fractioning during a total period of 240 min. The EO yields varied from 0.66-0.84% with the highest values been observed during spring and summer seasons. The highest concentration of safrole was found in the winter oil (81%). In the fractioning experiments the concentration of safrole varied from 75-80% in F1 (oil distilled during 60 min) and 42-64% in F2 (oil distilled between 60-240 min).
